  1. Congratulations! We had a blast. I'm sure you'll enjoy Mexico. Its an awesome place. You're in Belfast, eh? My best man came over from Bangor, not far from Belfast.
  2. Haha I did something very similar a while ago, except it was both elbows. Its a nice feeling knowing I'll not have to do them again. My knees though...coming up!

    Book thread

I've got to stop reading this thread for a little while. I've got a ridiculous stack of e-reads piling up on my kindle.
  4. Great tattoos. Looks like you've been at The Pearl. Welcome aboard!
  5. His work looks amazing. Looking forward to seeing the results.
  6. I can't believe how busy the days following the wedding were. Crazy! When we get some pics back I'll post the best here (in an appropriate thread). I'm only now getting back to any semblance of a normal life. The day after the wedding we also had a crazy flood here in Toronto (of which I got caught in the dead center while trying to get my sister to the airport - all is well, though). I've managed to get away for one night in an historic B&B in Kingston, Ontario. But, and this is why this post is still relevant in this thread, I am working on my honeymoon plans and we are going to Chicago! Even better, Chad Koeplinger will be at the new Great Lakes shop during my visit and I am working out getting a tattoo from him while we are there! Woohoo!!!!
  7. Thank you! And yes, I'l post some pics tomorrow :)- - - Updated - - - Thank you, Dan! Much appreciated!
  8. Ha! Thanks, Hogg. It really was awesome. We are heading to Chicago this summer for a honeymoon just in time to stop by and see the new Great Lakes shop and hopefully get a new tattoo there to celebrate.
  9. First, I want to thank Hogg for his response - measured and appropriate. Secondly, I want to agree with his point that this sort of thing happens so infrequently here is a testament to the quality of people on this forum. I do want to highlight how important it is that moderators be allowed to do their job. Self-appointed moderators are a threat to the free and open discussion of ideas and topics. David Flores makes the very important point that if people feel they must address a particular post and do not wish to bring it to the attention of the actual mods, they should be very careful how they frame their criticism. David's suggestion of how to handle this particular incident strikes me as a perfect model of how this could have been handled. As participants on these forums we are self-policing to a certain degree, but I think we should be careful about allowing self-appointed moderators too much latitude. I hope Dan comes back, but I can understand why he was so frustrated.
  10. I've done both elbows. A screaming gorilla on one and a large tiger head on the other. The point of the elbow wasn't much worse than anywhere else, but the little divots on the sides were something I wont soon forget. That said, its done and I'm glad I did it. A bit of short term pain for long term gain is an equation I can live with. Good luck!
  11. Best wishes to your wife for a quick and total recovery. F*$& cancer.
  12. This is exactly what I do these days. With excellent results, too.

    Book thread

Great book! Have you read "Parabel of the Sower?" Its my favourite by Butler. Well, I've finally started into Game of Thrones after thoroughly enjoying the tv show. So far I am quite enjoying it.
  14. The big day is July 7. I'm really looking forward to it!
  15. I think my ridiculous run of tattooing is at an end. After months and months of getting work done, I am getting very close to my wedding and my attention must surely turn towards this most important day. My love would like very much if I wasn't taped up, or wounded, or healing as we head into the home stretch. I am certain she is right. So, I had a couple of little filler tattoos done to largely finish up my right arm sleeve. Look for the dice and the flower above them. It has been a great experience, made all the better by being able to share my tattooing with the great folks here at LST. But, come August, work begins on my collar.
  16. Thanks for posting this! I've been a Bowie fan since about 1980. (I was 9). I'm really looking forward to this.
  17. I'd take 110 over the crappy, rainy, dreary 55 I've got up here. Still, too much of a good thing...
  18. I watched one of those reality shows. Once. That was plenty.
  19. This is my next project. I'm searching high and low for good collar ideas. I've got a couple of swallows and stars that are going to present a slight challenge, though. I think I might be able to work around them. I booked an appointment in August to get started on this next section. (Although I suspect I'll get a couple done on my legs in the meantime...)
