Great shit Dan does! Dan talks about Outsider art and I agree that it shows in his stuff. When I first got into Dan Higgs, I immediately recognized the same aura as in outsider art. In the museum I work in, we have pretty big Outsider art exhibition. Called ITE-Art. ITE-Taide in Finnish. Same crude, childlike stuff.

How did you decide to cover yourself?

There as a great story in one of the tattoo time mags. I think it was in Tattoo Time? Fuck, can remember. It was either Thom Devita, Ed Hardy, Mike Malone or someone else who told how one girl got a person hanged as a tattoo and to her it was about horrible acts. But everyone thought her to be racist. And then there was other stuff relating to gory etc images. Was it Tattoo Time? Or maybe TAM? Can remember... Fuck... Was it the one I did with Robert Ryan? And it was Daniel Higgs? Might have been that one. Fuck, now this post seems like some publicity stunt so that everyone will read it! ... :D -

I just get (when I am able to again) classic looking stuff. Shit that will look good when I am 70. The lower part of my arms will have something that gives others (and me of course) a good feeling. Tattoos are visible, social, and I want them to match my inner persona. Even more when they are visible to everyone most of the time. Now my lower part of arms have shit. Grude horror tattoo, some crap I took when I didnt know any better and some text. Not me. Or not the world I want to portray. This is a good text -
Marcus Kuhn's New Project
Petri Aspvik replied to Avery Taylor's topic in Tattoo TV Shows, Documentaries and Media
That was just heartwarming. I feel really good now. At first the pace was little hectic, music blasting over Santoros and Marcus was talking over them little too much. But when they went in the Tibetan museum, it was like swooosh! Marcus was calmer and whole of the vibe shifted. You could just see when he talked that he had that warmth in his belly. That exitment. Love it. And when Thomas talked about the more complex patterns and how they link to the brain being complex... Yes. A cycle. And he explained the pover of Tribal tattooing to the teeth. Great thought about the black. And the scene where they all drew in the diner. I felt happy :) Little too loud music at times, but other than that it was lovely.- 197 replies

Yeah, it wasn't me man :P. I'm big on biographies and shit like that. Currently Im reading Blood in the Cage: Mixed Martial Arts, Pat Miletich, and the Furious Rise of the UFC, because I love stuff like this! Talking about Biographies, I have read Education of a Felon: A Memoir by Edward Bunker like six times. Its fucking amazing. My all time favorite books are (besides Education) perhaps Neil Gaiman - American Gods (It is just magical, in all sense of the word, magic.) Noah Levine - Dharma Punx (It helped me) Carl Sagan - The Demon Haunted World: Science as a candle in the dark (cleared the cobwebs) Richard Matheson - I am legend and Cormac McCarthy - The Road (both dense, close as skin) Hmmmm. Shit, cant remember more. Oh! Marilyn Manson - The Long hard road out of Hell. Hail Satan. I really havent read any real classic classics. They bore me. For example, Jack Kerouac On the Road. Well, Ithink Henry Rollins said it best. “Kerouac, what a pussy,” :D
