  1. Celebrity Laser Spa with Dr. Kaplan in Los Angeles, CA

    - - - Updated - - -

    I gotta say, though. It's pricey. $1,000.00 / 30 minute. Although he's giving me a grand for 45 minutes.

wow - how big is the piece? I have about 6 sessions in so far on two arm sections. 3 with traditional and 3 with pico on very recent and very dark black and grey work. it's definitely working, but a little slower than hoped. I think I am going to do 9 sessions total. paying $350 for about 20 minutes of laser time. trying to do a cover-up.

  2. Anybody out there had any treatment with a picosecond laser? I think the only one out right now is Picosure from Cynosure.... the marketing would have you believe this is the best thing in 20 years, will remove tattoos 2-3x faster, cure gout, etc. I believe the first units shipped within the past month or so.

I personally visited a physician in my area that recently took delivery in hopes of speeding up a lightening of my arm for a cover-up. I have a very dark black and grey section about 4x7" that is being worked on. I am already 3 sessions in with a Nd:YAG (I think that's right), and had my fourth session with a Picosure machine last week. Only negative was that I didn't have the option of a cold air machine with the Picosure - but the pain was manageable and seemed less than the standard laser treatment. Can't really tell much so far - other than I think the doctor had it turned up pretty good as I blistered a bit. I'm hoping for good things, we'll see.

Oh, as for price... I was quoted the same price as I was paying for a standard treatment (different facilities), so kind of a no brainer for me to try the Picosure out.

Would love to hear anybody else going this route.

PS I probably sound like a shill - but I am sort of excited if this will work faster. I wasn't too pleased with how my treatment was going after 3 sessions with the Nd:YAG ....

PPS Here's a list of doctors that have the Picosure in the US:

  3. You're welcome! I'll be sharing more as I film / edit / upload them.

Mike thanks for the insightful response - I look forward to more videos.

I have had blisters as my treatment has become more aggressive, but not massive blisters so I thought I'd ask your thoughts. I recently had a treatment with Picosure, which I am hoping will speed up the process. It did seem less painful, so I'd say that's a plus too. Have you worked with Picosure or have plans to? actually I see that I can post a thread now so I am going to start one on Picosure.....

  4. Like a lot of people I've gone for the keep it clean 2x a day for the first few days (dial soap or something from a pump) covered with Aquaphor and then switched to Aveeno green top lotion. Nothing too special - but it has worked without any issues.

I will say that the only time I've had trouble healing was when I didn't keep the area clean. I wore the same shirt for a few days and my chest tattoo got a bit red and irritated - a small section that had more damage to the skin than the rest. Once I kept the tattoo clean and covered with a clean bandage it healed up pretty quick over the next few days.

  5. Figure as it's up on Xam's Instagram I'd throw this progress shot here too. Colour in a couple of weeks, got all the black done in basically a couple of hours earlier today at The Family Business in London.

Man has that shop changed since I was last in a couple of years ago, it's at least doubled in size with a new brighter, modern feeling area built out into the next door shop. Tons of artists there as well now.

love Xam's work - thanks for posting that up it looks awesome. anybody know if he visits the US?

  6. I posted this on my introduction thread, but I just got the tattoo last week so why not post it here too.... Got my first tattoo from Nathan Kostechko while he was doing a guest spot at Ink and Dagger. a little snake with pattern on my chest - almost didn't get to put a pattern in because he doesn't travel with his patterns, but there was a book at Ink and Dagger we were able to use. I wanted an asanoha pattern, but I think this worked out nicely.

  7. haha I wish I had Nate around to do all my tattoos - not that I don't like what I have. no, the snake is the only tattoo I have from him. the other stuff on my torso is from Russ Abbott and my arm/shoulder peeking out is Kurt Fagerland.

    thanks for the welcome.

  8. Hello - just trying to follow the rules here and do an introduction! Been lurking for a bit - looks like everyone's got some nice tattoos on here. Maybe I should have checked this place out before I got started.

I live in the South (US) and have been getting black and grey tattoos so far. I am interested in tattoo removal, particularly for cover ups. Hoping to post over in that forum at some point if I'm allowed to.

I don't know how many tattoos I have, but it's more than I should have in the time I've been getting them. I got a snake recently - pretty happy with it.

Obviously I don't care to say too much on the internet, so I'll leave it at that!
