JEALOUS!!!!!!!! ;) I got a small piece done by Tim a few years back, having no idea who he was. I have followed his work ever since and have a similiar trip high on my wish list. It doesn't matter what you get. It's gonna be killer no matter what. Congrats! Look forward to seeing it! Oh and yes. He is such an awesome dude too.

Thought I'd post this here. I put it up in the 'awesome things you have been doing' thread but, I'm pretty proud of this so, here it is again ;) This is Jon Knight and Soulstack, a band that I play in, from our show at the Montreal Jazz Festival this past Saturday. I'm just coming off an awesome weekend in Quebec. I'm a working musician and play in a band called Jon Knight and Soulstack. If you are into a roots/rock/soul/blues/ kinda thang, check us out on the interwebs. We just played at the Montreal Jazz Festival and Mont Tremblant International Blues Festival on Saturday and Sunday respectively to fabulous crowds that energized us and inspired us to play the majority of our asses off ;) It was a blast ! My last tattoo was my fifth in total, but it was the first in a number of years. 80% coverage of my inner bicep. It was the first time I could remember being instructed to let it dry out and that lotion was somewhat optional. The work was done on a Tuesday and I waited til Friday to apply anything after washing. I started using Aveeno prompted by what I thought to be a massive amount of peeling and feared that I had waited too long. I kept up with the Aveeno for a couple of weeks to prevent the skin from feeling tight and itchy. The results seem to be fine. I have always been very careful with new work but have always lived in fear of inadvertantly fucking things up. Other than the picking off of scabs, are there ways that we can loose ink during the healing process?

Thanks @Shaun1105. I just checked out the Okey Doke website and yeah, there is some pretty stellar work coming out of there. Do you find that Tim and Franz have similiar styles? I was really impressed with the work of Alex Snelgrove, especially the hand poked stuff. Wow! I had seen her name here on LST but had no idea she worked in Toronto. Very cool.

Well, for better or worse, here's a brand new pic of my first tatoo. I still love it despite its obvious short comings, although, it has looked better to me in the mirror than it does in the pic. Ugh! LOL! It is now between 29 and 26 years old. I metioned a few deatails about it the "Dropping the bomb..." thread. The original design and tattoo was done by Carol Nightingale. Any way, in terms of the tattoo...... Origanally done in the winter of '83, it was re-done and had birds and filagree added by George Lewis in Kitchener, Ontario around '86 or so. At this point I don't know who to blame for what LOL.....but I still love this. This is the walk in piece that I got from Tim Hendricks in Miami in 2006. As stated in my intro post, it is simple, traditional and, imho, f**king awesome ;) This pic was taken earlier this evening, June 2, 2013 by my patient room mate. It resides on my left pec. We took a few shots and then the hairy beast that I am decided to do a bit of shaving to do it justice. I'm itchy already lol!!! I have some pics of the session that I hope to reclaim from a broken computer. This tattoo means a lot me on many levels. And, it may give me the distinction of being one of very few people to have their mother-in-law's name tattooed over their heart :) This was also the first of my tattoos that I didn't pick off the wall....I had an idea, among many others that I didn't bother to pursue because time was too precious.Keep in mind, I had no idea who was working on me. Just a super cool nice dude with obvious skill. While we waied, we watched him complete a b&g army helicopter scene on a gentleman's back that was amazing. It was the first time I had an tattoer interperet an idea for me. Without detailing the whole experience, when he came back with the drawing I had to take some time with it because, although it contained the elements I was after, it was different compositionally than what I had in my minds eye at the time. Perfect lesson in "Trust Your Artist -101". It was a great lesson for me, again, on many levels. Thanks Tim. I look at his every day and love as much if not more than the day I got it :)
