Oh gosh, GCL! I looked ataxia up, didn't know what it was. Do you know what it's from? I'm glad you have your boyfriend and great friends to support you.

Spent a weekend watching the Three's Company dvd's my brother got me for my birthday. That's about as awesome as it's been around here lately. We're pretty lame. Trying to convince husband we need a dog I saw on a rescue website. He's soooo not going for it. Dill hole. I've already got her name picked out and every stuff. gah. Oh, we celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary last Sunday, so I guess that's kinda awesome, that I've been able to not smother him in his sleep for 12 years.

You guys look so cute! We are crayons for our preschool class every year.

Oh fun! I loved English in school. I'm almost done getting my CDA. I work w/special needs preschoolers. Not that that is the same as going back to get a teaching degree and working w/High Schoolers...just commiserating on having school work to do again!

That's great! What ages are you going to teach?

As far as support and the things Synesthesia is talking about...if he's not really in your corner, then you might want to think Why. Does he feel he's more important? His wants/needs/feelings/ideas/opinions are superior or more important than yours? I know there are times when SO's don't agree w/everything, JD and I don't, but it's BIG stuff that hurts a relationship, if there isn't agreement, or compromise of some sort. Body modification, in my eyes, is right up there with politics and religion, in the emotions it can bring to the surface. Some people, for whatever reason, just have such strong reactions/objections to the idea of tattoos. To me, it's like if I was a huge PETA fanatic, and JD a hunter. You can have someone who doesn't care for tattoos be w/someone who does and has several, if the non-caring partner doesn't have such a guttural reaction to them. I'm not trying to be like dumb him, he doesn't like tattoos, he's the devil. Just, to think about things, talk w/him. -
Husband left on vacation Sunday morning and was done hunting and back home last night! Thought I'd get a bunch of work out of him since he wasn't supposed to be home until Friday but now he's got a cold, and we allllll know how it is when the man has a cold. Plus side, our daughter auditioned for a play a couple days ago and I've heard nothing but great things, so fingers crossed she gets a part!

Yay for volunteering in a shelter! - - - Updated - - - The storm ended up not being near as bad as it could've been, thankfully! We had one come thru town a few years ago and that was wicked-definitely the scariest weather I've ever been thru.

Your overall look as a tattooed person

When I was growing up, tattoos were always something bikers had. I dated a guy who didn't like them, and when I got my third tattoo, he was not thrilled, and joked about calling me "biker bitch"...that third tattoo happened to be Tigger holding three daisies. That's really what all the Biker Bitches are getting, right?? Then I dated another guy who tried to force me to not get my 4th, a tree frog. I told him I wasn't living my life according to his sense of beauty. Now I'm married to a guy who digs the shit out of tattoos and encourages me to get more...and some of what I want are things he doesn't like and guess what? I don't care. I want him to find me attractive, obviously, but at the end of the day, if I think it's pretty, and I want it on me, I'ma git it. I like looking at tattoos on women. I probably look like some weird stalker or something, but I find them very feminine, and I like to admire, say, the curve of a shoulder that is tattooed. It's beautiful. -

I'd say if you're worried something is too masculine for you, then it's not the right tattoo for *you*. If it's right for *you*, it shouldn't matter if it's...I don't know, what's masculine, a big ole monster truck? If that's what you like, then that's what you get. and if someone says they don't like it, then you say "Yes, well, maybe it's not your taste, and that's fine. I happen to think you're a fucking knob, however I have too much tact to say it." And then you punch them in the throat. -
Spent over an hour sitting in the basement w/the kids tonight while the tornado sirens were going off. Posting updates on FB while listening to the traffic on my husband's department radio. The tornado came 1 mile south of us and then disappeared. After it had tracked on the ground for about 60 miles or so-and it was a mile wide-just poof, it was gone. Craaaazy.

awww Tortuga is a cute idea! So far her name is Goose...I'm trying to call her by name often, so I can see how it feels and sounds when I say it.
-
jeezalou the lighting in our kitchen is horrendous. Least you can see her better.
-
No name kitty. Terrible picture but she's still roaming everywhere and hasn't been still since we got back. Can't really see her face..she has bright yellow eyes. Now we have three Tortie kitties. All because of Bella Jo, our original tortie. So, we have Britta Rose, who is 11.5, Clementine Isabelle that I got from this same shelter last November, and then this new one with no name yet. (we also have a grey and white cat named Opilio) Seuss Mirabel Goose Mirabel Oleander Mirabel (would call her Ole) I also thought about Seuss Goose b/c then it rhymes like Dr. Seuss. I considered Turtle, but then I'm sure we'd just call her Turtle head and I don't want that! Husband wants Goose.
-
hahaha soon! I love kitties. My dad wants the stray, so she'll probably go out to their house. Shelter kitty has no name yet.
-
got two new kitties. one from a shelter and one that was a stray kitten in our backyard.

Ami James has a new show? Hot, buff, bald, tattooed guy? I'm in.

What about when you are old and wrinkled?!

I had a coworker tell me the old men in the nursing home will be excited to see me when I am old b/c they'll think I'm loose. If Johnny Depp also happens to be in the same nursing home, well then, yeah, duh. -
Yeah, I forget not everything is FDA approved.
-
The only thing I'd do differently is I wouldn't have gotten my feet done initially, I woulda waited so that I could have them done perfectly the first time and not have to do cover ups-mainly b/c I can still see the original stuff under it-even tho no one else can, *I* see it. I do kinda wish the couple three tattoos that I have that are flash, that I'd gone a more custom route instead--but back in the day I didn't know anything about that, you just picked something off the wall and that was the end of it. Soooo ok, two things.
-
Wow-it sounds like a whole heap of a mess. How in the world did it ever get approved? Well, I know for sure I'll never recommend it to anyone. Thanks for the continued input everyone!
-
jewelry, lady! And it's totally retroactive.

Congratulations!!

double post. not sure how I managed that.
