Yep! And it keeps getting crazier. I'm embarrassed to say what episode I'm on right now. But I guess that's what happens when work is canceled, roads are icy now, and my wife is away. Hahaha.

Yeah @Reyeslv! I had a snow day from work today and have been plowing through episodes of season two (no pun intended). This season is wild ass.

I've never really had anything of note when traveling with tattoos. In Portugal I got a decent amount of looks, but nothing overly positive or negative. My wife (two 3/4 sleeves) is currently in Thailand for work, and she said that she's gotten her picture taken four or five times in the few days she's been there so far. I like that she's in a country where she was able to go to a live sex show and see a woman (ahem) "shoot darts" at balloons, but she gets viewed as the spectacle because she has tattoos. Sounds like quite the place so far! As far as TSA goes, I've never really had an issue either, but I don't fly too much.

Graeme's list is obviously great, and there are other guys at Invisible or King's Avenue that slay Japanese work as well. Damien Rodriguez has been putting out great stuff, and Matt Beckerich, Justin Weatherholtz, and Grez all do solid Japanese as well (although Justin and Grez are sorta more well known for other styles). You're very lucky to be in NYC. Do your homework and don't hesitate to wait and/or spend what it takes to get a good tattoo. You'll have it forever. Make sure it's worth it.

Anyone see this new show Tattoo Titans with Ami James? It's on CMT. I saw something about it the other day.

I put this in the hand tattoo thread a little while back. It's incredible.

I just heard this weekend that Scott will be there. If I can get my tax situation squared away, I may try and get another tattoo from him. But there are so many incredible people there. It's gonna be fun.

Artichoke Pizza (get a Sicilian slice and some meatballs) and Momofuko Ssam Bar are both within a mile of Kings Avenue, so they're my go-to anytime I'm up that way.

That wolf he posted is mine, and the rose is on an old college friend I hadn't seen in about seven years.

@BrianH I've only ever been to one other convention (Richmond this fall) because I've always heard such crappy things about the Philly one. I figured I'd finally check out Philly this year, and while I got a good tattoo that I'm happy with, there was a lot of nonsense going on. There were a decent amount of awesome artists there, which I didn't even realize because their website is tough. It was also absolutely gigantic. I was only there on Sunday, but I really only had time to make it through each aisle one time. I saw a lot of people I like in the midst of tattoos, but didn't get any good pics. Once mine is healed up, I'll post a pic. Right now the side of my knee is swollen as hell.

I'm waiting until I can get a better pic of the wolf I got from Ron Wells this afternoon before I post. I'm way thrilled with it though, and he couldn't have been nicer. All in all a great experience.

I've always loved anything and everything by Grez, Todd Noble, and Scott Sylvia. I feel like they're all so well rounded, but also solid as hell in exactly what I want. I can still remember certain tattoos I've seen from each of them that started my love for each. I'll also say Robert Ryan as well. It's weird cause his stuff is usually a lot brighter and different than what I usually like, but he just seems like such a great guy. I'd love to get tattooed by him.

His stuff always rules. He did a great ship on a friend a few months back.

My wife just texted me from her appointment with Martin Lacasse: "Snake sort of spitting out a sweet ghost-geisha with flowers and fire. Crazy." I'm so jealous and can't wait to see it this outline.

@dcostello As I said in another thread recently, someday I'll get tattooed by Civ. I'm determined to make it happen!

@dcostello, haha, thanks. The Civ tattoo never happened. Instead I got a rose/dagger from Scott Sylvia with an Out of Step banner (in this month's contest thread).
