  1. That's a killer back piece he did on that woman. Really nice stuff on that website. Congrats - Can I ask - what are you getting done?
  2. @RoryQ Thank you! All credit to Tim Pausinger. And Yes, I am going to do my whole front. I've got another artist at The Pearl who is doing a large piece on my stomach. I'm looking forward to it, and terrified all at the same time. It is going to be a black and gray tattoo taken from a New Deal era relief on the Dept of Health in (I think,) Duluth. Unfortunately, I've moved in next to a donut shop and the image is going to look a little stretched. :(
  3. I looked into buying that Krampus sweater (and the bigfoot sweater for my wife) but they measure in centimeters. Being Canadian I am familiar with the metric system, but sizing has generally remained in inches. And a 60cm chest converts to just under 24 inches - thus its only seam to seam. Usually chest sizes are for the entire way around. Their XL is only a 48" chest, which is small. I'm reluctant to buy the sweaters because I'm totally unsure about the fit. It's a shame because I love those sweaters!
  4. I picked up a PS4 a few weeks ago and I am loving it. I'm currently working on ACIV, Ghosts, Battlefield 4, and FIFA '14. I suck at FIFA. I suck more at Battlefield 4. I suck a little less at CoD: Ghosts. I suck least at ACIV. All in all, the system is a bigger improvement than I thought it would be. Graphics are sharper and the new controllers fit my hands better. I understand that it will take a little while for the system to really shine. Overall, I like it better than the PS3. One slight drawback is that the new controllers are energy pigs and run down far too quickly. They have a gimicky headlight on them that I am pretty sure is death to battery life.
  5. I missed this one somehow - Love that reaper!!
  6. Popped into The Pearl this morning to catch a session with Tim Pausinger before he left for the Xmas holidays. He basically finished my chest piece. In January we'll link the shoulders and arms to it. He is also going to do some spider webbing between the tattoo and the bottom of my pecs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I just counted and was a little surprised to find I have tattoos from ten different artists. I've travelled for some, made appointments with guests at The Pearl, as well as made regular visits to my usual local favourites. Looking forward to my next session my chest. I may try to get a little in tomorrow.
  8. @Duffa Awesome. Just awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I have always used facebook to log into LST; however, I would like to be able to log in without using facebook. How do I go about doing that? Do I have to create a new account and loose my pics, blogs, friends, post count, etc? Thanks!
  10. The first story is from a parody show on CBC radio. The second story, about the Rob Ford tattoo - sigh - well, that's my city.
  11. Jesus H! That is foul! I'm all in for the 2014 convention, but I'll leave this part to those with younger stomachs. :)

    Book thread

He's written two that I know of. Gun Machine and another called Crooked Little Vein. Good stuff. Stick it on the pile and give it a shot in a few months.
  13. I missed this thread somehow. I'm late - welcome! Great introduction.
  14. I love the way my sleeves have taken shape, but I do wish I had a couple of extra arms to keep working on. This forum has a way of making me want more and more and more... I'm hoping Mario is going to travel to Toronto again. I've got a couple of spots saved for future tattoos by him.

I highly recommend Warren Ellis' "Gun Machine" It was a good, creepy, page turner. Gun Machine: Warren Ellis: 9780316187404: Amazon.com: Books I've been on a crime fiction tear over the last few years, plowing through police procedurals. Ian Rankin's John Rebus series is great and I've recently discovered Duane Swiercznski's "Hell and Gone."
  16. Ha! Yup looks like just about the same spot. I love that little folk bird. Is that by Mario? Great tattoos! I've got a few roses too. Redefining masculinity ftw!
  17. @Graeme I think he'd be suspicious of a rose tattoo. He was one of the first of my friends to get into tattooing back in the mid-80s. That said, we never agreed on what makes a good tattoo. We've drifted apart over the years. I ran into him this summer and all he could do was crap on my tattoos. He had just come from getting his baby's hand prints tattood on his chest. So, yeah. Chacun a son gout, I guess.
  18. I think you were there on their opening night. I was there for a little while that night, but I didn't know many people outside of Nick, Mario, and Chad. I don't know them well- I'm just a customer.. I recognize a lot of tattooers by their work, not so much what they look like. :) but I'll bet there were a few LST folks there I wish I'd said hello to.
  19. I have to agree. It's always interesting to me to see how people react to tattoos that challenge their preconceptions of gendered norms. I've got a hot air balloon on my leg that a friend of mine is certain no man should have. He has a collection of hyper realistic wolves howling at moons, etc. so his choices are not my bag either.
  20. I went to London. Twice. And I didn't get any tattoos. More fool me.
