  1. What they said^^^ Wrote (and then deleted) large rant about people with warped tour body suits, then remembered it's on the internet, so it doesn't really matter. I'm fine with other people doing stupid shit, as long as they are fine with consequences.
  2. I've had similar looking heals @BrianH , but not since I've been on the 'derm, and usually from the heavier handed artists. It looks pretty dry to me, but I would only be concerned if the redness spreads over the next few days. Has anyone used both saniderm and tegaderm? I've only used Tega and if Saniderm is recommending that a lotion/cream can be used prior I'm a bit sceptical. From my understanding and experience with it, a sterile environment is what you are trying to seal in, and the natural healing fluids (that would normally form scabbing?) produced by the wound prevent adhesion. IMO it's pretty hard to keep a cream/lotion sterile, at least to the level I believe the 'derm requires, I just use an antibacterial soap for the wash prior to application, then just lotion after the 'derm comes off.
  3. I agree with the general 'explore other artists' advice so far. That shop seems a little suss, advertising for an artist to feature in a reality show. Seems a bit backwards to me. I personally wouldn't get my back done at 19, time machine allowing, but given the arbitrary nature of 'age' compared to maturity, I can't say whether you should or not.
  4. Looks like the attention has resulted in some action at least. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/03/21/my-little-pony-backpack-banned-school-north-carolina/6685403/
  5. ^ school basically told him it was his fault (shoulda chosen a different bag) people were picking on him from my understanding. Pretty weak on their part.
  6. ?? swing away mods... And for the record @Victor, questioning the source of any information to assess it's credibility is a standard part of academic study. This is not Tattoo U but I'm happy for a standard to be maintained. Go internet.
  7. It's a forum dude, if you were having a private msg then it wouldn't have involved me, it was a long way of trying to explain why you can't conflate a scrape and a tattoo, while also explaining why some people rewrap.
  8. Probably would depend on who I'd paid to scrape it and how much I care about the appearance of the lifelong scrape. Not all tattoos are healed equally and I would likely end up with a much patchier heal if I let a tattoo scab up in the way a graze/scrape/road rash does. Not saying you have to rewrap, just that some people do and it works for them. Depending on where it is, what clothes you have to wear for work/climate, having a tattoo covered by a barrier layer of some kind can be as much a comfort thing as much as any sort of healing improver. If you read the often evangelical 'derm thread, the comfort of having a protective layer is a big bonus for some. (I find when people begin a statement with 'not trying to be...' they are aware that they are. Along the same lines that say 'with all due respect,' usually comes with none. Nothing personal, just how it reads to me.)
  9. Those videos are great @Lance, thanks. Got my catalog and Horitomo tenugui today, which I think scared our dog, he caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye and went straight into defense mode, barking at it till I took it down.
  10. He has a few non limited prints on Rebel Reprints at the moment, extremely reasonable.
  11. Yeah it worked fine when i took the time and did it right on my ribs, just got a bit hasty with it this time. I'll still go with it again, ebay seems to be the best place for those in the states? Most other places i've found online only seem to do bulk orders. Maybe it will become my "bring some of this" product when people visit from home :D
  12. So I've had a tegaderm fail, not so much the product but just poor application/procedure. Only waited 4 hours after finishing to clean and cover, then I didn't take care in the layout of the sheets and had to cut and patch some corners to get full coverage. Woke up the next day with a tattoo sized blister effectively (very full of liquid) and over the course of the day one of the joins between my poor patching was compromised and started leaking. I ended up taking it off after just over 24 hours and reverting back to bepanthen. Moral of the story, take the time after the tattoo is finished to let it get rid of most of the plasma/ink etc. then seal it in with the 'derm. And maybe get some help placing sheets in spots you can't easily use both hands on.
  13. That's exactly as it sounded in my head too, just thinking about the possibilities from a list of talent like that gets me pretty hyped.
  14. The ideas list is a little more divided, but generally is around animals, again in no order: -Bear (maybe two headed to be on trend ?, maybe fighting something else) -Octopus (To add to the list of artists, the ones I've seen Andre Malcolm do are insane.) -Giant, mostly black, Ryukoi. (Inspired by the Horiyoshi 3 carp in Tattootime.) -Dragon -Big ol Reaper! -Battle Royale (with cheese) -traditional nautical themed back, with some framing. Maybe just a bear/octopus/dragon battle royale is the best way to go...
  15. The dream list, in no particular order: Seth Wood, James Tex, Matthew Gordon, Rubendall (how could you not?), Theo Mindell, Horiyasu (would love a sword as well) Chris O'Donnell, Dean Sacred, Geordie Cole, Jeff Gogue... And on and on... (Having made this list it realized how flippant 10 was, it's probably more like 20!)
  16. Got this today, Mimi Wunsch at Sea Wolf, great shop and couldn't be happier with her take on a classic. (Really hard to get a good photo of something that wraps over multiple bones!)
  17. This. Reading Michael Pollan made me consider this more carefully. "Bread" for example, should not have 25 ingredients. If there is real concern, do a baseline urine/sweat/hair/fat (I think they would show results differently depending on the substance concerned) test for heavy metals and then you can see if it increases over time/tattoo coverage.
  18. Ha Ha, true. Its probably really more me projecting instead of making a tough decision! I have about 7 different ideas and at least 10 people I'd love to do it. When I can whittle that list down, at least on the idea side, I'll be ready. Real life problems over here! ? The fact I have a p. good reason at the moment to keep a stack of savings doesn't help.
  19. Looks great hung, I will also be copying that! Can't wait for it to arrive, catalogue sounds even better than I expected.
  20. Hard to view this thread without a little bit of back envy. @Wilhell @Cork @DevilMan in particular, can you guys explain to my fiancé why our house deposit should take a back seat to an amazing backpiece! Great work.
  21. This guy, only been a week since we adopted him but he's such a great tempered dog. It's been over 15 years since I last had a companion. He is also like a service dog for people that haven't experienced icy footpaths/sidewalk before (ie. me!) Anybody ever DNA test a mixed rescue to see what it is? I'm really curious based on him displaying a number of different behaviors I would normal associate with a particular breed. He points like a retriever but walks like a beagle, nose to the ground. It doesn't really matter to me but I am interested. At the moment I just say he's half lab, all awesome.
  22. Kinda off topic (is there a "so I had to soundclash my neighbours" thread?).... Today my downstairs neighbours decided to play window rattling dubstep from 11am. At 6pm, admittedly out of character , I got super passive aggressive lay the speakers face down on the floor and turned just one song up to eleven, just to convey the proximity of our lives and the inconsiderate nature of their music selection/volume/duration. This was my song of choice: (worked amazingly well)
  23. I like the idea of documenting the process, I have photos of most of the line drawings I have had coloured in. Collecting sketches/line drawings in general interests me, reminds me a bit of the Vogels. Not sure how you would allay fears of potential future profiteering though.

    Hello

    Welcome. Good first shop choice!
  25. Fuck I wish I had said that in the meeting. Couldn't have straight faced it though.
