Infinite Jest is just staring at me from my bookshelf, mocking me. Some day.

Richmond Arts Festival 2014

Is it bad that I'm already looking for dates for 2015? Haha. -
Currently I'm reading Third and Indiana which is a pretty good fictionalized look at Badlands/Kensington area of Philadelphia and the effect it has on kids and families. Has anyone read the latest by Dave Eggers, Your Fathers, Where Are They? It's next on my list I think. I love some of his work, and I kind of hate others, but I read them all.

My best friend is moving to LA in a few weeks and is already building a little list of shit he wants. Conn is obviously high on the list, but I'm trying to think about emailing him and coordinating a little visit out west...

My best friend is moving to LA in two weeks, so this upcoming weekend I think we're going to try and grab some matching bro tats if my regular artist can squeeze us in. We'll see.

Finished up my arm with Grez last month. Here are some healed shots (that I also just put in the contest thread).

Already some tough stuff this month, but I'll give it a shot. Here's my arm from Grez at Kings Avenue. All healed up. -

The ED HARDY Thread

I tried watching that while pacing the house with a screaming two month old the other night. Turns out she wasn't as interested as I was, so I caught about half. I'll have to give it another go soon. -
One of my all time favorites.

After finishing my arm this weekend, this is the first time in a few years that I don't have anything at all booked or scheduled. I have talked with Scott Sylvia about something for the Pagoda City convention and it should happen, but nothing set quite yet. It's a weird feeling.

Just to follow up on @Cork's comment, it's @CultExciter who has that O'Donnell that wolf, and it rules. I can't wait to see it in person. -
Hopefully knocking out my last session on my arm on Saturday at King's Avenue.

I posted that one in the hand tattoos thread a while back, and it still blows my mind every time I see it. Edit: I realized I said this a few posts above. I'm an idiot. But it still rules.- 173 replies

Podcasts! New, old favorites, tattoo-related or not.
suburbanxcore replied to OutOfIdeas's topic in Random Crap
Nerdist, as mentioned already, is great. I can't keep up with them all, but worth a listen regularly. How Did This Get Made - Paul Scherer, June Diane Rapheal, and Jason Manzukis (I probably just spelled all of their names wrong) talking about bad movies. It's fantastic most of the time. Productive Outs - One dude from Thrice and another from Kowloon Walled City (with incredibly Scott Sylvia tattoos!) talking baseball. Overnight Drive - Very niche and specific, but dudes from (or formerly from) Self Defense Family just talking about stuff. Sometimes heavy, sometimes funny, sometimes boring. Not for everyone, but I'm stuck on it. Serial - Worth a listen if you missed the hype. Edgeland - I posted a while ago and it was already mentioned, but a good weekly talk about hardcore, straight edge, tattooing, skateboarding, wahtever. 100 Words of Less and Going off Track - Two good punk/indie/hardcore/emo related podcasts from musicians/journalists. Go Bayside - Now defunct, but comedian April Richardson would watch episodes of Saved by the Bell and then break them down with another comedian guest each week. So funny and worth a listen if you're of the era where SBTB were crucial. The Jerks from Tower One - Friends of mine discussing The Simpsons. Doesn't update a ton, but awesome when it does. -
Can we all take a quick second to appreciate how awesome @Iwar's @livedintattoos account it?

The ED HARDY Thread
suburbanxcore replied to Iwar's topic in Tattoo TV Shows, Documentaries and Media
@Hands On Grez said that he should've told her he'd buy it, and if it didn't quadruple in value in five years, he'd sell it. That almost worked. He also told us a story about how when he was in SF in like 2003, Ed was selling originals from the dragon book for crazy cheap. Grez bought a ton of them and even called DJ Rose and got him some. -
Anyone who follows me on Instagram has seen this, but here's a little teaser shot of my arm from Grez. I said from the beginning that I wasn't going to post progress shots much because I love that feeling of just seeing the whole completed piece, and I'm amazed I mostly stuck to that. Haha. Now that next month is likely the last sitting, I can see end in sight and can't wait to share it.
