  1. @Scott R Definitely very possible, but I was always just as nervous of pulling my phone or wallet out and a wad falling out on the subway or a bus or something. I always felt that a one block walk was safer than a few days of public transit and possibly losing my bookbag or something if I had it in there. I don't know that there's really one right or wrong answer, I guess.
  2. @cltattooing that is incredible. So awesome, and obviously @BrianH's is coming along perfectly. @Cork, thanks for posting that progression. I did somethings similar when I got my whole arm done, but it just doesn't photograph as well as the back to see the progress.
  3. He tattooed my whole shin/lower leg at the Pagoda City convention.
  4. No pictures until it's healed, but hot off the heels of my Scott Sylvia cobra/roses, I managed to grab a quick appointment from Oliver Peck on his one day trip into Philly. Snagged a little death's head moth. Good times!
  5. Of course that tiger that I was just raving about was someone on here. Hahaha. Well done @9Years.
  6. @Fala For sure. I've never travelled too much, but there are definite concerns. @polliwog also mentioned ATM/purchase maximums, which my bank has and has put a cramp in my style before. Better to ask and have some ideas than get burnt.
  7. I asked this recently in some thread and got a lot of these same replies. I used to try not to travel with too much on the busses and subways through New York. I would end up hitting ATMs once I got there, usually at the bodega right around the corner from Kings Avenue.
  8. After getting my shin/lower leg demolished for 3.5-4 hours on Friday, my leg is the size of a tree trunk!!
  9. I'm actually pretty sure all three of us were in a sort of row at the same time, @BrianH and @Gingerninja. All in all, a very good time, and we all got killer tattoos (or progress) out of it. I like the idea of us having a shirtless staring contest....especially since I was only getting my leg tattooed.
  10. I don't mean this as an insult, but after seeing Graham Beech and Marc Nava at Pagoda City this weekend, they look pretty damn young. But they're both crushing everything I see them putting out lately.
  11. Wow. @chrisnoluck that rules. A girl who pierces at my local shop got tattooed by Mike Friday night and it rules. And I feel you on the swelling. Scott Sylvia blasted my shin for four hours Friday afternoon and my leg is the size of a tree trunk right now. Once the swelling goes down and it heals up, I'll post it. But your hand fucking rules. @CABS and @taaarro, nicely done! As usual.
  12. This was awesome, and I got to meet @BrianH and make awkward eye contact with him while we were both in pain and he was shirtless.
  13. Can't wait for Friday. I know I said it before, but Scott Sylvia at Pagoda City. If I have time, I may also snag something from my local regular artist, Keith Reed, who will also be there.
  14. Oh awesome. Thanks for anyone that voted! Also, I can definitely understand the reservation of entering sometimes. Until now, every tattoo I'd entered in a monthly contest was a one-shot that got beaten (deservedly, most likely) by a bigger piece or a backpiece or something. Hell, even this month I almost didn't enter when I saw some of the other entries.
  15. @sophistre, I don't think so? I generally wait to post anything in there until it's healed, but I don't believe that's a requirement.
  16. That's a perfect quote, @Graeme. Also, I think I just decided that I want Pat Haney to put a tiger head on my knee. Somehow I don't have a tiger tattoo, and I don't have anything from Pat, despite him having been back in the Philly area for a year or two now. I'll have to remedy both of those things.
  17. That rules. I'd let anyone in that shop tattoo me. Can't wait to see what you end up with!
  18. I know I posted it on one of the photos, but I feel bad for whoever has to follow @hogg's takeover. That was incredible. I had a friend who just kept texting me throughout the day every time a new one came up. Haha. I'd seen a lot of them from the gallery on here, but the stories were great and gave terrific insight.
  19. Haha, I was immediately wondering about that tiger as well. Those are both incredible tattoos. Well done, sir.
  20. @BrianH I'll be there on Friday, first appt of the convention for Scott Sylvia. When is your appointment? There's a sort of tacky, but decent, Mexican restaurant across the way if you wanna grab some food or drinks. Same for anyone else who may be there!
  21. Just emailed back and forth with Scott Sylvia and nailed down a time for a big ass snake on my leg at Pagoda City.
  22. @misterJ that looks so good, as does the progress shot Mike posted recently. I can't wait to see this thing fully finished.
