  1. Would you recommend pearl harbor for this kind of ink? And would you recommend Tim? Tim or India look like my best bet if i choose to go there
  2. Well, thank you very much for all your help. Guess I have a few good shops in mind now, and I'll need to figure out which one will be best for me. i think pearl harbor Pearl Harbor Gift Shop | Artists is good, but they definitely look like thet specialize in japanese style tattoos. I think Home | Imperial Tattoo or rice eyes look like they do more traditional and realistic pieces, but I do not trust my judgement AT ALL. i'm in the process of reading blogs/and the threads on here about what a good tattoo is Oh, and about your comment about lee-way, I don't want you to think that I'm set in my design. I'm not an artist; if an artist has ideas to better my ideas of my designs, i'm completely open to it. My only attachment is to the big picture of the wolf and dragon, to symbolize strength and wisdom
  3. what do you think of that design for someone for a small arm? the problem with discussing that with an artist is that you will never hear "nah that'll suck" - they want to make money. actually, i think I have my arm online.. Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting there it is. Yeah, might be slightly bigger now, but not by much
  4. the design is nothing like i want. I was just trying to point out the dragon style, and the fact that it wraps around the skull by no means did i think it was an amazing tattoo. I'm not sure where to find a magnificent illustration, i'm not much of a graphic art reader, and as we all can tell, i have a terrible eye. no wolf/dragon tattoos exist either, so it's kind of hard to find 2 illustrations that can go together in a single tattoo. I thought that was what an artist was there for; to draw you your tattoo, so you didn't have to
  5. http://www.tattooset.com/images/tattoo/2012/09/10/9443-gothic-concept-of-a-dragon-grabbing-the-skull-with-its-deadly-claws_thumb.jpg that could be related to the tattoo i want, kind of. But I'd want the dragon going around a wolf, in a majestic design, and I don't really like the face of the dragon in that tattoo. maybe you're right; maybe I am rushing. That said though, maybe i'm expecting too much too. I'm a scrawny guy; trying to get that design on my arm might be unrealistic
  6. something like that yeah. if you googled "midevil dragons" images, you'd see kind of the style i'm looking for for the dragon. Thanks. I never thought of googling midevil stuff until i saw your post
  7. Point taken, but I can't draw a stick figure; my artistic judgement is abysmal. So, going to the shops, I'd still have trouble deciding who would be a better choice for my style. I don't know how to judge; i thought the first link was pretty good; clearly the united opinion is that he is terrible. I just don't want a shitty tattoo. A japanese dragon that comes to my mind is basically one you see at a chinese fair, with the long tubular body and the japanese-dragon face. the dragon I'd want is a 4 legged winged, teethed, dragon that you'd see in video games, eragon, how to train your dragon i guess, etc. (like, fantasy)
  8. I got a response from PHGS, saying tim is booking into feburary. I am not sure though; tim seems really japanese-style from his portfolio, I'm looking for more of a realistic-style tattoo. I want a fantasy dragon, and a realistic wolf, not a japanese-style dragon, etc. the email also said I'd need to bring a reference for the style of dragon and wolf I like.. I can explain it, but I have a hard time "finding" a reference.
  9. right now, I think my options are riceeyes, pearl harbor, and imperial tattoo. imperial seems to do a lot of realistic work.

  11. If i were to go to pearl harbour gift shop, which artist would you recommend? I'm planning on getting a dragon swooping behind a wolf, in some badass design. (wisdom and strength)
  12. yeah i was leaning towards rice eyes. I'm in the Greater toronto area
  13. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.131043527035963.23978.100003909494261&type=3 li friend goes to this guy ^ and recommends him, but i'm not sure.. I was also thinking about going to a guy named eugene (Tattoos – Rice Eyes) but, he said he's booking consults this month then never responded.. I just don't know how to identify a great artist, and for a detailed animal tattoo like mine, it'll be uncoverable, and it's permanent, so I want to make sure I have a good artist The first guy runs out of his home, I believe, so can raise a flag. But it does look decent; the rose for example. I've also had this shop recommended: http://www.deluxetattoo.ca/tattoos/
  14. I'm planning on getting a dragon soon. its going to be custom :)
  15. I don't think it should, but i think it does. Theres a stigma that comes with heavy tattooing that is hard to ignore, and has to be okay with the other person
  16. if you do end up getting one in the future let me know!
  17. names and marketing always matter and often relate to the credibility of the shop, so I agree.
  18. I'd talk to my doctor or wait until after the surgery to look into it
  19. this is why I'm having so much trouble choosing an artist.. i'm afraid it'll be bad
  20. I would, if i saw good work.. You don't need to be inked to be able to ink. Betoven couldn't hear, and he could play music. I could not eat steak but cook a mean steak. I could be able to drive but not own a car. Shall i go on?
