  1. ^^^The Casa Sanchez deal is great (plus their logo kicks ass), but they only offer the deal to new people every couple years. I was tempted when I lived in SF until I learned that I couldn't just go out and get the tattoo and the free burritos unless they re-opened submissions.
  2. Love the way that dragon fades into skin, then back out. Really nice use of negative space!
  3. No, but I've been enjoying Victor Farinelli's reviews of it on Tattoo Artist Magazine's blog! That show looks real bad.
  4. Maybe she's healing a tattoo of another nurse...
  5. ^^^Tiger's not the worst, but that thing on his wrist and the Indian head are just awful.
  6. I've got the simultaneous peeling tattoo/hair starting to grow back itches. Also it's been about 70 degrees and sunny all week and I've wanted nothing more than to wear shorts (the new tattoo's on my lower leg)! Luckily the clouds are back so I don't have to deal with all three of these things at once.
  7. @Delicious I was just kidding, sounds like you've got a pretty good plan there.
  8. Summer clothes = cut off pant legs and shirt sleeves, right? I don't see the problem...
  9. Some solid life advice coming through on the second page here!
  10. Any word on whether or not DeVita will be at this year's show?
  11. @CABS - Yeah man, definitely worth the trip. The shop is cool as hell, and I showed up early expecting a line but ended up being the only client there for the first hour+ of the sitting. Jeff is a solid dude, I highly recommend him. Jeff and a couple other guys from the shop (including Jason) will be at the Bay Area Convention this year, too... Here's a slightly better picture from Instagram:
  12. Got this earlier today from Jeff P. at Art Work Rebels here in Portland, Ore. Every 23rd they do a half-off flash special, so I picked this one off the wall. Sorry for the shitty cell phone picture, it's the best I could do.

  14. Also from just a brief search it looks like Classic Tattoo in Vegas is pretty good. I understand why he wouldn't want to travel too far for his first tattoo, mine came from a shop just around the corner from my old apartment. Although that shop wasn't great I lucked out with a really good artist.
  15. Seeing as this forum is a such a huge collection of excellent tattoos and also a PSA for getting good tattoos and avoiding scratchers, why don't you show him some of the threads on here? I've never been particularly swift about following through on my tattoos, but this forum (along with some other media) definitely helped me avoid doing some stupid shit as well as make me understand some of the not-great aspects of some of my work.
  16. Oh man, didn't realize this was the collaborative back piece! That's awesome, now I'm even more excited to see the future progress.
  17. @ironchef That looks incredible! Is there going to be any background between the dragon and phoenix, or leaving that open?
  18. Everything is expensive in Norway! I spent a week there over the summer - a cheeseburger ran at least $20, plus another $11 for a beer.
  19. Five days is not nearly long enough to consider a tattoo "healed," so it's hard to say exactly how it will look from here. However, after such a short amount of time you're probably seeing a lot of dry skin and scabbing covering the ink, changing the actual color. If you're still unhappy with the color after another few weeks, it may be time to call your artist.
  20. Oh man, any idea who did that Bert Grim Sundance back piece? Les Skuse maybe?
  21. @living4today that tiger is something else, and the placement next to pizza face is pretty awesome. There's gotta be a good tiger attach joke we can come up with to explain the swelling/limping while it heals...
