  1. Sorry for your loss, man. Ive been there. Its a solid tattoo. I understand that loss can make the tattoo process hasty for a memoriam but as others have said, just keep getting some more tattoos. You got this.
  2. Sounds like you have a good idea of what theme you want to go for. Since we don't necessarily know you, we might not have the best ideas to offer. My advice is to pick a style, find an artist, and spitball some ideas. Another good place to look is the image gallery, it can give you more ideas than we could possibly.
  3. Welcome Back! Very solid piece so far.
  4. What a tough month, all the submissions are so good! Great topic to start the TOTM off right!
  5. Awesome! Glad, it's back! I think its a fun contest that can help people strive to get better tattoos.
  6. Excerpt from the conclusion of the research: Damn, I thought I was crazy when I noticed my tattoos healing faster. No wonder why it seems that the stress of getting tattooed decreases the more you get.
  7. @Rob I I was just giving you shit in response to you're joke, but my humor can easily come off as snarky. I also think its pretty cool the way these tattoos were preserved for the generations(I couldnt do it either, though). I believe there is a museum of skin like this in japan. I think would be bitchin' to see one day. I love macabre museums. here is a link to more pictures of tattooed skin: http://www.cvltnation.com/dead-skin-living-art-the-museum-of-tattooed-skin/
  8. Thank you Captain Grammar! Without grammar nazis how would the peons of the internet know they made a simple grammatical error? I fixed it for you, and no you cannot look under the floorboards.
  9. I would recommend compiling a group of tattoo imagery you like, then go and visit various shops/ artists to check out their portfolio. Once you find an artist (or several) that does the style you are looking for, you can speak with them and see what they can create for you. Spit ball ideas with them, listen to the artist, and enjoy the journey.
  10. Here is tattooed skin from the 19th century, it belonged to a french soldier (hundreds of skins like this were preserved). The Top depicts images of a nautical star, a lady head, and 'D’amour' in script; which means 'my love.'

    Fitness!

As of late, with my busy schedule I have been doing only bodyweight (prison) exercises. I run a 5x5 regiment regularly, but with these exercises and no gym; I needed to modify it. I have been doing squats, dips, pushups, lunges, walking (about 6 mi) whenever at work, and some advanced stretching (yoga). I workout 3-4 times a week and for approx. 30min. So far its worked very well, and saves money for more tattoos!
  12. As @Dan said before, It would be best to discuss your idea with a good local artist about what you want and have them make a design that fits.
  13. Here is an example of what everyone was attempting to convey. With the font thin like that, it would take away from the tattoo as a whole. Get a tattoo that looks like a tattoo, I remember someone saying that once.
  14. This is the best advice one can give for sucky situations such as these. Not everyone will understand tattoos and the culture, but thats why we have an awesome community here.
  15. I finally had my rib piece finished after 3 years. It feels good to be able to start on new tattoos. Done by Luke Kehoe (except the ribbon, just touched up by him). I didn't want to cover the ribbon, so we added things around it.
  16. I 2nd, 3rd, and 4th this. It makes me not want to go through the hassle of uploading things I only want seen in a certain thread.
  17. Heres what I could find out about it. Hope it helps! https://www.aad.org/media/news-releases/dermatologist-warns-consumers-about-complications-linked-to-newer-tattoo-inks
  18. The posts above are all viable options to help with the itching. I personally use A&D ointment to heal my tattoos (this usually takes away most of the itchiness). if its still itchy i lightly pat the tattoo to relieve the irritation.
  19. Welcome to LST! Your best bet would be to talk and consult with your artist. This way you two can go over all possible ideas, placements, and additions. if you check out the Tattoo Gallery and Latest Tattoo Lowdown, you may be able to get some ideas started by the great tattoos that have been posted in those.
  20. A pet peeve for me is all the kids that are new to getting tattooed that are going straight for the most visible spots on the body, such as a warped tour body suit. After spending a lot of time reading the posts and threads on LST, it makes sense for me to cover my body in a traditional manner (e.g. Torso, thighs, upper arms, then moving to more visible areas). In the end it doesn't matter what the content is or where a person gets tattooed, doesn't affect me in the slightest.
  21. I was at a college party one night, hanging out with friends. Suddenly some dude walked up to me and said "you look stupid" and walked off. Later that night the same guy started telling me about how tattoos now a days are looked at the same as being black in the 1920's, After that, I told him to get lost and walked away. He then proceeded to tell me (almost yelling BTW) that "my parents didn't raise me like that, blah, blah, blah." at this point I was ready to leave. The last thing I said to the guy before leaving was that "my parents taught me to treat everyone with respect, I guess we were raised different." Plainskins Say The Darndest Things.....
  22. I personally wouldn't refer to myself or others as collectors, because I associate it with being snobbish. I feel that if you get GOOD tattoos, it is perfectly fine and acceptable to call yourself or others a collector in the correct context. It's when a person has an air of superiority and elitism about them that I dislike. Name droppers is what I loath the most though. Art is subjective, and I think that's beautiful. Just my 2 cents.
  23. Does anyone Play any of the Souls games? They are one of my favorite game series. They remind me of zelda, but for adults.
