yeah nothing to worry about you will have some ink mixing with body fluids. This usually last like a day or so. Totally normal! - - - Updated - - - maybe it is caused by too much ointment .. keep the plastic on for only a day. When you start switching to lotion don't over do it. Less is more.

ok cool!! yeah I do understand your situation but a nautical star is a somewhat simple design. I think that is why most people have that kind of advice. It wouldn't hurt to at least talk it over with the artist. If he/she is reasonable then there shouldn't be a problem. Just be respectful and you should be fine . Don't ever be afraid to be honest with a tattoo artist . At the end of the day I'm sure they want you to be totally happy with your tattoo. NO? Anyway hope it works out for you!!

come on now! - - - Updated - - - Is there a way to get a refund? Usually they will give you partial refunds especially if they didn't draw anything yet. I see what you are talking about but there isn't too much you can do with it. I don't think you should go back to the same person. Even if you loose your deposit. is it worth it to go back and get another tattoo you are not happy with? I don't know make up an excuse and see if he will give you back at least some of the money. I know how expensive tattoos are but mistakes can be so much more costly . Just save up as much money as you can until you can afford a tattoo from artist that can accomplish what you are looking for. where are you from btw?

Tegaderm/Saniderm/Tatuderm healing process
Killercook76 replied to Bigboy67's topic in Tattoo After Care
Ok I will agree that I do come off negative too. I do agree that there are a lot of different ways in terms of aftercare. I think at the end do what works for you. ive read a lot of threads and you do the same thing. haha! it's kinda funny how you are saying something that you do a lot of too. Having said that.. There are some people who will say something negative without using this product. That is why I get kinda corny or whatever you want to call me. Like saying this is no good when they never used it and taking advice of people who never used it too. Salesman? I wish !! -

Graeme I see that you have some nice tattoos. I'm sure you have a lot of good advice to people who aren't as tattooed as you. Having said that you comment on almost every thread I've read on this website. It seems you always have a very negative way about you.. If you don't like how the way I comment on this product. You have a choice not to use it. I admit that I comment on this a lot and I can see how people can be sick of it.. but think about.. If someone wrote a thread that plastic wrap is garbage for tattoos .. I'm sure you would have a lot to say about how well it heals your tattoos. Not trying to start a fight.. I know i don't know you personally but what is the point with all the hating... If you were a tattooer that is a different story but ... this site is becoming more and more like high school.. no? -

Tegaderm/Saniderm/Tatuderm healing process
Killercook76 replied to Bigboy67's topic in Tattoo After Care
I'm not saying wrapping with plastic is bad.. Most people still follow this as their aftercare. An artist who tattooed me wrapped my ribs with this product after a tattoo session. Since then I've used it for all my tattoos. I haven't had one scab. Healing for me has been extremely comfortable and easy since then. In the past when I developed scabs it would accidentally get caught on my clothing. I didn't pick at it or scratch it.. This product was not developed for tattoos. It's just some people found that it worked well to heal them. Many people will say just use the old plastic wrap because people have been doing this way for years. All I am saying is I've used it and many well know tattooer love this product and used it on themselves.. It's easy for people to say this is some kind of gimmick when they themselves never used this product on a tattoo. The choice is yours... If you don't want to spend a couple of dollars more for tegaderm. Then don't and keep on doing what you are doing.. btw a 50 pack of tegaderm 4x4 size is like 25 dollars. That equals to like 50 cents per sheet. Usually it takes maybe a couple of dollars worth to cover a decent size tattoo. -

I've used it on three of my tattoos. Did your friend ever use this product on a tattoo? As far as price goes scabs can be fixed but not all the time. I have a couple that have been touched up and still noticeable... Since using this product I haven't developed any scabs. The three tattoos I used it where big . Honestly what is the point commenting on a product you never used before on a tattoo?? -

Killercook76 replied to Bigboy67's topic in Tattoo After Care
well maybe it was sweating that much that killed the adhesive? Yeah I wouldn't recommend doing anything that strenuous after putting on the tegaderm. Just imagine if you put the plastic wrap before you started shoveling snow? If you decide to use it again just make sure you have a couple of days of relaxation after. -

Killercook76 replied to Bigboy67's topic in Tattoo After Care
Haha yeah you are correct in saying aftercare whatever way you choose can be equally effective. If it's not broke don't fix it is a good way to follow aftercare. The reason I started using it was because of a artist who i highly respect recommended it . If I saw this forum without the recommendation of these artist I wouldn't have used it. Also the old way wasn't working that well for me. It wasn't consistent .. Some times I would get scabs other times no. Last time I used the old way I got some nasty looking scabs mostly because it was in a area that my jeans would rub against it. This product gives you the freedom to not worry about many negative things about using plastic wrap. For example after a tattoo session when I get home it seems the plastic always comes half way . No matter how careful I am. Try it! I have a friend that didn't want to use it because he wasn't sure. After countless appointment on his back and all the scabs he is finally going to use it on his next tattoo. Change is always difficult but it wouldn't hurt to at least try the product then form whatever opinion you have. -

Industry standard? It's not because if you ask the thousands of tattooers they will all tell you different ways of how you should handle your aftercare. Do what works for you.. If you don't think this product is for you then don't use it!!! HAHA!! Anyway I think it's not used by more shops and artist is because it is more expensive . I think it's worth it because at the end of the day touch ups can get expensive for various reasons. Any aftercare can be messed up by human error so go by whatever you like. This tread is for those who are interested in using it. Feel free to take our advice or move on and not use it. Plain and simple.. - - - Updated - - - I wouldn't exactly call this a gimmick just a different way to approach aftercare. So far I haven't heard anything negative from users that I know. I'm sure someone has something they don't like about it but that is with everything. -
Etiquette -- after the design is drawn up
Killercook76 replied to keepcalm's topic in General Tattoo Discussion
I could understand that situation.. My last artist drew it up the day of my tattoo. I actually prefer that because 1. It really cool watching someone the whole process. 2. The artist usually ask me if i want it like this or that. Ultimately if your artist draws a design and you aren't feeling certain parts then don't feel bad and tell him/her. Even if the artist gives you a look or whatever it's better than not saying anything and not being 100 percent happy with your tattoo. I'm sure the artist knows better but still it wouldn't hurt to discuss and come up with a compromise. -
Such a smooth well done tattoo!

Can I Have Everyones Attention Please?
Killercook76 replied to ian's topic in General Tattoo Discussion
Honestly I used to comment all the time but i put this site on my strike list for a while because of this exact reason. Thanks for sharing your experiences too. Not saying i've never said anything negative but some of us .. it seems like they go on this site constantly and look for questions that could be dumb questions. While I do think some of these questions are dumb or whatever we all could choose to not answer them and do something more productive with our time... No? I understand some of us have amazing tattoos and probably heard it all but WE ARENT TATTOO ARTIST!! How do we know what tattoo artist are annoyed by??? Actually all the artist that I've been in contact with have been super nice and professional. Also if someone walks in a tattoo shop with no tattoos and ask questions like .... I'm sure that these artist are more than happy to explain . If someone who has a lot of tattoos then that is another story. I feel extremely lucky to have tattoos from these amazing artist! Jumping on anyone who has a question that you may think is basic or stupid then we have a choice. Either we can understand where they are coming from and answer or don't answer at all. Oh in this day in age they should know already.. Really!??? -
I feel that you should be looking for specific photo reaslism aritst. Just find a good pic or a couple of ideas what you want and they can reproduce those ideas very easy!

Try tegaderm for healing. If you're on Instagram I have some information on it @Killercook76

state of grace is an incredible shop. Incredible artist. Meaning behind tattoos are great but I feel it's more important to find a design that is awesome. Best research site that I like is Instagram. Follow people like Mike Rubendall, Regino Gonzales, Chris Garver, Chris O donell, Shige, Federico Ferroni, Vincent Moisdon. Yeah if you check out their friends list you should see hundreds of high end artist. Most important is find an amazing artist they will layout your tattoo .

How much time did it take for these tattoos?
Killercook76 replied to finegentleman's topic in Tattoo Advice
Haha! Ok cool thanks for the response! Yes this site is awesome for that reason but there will always be questions like this! I do agree that this question isn't something that can be answered by any of us. The only person that can is the artist. Yes a lot of stupid questions I agree but usually I just laugh it off and call it a day. I'm just happy I don't have to take the time any answer all these questions otherwise I would be a ... I've asked artist how do you respond to stupid questions. Luckly the artist I've received tattoos from are super nice ! They usually tell me I need to pay the bills so... haha! Anyway like I said we have a choice to answer these questions or just laugh it off and move on. - - - Updated - - - I agree. That is why i'm happy i started getting tattooed at a stage of my life where I can afford good ones! -
How much time did it take for these tattoos?
Killercook76 replied to finegentleman's topic in Tattoo Advice
I kinda agree with you but.. Some of us are on this site a lot and see the same questions asked and answered all the time but.. Other are new to the site and honestly who has the time to look through all the different threads. I feel that some of these questions are so stupid but that is because I've learned the answers to many of these questions through getting tattooed.. So people who don't have tattoos or not as much then this should be a great place to come. Since most of us have quality tattoos. I feel the frustration of you guys who are experienced in this site and see it all but do we have to dismiss all of those who aren't? It's an easy fix! If you see a question that you don't like then don't answer it! Can you imagine if you went to tattoo shop for the first time ever and asked the artist how much do you charge and about how long . These questions all of us have asked at one point in the beginning of our tattoo journey. So you have to kinda understand. No? I've asked this to many artist but kinda like how many sessions are we looking at? They usually tell me roughly. Other times they are exact. For example when I got tattooed at Gold Rush with Tim. I emailed him and asked is this something we can do in one sitting. Then he said yes. Then I asked how much do you charge he informed me that he charges by the piece and only charges by the hour for larger tattoos. After that he told me the exact price. I already knew his rates are super reasonable from the mouth of other tattoo artist but just needed to know . Other artist that charge by the hour well that is a different story I guess... I've learned that so many factor are involved with this question but not all of us understand this. Especially those who are new to the tattoo world like all of us at one time . So if you don't like a persons question then instead of being frustrated or angry then you have a choice to not read the thread. I know it's hard but for example if you go to a restaurant and don't like a particular dish on the menu don't order it!! -
How much time did it take for these tattoos?
Killercook76 replied to finegentleman's topic in Tattoo Advice
I guess this question is something that you will learn with time. HaHa Seriously I recently got a big panther and I thought it was going to take less then it actually did. I guess because it was so much solid shading etc. I know from experience scales, japanese backgrounds, and blending colors take a lot longer than you think. Yeah different artist will usually be a little faster. That is why some of the high caliber artist charge more. It's because they are fast and something that another artist may take say 10 hours they can do in 7. So when it comes to price don't be sticker shocked. Actually it comes out to the same price. Also the more you get tattooed from these guys it opens doors and it's easier to get work from other awesome artist. At the end of the day go for quality rather than price. Most of these artist that are mentioned on this site are incredible. To you it may seem like humm that doesn't look any better than my artist that is much cheaper. When you look at it in person and when it heals etc . You can see the difference in quality and also artistically. I've learned that BOLD tattoos are the best !!! If you look at a tattoo from across the room and can't really tell what it is right away -

I did too ! HA! My artist just said he's bad at estimating. I think he gave me a ball park answer?? I don't think they really mind too much as long as youre polite and have enough money. I'm usually good at guessing.. most of the time. -
How much time did it take for these tattoos?
Killercook76 replied to finegentleman's topic in Tattoo Advice
Yo how much and how long! LOL. Sometimes it take a lot longer than you think. Other times shorter! Half sleeve can go anywhere from 15 to 20 to 25 hours .. it all depends on sooo many things. I usually prepare to pay about 500 to 1000 dollars more just in case. I wouldn't start an email to these artist with that question ! You may not get a response! -
I love Kim's tattoos ! She does super nice work especially flowers. I love the squid and girl that she posted recently! - - - Updated - - - I'm not sure you can call what I had connections. I think there are many factors that is involved when artist pick clients to tattoo. I think some people can be inpatient (me included). It can get a bit frustrating but even though I get inpatient I always follow a super respectful and nice approach and this usually always works out. I don't really have an answer how I get these appointments from artist like Garver, Corey miller, Tim , etc. Waiting for me is sometimes a good thing because it gives me time to make sure on the design and also save money.
