    Lochlan got a reaction from Fala in apology for my 'tattoo study' thread.
    Thank you for your apology though I must question, "limited time scale"....going into grad school you know you need a thesis so by a good advisors advising you should be encouraged to begin developing your thesis at the beginning. Of course it is going to take different shapes and forms while being modified as you go through your lit review and intro classes though people tend to stay close to their original thoughts and reason for seeking a higher education...ie you think your work contributes to a specific missing element, a unique pov, etc so you seek to add to the subject.
    I do not know the specifics to your program/department so don't know how long your program is but I do know your university and some of their work so believe you have longer than a "limited time scale" unless procrastination got the best of you? Or other variables which I am not privy to.....
    Once again welcome to the site and hope you find it useful if you decide to stick around and you can contribute as other LSTers have. You can always PM me or respond here or elsewhere. LSTer are truly a unique, devoted, and caring bunch in the world of tattoo forums and in person (at least those I have meet) and we are blessed to have them here!
    Online research is a new thing where very few researchers have seen desired results and those who have, have had to put large amounts of money into it. The ethics and ways of doing it are still developing, it's in its trial and error phase if you will. I have found your joining the site useful for me professionally (not LST) as I am currently out of the country for a few months working on furthering a research infrastructure we have used successfully with large research funds to become available at an affordable price for the everyday person including grad students. So thank you for teaching me and helping me further my desire to be a better researcher that I am grateful for.

    King Edward was tattooed by Hori Chiyo who tattooed many royal personages . His sons , the Duke of Clarence and the Duke of York , later King George V also sought out Hori Chiyo when the two brothers served as midshipmen aboard H.M.S Bacchante which visited Yokohama in 1882 .

    Franklin Pierce had full sleeves depicting Greek mythological figures fighting dragons. He had an affinity for both Greek mythology and Asian cultures, so he let his brother-in-law, Obadiah Appleton practice his new trade. Unfortunately for Pierce, Obadiah's tattoo work was as bad as his previous career as a failed wagon builder. Pierce therefore always wore sleeves and threatened the life of anyone making a portrait if they even suggested depicting the tattoos.
    Also, Dwight Eisenhower has an ace of spades on his right butt cheek.
    I don't know if any of this is true, but I found it quite amusing.

    I found this, but I can't find the book for sale or the author's name anywhere.....
    Referencing the popular book, "Hail to the Tat: An Illustrated History of Presidential Tattoos," 35 of the 43 presidents sported skin art. Amongst the First Citizen's tattoos, the most popular were on the arm, thus starting the tradition that no American President can be photographed wearing a tank top. The most famous tattoo involved a small eagle holding a broad sword (demonstrated in the first source) fighting Jack "Galveston Giant" Johnson. Additionally, several presidential tattoos stand out: Andrew Jackson sported a tomahawk that ran the length of the inside of his left leg; James K. Polk is historically known to be the first white man to have a Chinese character as a tattoo (the symbol for "eager");
    James Buchanon with a scantily-clad brunette on his chest as well as the acronym "BFL" in six inch lettering on his abdomen (BFL standing for "bachelor for life");
    and William McKinley with a cartoon representation of himself as the Monopoly man carrying a bulging sack with a $ symbol.

    I'll work my way in here and dance a little.....you got great advice for a tattoo forum or any other online outlet (maybe try Mayo Clinic like other worry-warts) from experienced LSTers (tattoo collectors and medical staff) yet you continue(d) to:
    1) ask the same question
    2) stay worried
    3) take over/distract other LSTers threads
    4) rack up a quick ten post (I was online when you joined yet didn't spam you as I and other mods wanted to give you a chance) so you can write your own thread
    .....yet all you had to do was just an intro (you don't need a minimum for that) about yourself and your concern with pics...listened to the advice and then given the advice that sat best with you a ride (for more than a few days or hours) to see what happens.
    I think had you taken at least one of the offerings an LSTer offered then members wouldn't be playing with you. So my question is who is the troll? LSTers have been very polite, me not included right now.

    Temple is by far the coolest shop I've ever been to.
    I got tattooed there by Freddy this past summer and I'm getting tattooed by Jason Mcafee this Saturday.
    Super pumped about it.
    Easily one of the coolest places I've ever been.

    Found this one of Tony D'Annessa on Getty Images. They say the photo is from 1955, but Tony started tattooing in 1958 so who knows exactly when the photo is from.

    And one of Tony from the 4th of July this past year, posted by Dave Cummings on his instagram:

    That also answers the question about what a tattoo will look like with a scar through it: hard as fucking nails.

    Dude, you got serious answers from the jump.
    No one can diagnose you over the 'net.
    You got advice to take it to a doc if yer worried about it. What else do you want people to say? Everyone heals differently, it's impossible to tell from a low-res snapshot what's going on with it.
    Nothing else to say. You got zits, or work that isn't healing, or whatever. There's your serious advice.
    GO SEE A DOCTOR OR WAIT TILL IT HEALS ON IT'S OWN

    Sorry if anybody experienced some unexpected downtime, I was in bed watching some crappy show on netflix.
    The upshot is that the site is running a little faster now!
    As always - please do report any funkiness or issues that you experience on LST anytime.

    Hogg is right. Five hours back there is no joke. I know that I have posted my back on here before, but I don't remember if I posted progress photos. Here is a link to my Flickr page. I took a photo after each session. The entire tattoo took about 22 to 25 hours. The first session was an hour and a half, and the second was about the same. That means that I put in over twenty hours the last three. It was rough, but now it is done so fuck it.
