  1. I feel like I've been talking about it forever, but I guess I booked pretty far out. I had my "official" consult with Grez at King's Avenue for my left arm that will start in two weeks. I'm doing a 3/4 sleeve, and we decided on an eagle fighting a dragon. I knew I wanted an eagle, so then we kinda worked through some options. I'm mostly letting him run with it, as everything I've had him do for me so far has been perfect. Haha. I can't wait.
  2. @sophistre, I saw that on Instagram last night and loved it. Figures it's someone on here! So nice.
  3. @CultExciter, I'm friendly with Ed, their bassist. When he sent me their record a few weeks early, I didn't know what to expect, but I was totally floored. So damn good.
  4. At times, an incredible record and it almost made my list. The songs (and album as a whole) are just way too long for my attention span. Although I saw Kozelek play a two hour show a few months back and was spellbound the entire time. Weird sidenote about that album: right around the time it came out, I had spilled a bunch of gasoline in my garage trying to fix my lawnmower. I sopped it up with old cardboard and kitty litter, but it was a few days before trash day. I heard the song "Carissa" for the first time and spent two or three days panicked that I was going to kill myself, my wife, or a trash guy.

  6. Just realized that today makes it officially one month until I start my left arm with Grez at Kings Ave. I have my consult on Jan 2. I can't wait.
  7. That Iron Chic record is dope, but was last year. I thought it was this year too and originally had it on my list. I'm still kinda narrowing down. I have about seven set so far, but about ten others in contention for the last three spots! Haha.
  8. @9Years and @Killercook76 just blew the doors off this thing. Can't wait to see what else is here this month.
  9. That rules, @fairgreen. Seeing it on Instagram was one thing, but finally seeing it bigger on my computer screen is something else. I can't wait to see it when it's finished. So sick.
  10. Still so far away (January), but set my consult with Grez for my first of many sittings starting in late January. I feel like it's been booked for so long!
  11. @marley mission Thanks man! Philly is a great race. I've never done the half, but I did the full three years ago, and paced someone through the second half two years ago. I love it. And it's pretty much right in my backyard. I do most of my longer runs on the river loop anyway. Have fun and good luck. If you're looking for a plan at any point, let me know. I've got a handful of books and have followed plans from a variety of them for a number of distances.
  12. I'll be doing the half at Philly. Comin off a year-long series of injuries left me with minimal base. I figured I'd play it safe and stick to the half this year. I've been getting my mileage back up, and I'm really hoping to break 1:30. You gonna be there? How's your training?
  13. Run The Jewels 2 is out now. I remember someone (I think @CultExciter) posting about the first one last year, and I loved it. New one is pretty cool.
  14. I've been crazy busy this fall with the start of the school year, coaching xc, running my ass off, and getting ready for a baby in the spring. So, my internet and tattoo game has been nonexistent. However, I'm glad to see everyone still killing it. I get back in the game in Jan. Until then, keep it up, folks!
  15. I went last year and had a blast. Got tattooed by Scott Sylvia. Unfortunately, I'm running the Philadelphia half marathon that weekend this year, so I'm out.
  16. My wife has killer peonies from Martin Lacasse. I'll have to find the pics and repost when I'm on my computer.
  17. Haha, I was so surprised cause I never get PMs! What a let down that was.
  18. Yup, @Iwar pretty much covered it. In addition to the convention, shops like Frith, Seven Doors, and The Family Business are constantly cranking out killer work.
  19. I'll just say I agree with the others that the calf was definitely worse than the shin for me. I was expecting the shin to be terrible, but it was surprisingly easy.
  20. @Patrick Bateman I was actually shocked to hear an Inspector 7 song in The Wolf of Wall Street. I hadn't thought about them in forever. Now this thread is the second time in a week. Wild.
  21. @marley mission Nice! I did the Philly full three years ago as my first marathon. It went pretty well, but I made a lot of the first timer mistakes. Haha. The next year I ran the last half of it pacing a friend who was doing his first. It's a nice race for the most part. I wanted to do the full again, but I don't think my base is where I want it to be, and I'd end up just being unhappy with it. I figure the half would be a nice return to racing. Good luck there and in Baltimore! I've heard that's a nice race. @cutlexciter When is the Richmond marathon? How's your training been?
  22. After about a year of injuries and a slow return to running, I started my 14 week plan for the Philadelphia Half Marathon today. I haven't hit the track in quite a while, so it felt good to get out there and knock out some 600s. It's a pretty conservative plan so I probably won't come too close to my PR from two years ago, but I'll just be happy to get through it and to the starting line healthy.
