  1. Yeah, Horimatsu also said that the background is as important as the images in the foreground. I'ts all the same root, they both compliment eachother. Or should, I think
  2. OK :D I was expecting a scene out of Toxic Avenger... Wait, they ARE in a diner in that scene!!
  3. I cant remember who said it that if you do a banner, the letters should be INSIDE it. If not, why use the banner in the first place. As you see people make the letters go outside the banner even if they are half in there. Like they are too big for it. Comments?
  4. Yeah. That album is perfect. And I mean perfect as in Amazing lyrics that I can compare with out hint of sarcasm to lyrics from people such as: Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, fucking Neil Gaiman. Anyone who can write so much in so few words is someone to admire to Just the perfect lenght. You just listen to it and press play again. And fuck, how many albums are there where the opening is as amazing as "The Outsiders (AKA Hell is for Heroes, Part 1)" Fuck choruses.
  5. Yeah, one of the best bands ever. Heres my interview with Jeffrey when they were just starting their final tour. Its fucking long, as all my interviews DREAMWORLD REALISM: Interview with Jeffrey Eaton
  6. Filip did this backpiece in 14 hours if I recall right Angus Vail | Photos on Myspace
  7. Tim Commeford from Rage Against The Machine has a great backpiece. I cant remember how old I was when I saw this the first time. Maybe like 16 or so, but I remember that back then I thought how cool the tattoos is, but for years and years I was just too... I dont know if affraid is the right word, maybe too harsh. I was just too self-conscience (sp?) and too concerned what other people would have thought (even if I act like I didnt give a fuck) if I got something so "lame, boring and normal". It was same with Traditonal Japanese and Americana. I had to grow as a person to let myself love those styles. Fuck! I wish there would have been more sense in me (and fucking GOOD artists in here) so I could have gotten something like this in my arms (attached), rather than the shit I have now. And now I have a skin disorder that hinders A LOT my changes of getting tattooed... Fuck. This is the first time it has gotten to me really. Sorry about the rant! About backpieces, this is weird and cool by Volker
  8. Have to again hype Norm WILL RISE Would love to get tattooed by him
  9. You are your path. Obviously Higgs has read my blog about him (with the use of a time machine), because that was my point ;)
  10. Horimatsu/Matti Sedholm www.horimatsu.com My favorite Tradtional Japanese style artist. Does tebori, lives in Sweden. I was ready to go and get my back done by Matti but he unfortunetaly had to cancel just week before my appointment, and knowing life, havent had a change to get back (no money, bad skin problems, time etc). He is the MAN
  11. ELECTRIC TATTOO - ART BY TOMY YAK http://tomyak.com/home.html Ah, that is why :) Does he get to tattoo the Enso circle?
  12. Robert Ryan told me that 99% of his reference books arent tattoo related. That doesnt really help... Sorry :) Or does it...
  13. I had a weird clitch just now when I was logging in. I typed my name and then when I typed my password, it didnt show up as the black dots, but as normal text. I deleted it and was thinking what the fuck. Then I wrote it again, pushed enter, and for a few seconds the password was as writing and then turned to black dots. Anyone else had this?
  14. Maan, this thread is killer. Clark North had a great backpiece concept painting in his myspace years back. Couldnt find it anymore. It was kinda like Filips only water but with cherry blossoms. How I like my backpieces. Like breathing in and out. Simple and calm.
  15. Yeah! I missed that you were not 18 yet. So I agree with Jake
  16. Cool. I have been wanting to get the Ensō circle tattooed on me for years. Ens Too bad I have this fucking idiotic skin... Well, have to just do what the tattoo would mean then ;)
  17. Carl Sagan IS THE MAN btw! One of my heroes. This is from above my computer I say what Julio said. Do that in Newcastle. Too bad you dont live near Bailey Hunter Robinsson, he does killer native american stuff Copper Beehive – Tattooing by Bailey Hunter Robinson
  18. Hmmm. Well, less is more. I much rather would want to see a portfolio where there is like 20 tattoos with maybe even a brief description about what they really want to do. I mean, why not? If there is a eagle and the artist wants to do eagles that are more like flash from the 1930, as the one he maybe has in his portfolio, and not so much from the 1970's, then write it there. I dont know if artists do this, but there are no rules. Put photographs in your portfolio of stuff you are drawn to. Fucking poems or shit. And what RockelMan said is a great advice. Its boring to see 300 pics of tattoo work and have no sense of reason in them
