    Every time I watch the movie Eastern Promises or see and flip through one of the various Russian Criminal Tattoo books (Volume I, Volume II, or the newer one Volume III) I am reminded of the beauty, significances, true tattoo stories, and rawness of these tattoos. There's a neighborhood in San Francisco were I used to spend some time in regularly drinking coffee and eating pastries when on some lucky occasions I would get to bear witness to one or some of these historically rich tattoos. On only a few occasions the individuals would see me checking out there tattoos and would notice mine so conversations would follow or they would see me looking at theirs notice mine and give me a nod. The few stories I've gotten to hear were amazing and I can only imagine they were censored for my ears. The combinations of religious and spiritual imagery mixed with deeper unique meanings I can never get enough of. So this thread is a place to share your Russian Tattoo Designs, pictures, and stories. I have attached some images I got off of the internet because I have never felt right asking those I've seen with these tattoos for pictures, go figure. Thanks!     Wow, this place sounds great and Dr. Pogue is a good looking gentleman with a well groomed goatee so he must know what he's doing! The second picture is a tattoo one of the students did while there that they use on the website as a reason to attend...my question is shouldn't this be a reason not to attend if they use a tattoo like this on their website? Thanks Hawk.

    Babsdad aka Jimmy aka Dad.....I love the right hook this kid throws! Hope he has taken that talent to a boxing and/or MMA sport. He wasn't even looking and connected perfect....I remember when Babs showed me this awhile ago and still think about it regularly so thanks for posting it.

    I have recently discovered and had the opportunity to experience the traditional chinese wedding of twelve course, mmmmm, on several occasions. And almost even better the wedding party has to move around and entertain while as guest you sit and stuff your face. Is this an American Chinese thing or Chinese culture as a whole?

    How could tattoos and traveling not be a fun and good idea? Alright before Dcostello or one of the other LST comedians step in I can see potential for it not being fun and a good idea (gotta watch myself with you comedians). Anywho, do it if you really want a tattoo from the tattooer. Also maybe try some of the towns suggested local foods and share it with us. This sounds like the perfect future LST post (Food, Travel, & Tattoos) or even better BLOG!!! Ask the tattooer how they find it best for them to communicate about size, references, etc with distance in mind and follow their lead. Shit some days it can take one n half hours from Oakland to SF or vise versa but don't let it stop you! Look forward to the tattoo stories and pictures..........

    Well said and thanks! This is one of the reasons why this site was developed. To help people find good tattooers and shops that consistantly do good work and treat customers respectfully as customers should treat tattooers respectfully. Revid, by the way I responded to your two post on two other forums so glad you joined us at Last Sparrow Tattoo!

    Almost anything is doable if you go to a good tattooer and don't have too many tattoo ideas and designs you are trying to stuff into one tattoo(but remember I am not a tattooer just a customer so tattooers please correct me if I am wrong). Lizzie is on the forum and located in Toronto at Speakeasy. Mario Desa and Nick Colella from Chicago Tattoo Company did or are going up that way to guest spot I think I heard (both are on here as well). What else everyone? I know there's some East Coasters and East Canadian's on here....... Here is the Nick Colella interview by Scott.
