He only teaches unarmed stuff, so I think Rorys description is close. Not that SWAT doesnt train in unarmed combat. In Finland we have Karhuryhmä Karhu Team - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia -

The English wiki is a lot different than the finnish. In the english ROA they only speak about military, but in the finnish one also about police. And the police holds the trainings for people who want to teach the "Special forcible means" :) That is the term from finnish police website. I guess they just directly translated from finnish to english :P So, I have no idea what the correct term is! -

Ovo vegetarianism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia They eat egs. But they arent vegan. The modern day with all the things with names :) Mac Danzig (MMA) is also vegan. Dont know what type. Started a new cycle in deadlift after a rest week. Doing a 4RM and again taking 5% off. I was hungry and shaking, so my 5% was 10% :D Oh well... Also should have done press, but my shoulder muscle (or something in there) has been acting for a few weeks, so I skipped it. Dont feel nothing when doing deads, or when I rotate my arm. Certain upwards positions tighten it. Getting it checked on monday. Just ran in my apartment in the 8th floor. Fuck me, Im out of shape. I was breathing like a idiot for 5 minutes. Then after 15minutes did 10 burpees. Then fuck it! Had a Aikido camp this weekend. Great stuff! The teacher that we had is also a Rules of engagement teacher (I had to look it up what it is in English), so his aikido is soft, fast but oh so real life oriented! Rules of engagement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia edit. Hmmm. I guess the ROE isnt the correct term because he doesnt teach military, but guards etc. -
Too gimmicky for my taste.

Have you visited a massage therapist? I dont know what the correct term is in USA, but dont go to a spa type massage. In Finland we have urheiluhieroja, which loosely translates to sport massause. Is athletic trainers closer? According to wiki they massage also. But, go to a good massage person and have them massage your legs. Has helped me shitloads. -

Welcome to my life. I loved beer and had a back surgery years and years ago. Im still loosiing the extra. Still loads to go, but all you can do is drink less, eat better and train/rest/train/rest etc. Start slow if you havent done anything in a while. -

I agree. There is a similar aspect to kettlebells as there is to crossfit. Religious... Many HC people only praise the basic movements (snatch etc) to obsession. That you shouldnt think outside the box. Similar to doing this and that machine in the gym and not doing compounds. Similar but not. -

Jaycel Well, they are great. Cardio and strenght in one package. I usually use them as a warm up, but you xan easily do a whole program with them. Military presses, turkish get ups, swings, push presses are all great. Check out vids of Steve Cotter and Pavel Tsatsoulines enter the kettlebell. -
If I remeber correctly Rogans was done by Aaron from Guru Tattoo. Dave has stuff from guys like Mark Mahoney etc.

Cork, that is a better look tham 99% of americans have. Kyle. Post pics of you when you were competing! Yiu were ripped! OK, numbers. Im one work out shy from finishing my singels deadlift routine before changing it. Started 2/13/2012 (my first time REALLY deadlifting) with 110kg, did 125kg 3/28/2012. Still loads to improve. But have to start from something. -

Its is a great basic program. The big three which you can use as long as it provides results. I can speak froma personal experience that majority of us average joes try to look too much of the ones X and Z pro guy is doing and get frustrated because it is too complex, too advanced or similar and then stop after a month. Basic stuff is basic stuff, meaning it works. Fuck, you could do that Ripoetoe program for the rest of your life by just tweaking the numbers and get results. Its not like you would get poor condition from it. -
