@BrianH Oh man, they're going to be so rough this year (and every year until they get a new GM who isn't working on scouting info from 2005). Of course, aside from that short stretch, they've been terrible most of my life, so I'm used to it. But this may be the year I follow the American League a bit more closely and look for a secondary team.

Baseball is the only thing I care about right now. Next week brings back Veep and Silicon Valley, which I'm excited for. Other than that, nothing is really blowing me away. If it wasn't for baseball, I'd love to get rid of my cable. And even then, I can try work arounds for that. My wife just won't give it up. This thread reminded me that I do need to check out Better Call Saul, though.

Fifth sitting on my arm is this Saturday at King's Avenue. Slowly chipping away and making progress. I'm going to try and figure out just how many more sessions we're looking at this weekend. I'm hoping to be done in three more, but we'll see I guess.

The ED HARDY Thread

Yeah, I don't think I'm doing the lectures either for a few reasons, but I'm getting tattooed that Saturday at 12:30 with Grez anyway. I'll definitely be checking out the art stuff and book signings or whatever. -

Kings Ave put tickets for his speaking events up on their website today. Not sure if they're sold out or not, but worth looking into. -
Show me your rib/abdomen tats!

@HettyKet I'm obviously biased and a huge Grez fan, but that's one of my favorites. His ability to play with space is incredible. -
Damn, whatever photo hosting service @Iwar put that up on is blocked at work. I'll have to check when I get home. I stare at @Eilin's Conn cat lady more than I care to admit. Such an incredible tattoo. I wish I could get to LA to get tattooed by him.

Nice. If I didn't already have a sitting on my arm that weekend, I would've tried to get in.

Good places to eat and drink around tattoo shops?

I hit up Mighty Quinn's barbecue this weekend right near KA (and Adorned, Invisible, etc). The sides were kinda hit or miss, but damned if all of the smoked meats we had weren't awesome. And, on top of it, the people were some of the most friendly I've encountered working in Manhattan. Haha. Highly recommended. Mighty Quinn's Barbeque -

Oh, awesome. I thought so, but I wasn't 100% sure. And obviously I didn't notice in person. Were you sitting with him? I think I sort of looked over your shoulder for a bit, but I didn't want to intrude. World almost collided. -

@CultExciter, I got there around 2:30 and was around 6. You? And yeah, his back looked sick. Then he talked to Grez about an eagle/Wu-tang mash up, and that's even cooler. Hahaha. -
Two hours for that outline? Good lord.

A lot of people have good stuff coming up. Can't say I'm jealous of @bongsau though! I'm excited to have another appointment with Grez coming up this weekend. Really glad to be making some serious progress on a lot of the black shading/grey clouds, so it's starting to come to life a bit.

When I was in King's Avenue on Saturday they were talking about this, and it seemed like everyone had a really good time. Chuck, in particular, was really excited about the pieces he picked up. - - - Updated - - - Also, in the picture you posted with the four dudes (two hard stylin), is the guy in the top left with the Cosby sweater an LSTer? He was getting his back worked on by O'Donnell on Saturday and it looked dooooope. -
Another session down with Grez on my arm. We finished up shading the eagle and added some brown into his body, as well as finished a bunch of clouds on my upper arm. I'm going back Saturday and I assume we'll move into more of the lower arm. Making some good progress. Once it gets to a solid point I'll post some pics. Pretty soon.

Got a call from King's Avenue today to fill a cancellation for this Saturday, so I'm actually sitting with Grez the this weekend and next to keep chippin away at my arm. I haven't really posted many pictures yet, but after Saturday the 14th, I may end up posting a few.

Good places to eat and drink around tattoo shops?
suburbanxcore replied to Graeme's topic in Random Crap
I think it was @Graeme who recommended it, but I ate at Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken when I was at King's Avenue a few weeks back, and I'll probably hit it up again in two weeks because it's close, cheap, and good. I got a sandwich, which was solid, but I want to try their straight up fried chicken next time. -
Tattooers on Edgeland podcast
suburbanxcore replied to suburbanxcore's topic in Tattoo TV Shows, Documentaries and Media
@Iwar My wrist just has a simple XsXeX in like old gothic lettering or something. Really basic and I don't have any great pics of it or anything. My other one is the Out of Step banner on my dagger from Scott. It's in my gallery. -
Tattooers on Edgeland podcast
suburbanxcore replied to suburbanxcore's topic in Tattoo TV Shows, Documentaries and Media
@Iwar, yep. Are you? Although I've never actually been super into straight edge hardcore or overly outspoken with my views, straight edge has definitely been an important part of my life. My first tattoo was actually a straight edge tattoo at 21, and then I got a second when I was 30 (XXX) years old. -
Disclaimer: I'm not sure if this is the right subforum or not, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Feel free to move it as you see fit. I don't know if anyone has heard of Edgeland podcast, but it's a weekly podcast that comes out every Friday. The host interviews someone who is currently/still straight edge in the first half hour, and then someone who has broken edge in the second half hour. It's obviously geared towards the hardcore/punk community, and it's most weeks the interviews are pretty good, regardless of your edge status. In addition to musicians, it's not uncommon for him to have tattooers on there. In the past he's had on Heather Bailey and Beau Brady (and maybe others I forget). This weeke's episode has DJ Rose in the edge section and Chad Koeplinger in the non-edge section. I haven't listened yet, but I thought it may be something people would be interested in. You can find it on iTunes or Stitcher (or whatever you use for podcasts probably), and also on twitter and Instagram (@edgelandpodcast).

Just checked back in here finally. Well done. You'll fit in nicely around here. Haha.

The ED HARDY Thread
suburbanxcore replied to Iwar's topic in Tattoo TV Shows, Documentaries and Media
So, in looking ahead at the calendar, I realized my May app at KA was while Grez will be at Blue Arms in Norway, so I had to reschedule. I was lucky enough to reschedule it for the weekend of the Ed Hardy show, so now I'll definitely be up for that. Stoked. -
@herewego Never said there was!
