  4. Anyone do any tattoo cover-up lately they wish to share with pictures? I have been looking at some around the internet and seen a few tattooers claim to love doing cover-ups.....
  5. I guess you have a new project ahead of you???? My homie Eric Ahlquist does cool photos but tattoos aren't his focus more Rumblers CC and other hot rod, custom, motorcycle, travel related stuff. I always enjoy when I go out to Brooklyn and stay with him looking at his work scattered throughout his house from his adventures. His perspective is very intriguing to me plus that he's a great guy helps!
  6. How were the fights tonight?
  7. Made homemade French Onion Soup last night with yellow onions, leeks, garlic, shallots and potatoes. Going to try and execute a pureed corn jalapeno soup this week..............
  8. I was watching the original Next Iron Chef series recently and Chris Cosentino and Aaron Sanchez were on it pre tattoo visual tattoos. Related but not really just a thought that came up as I watched it.
  9. I have been looking at lots of Lady Heads tattoos, flash, and pictures lately as it seems to be one of those tattoos so many tattooers try and execute but they seem to be having a hard time. Remember I am a collector not a tattooer so my observation is what it is, so would enjoy hearing some tattooers opinions on this. The one thing that I see over and over again that hurts my eyes and in my opinion breaks the tattoo is the lack of depth when it comes to the chin neck area. I don't know how to describe this but will attempt.....the necks are too big or too small in ratio to the face, the angles are not right, the shading seems off. Thoughts?
  10. I always enjoy tattoo lettering that has no color and is readable wether that be script or graffiti or what-have-yous. But these days I am also leaning towards tattoos that are only black and grey with maybe one color. Regardless of what I like I can appreciate a good tattoo for a good tattoo as a collector not as to wether or not I'd wear it. Script is timeless and at the top of my list...by far! I enjoy all the tattoo lettering that Huero put up in the Finer things in life thread by Tattooland. I keep finding myself revisiting this thread for the many pictures but the Tattooland I spend extra time on. I like how on some of them and I've seen this elsewhere where it'll be the same phrase or words written over and over again in the various styles. It is so visually appealing rather than just a letter or what not. As I mentioned in that thread I would and I am sure other LSTers would enjoy seeing a Tattooland specific thread like the 222 Tattoo one by someone who is more familiar than I. And even better how about a Chicago Tattoo Company one or other various shops like this where the history and stories run thick as well? Just some thoughts..........
  11. Hey Jill, it was emailed to me from a friend so no idea as they said they found it on a tumblr blog with no reference.
  12. That was me who added it so people can either follow the link to your website (which I recommend to all if my opinion counts as there is great stuff on your blog) OR they can just read it without clicking. When people add links to specific articles, etc we try and throw in the exact writing in quotes as URLs can sometimes change and we don't want people to miss out on the pieces! Hope you didn't mind?
  13. Personal High Point: Starting this tattoo forum and ezine with Scott along with some other personal goal pursuing. Personal Low Point: Old habits will fight til the death! Best Thread: This is tough as I truly enjoy reading, hearing, seeing all the post/blogs/tattoo pictures/etc as peoples thoughts fascinate me, must be the reason for my profession and why I have been avoiding this post since it got started. Anywho, here are some for where I am at today: Old Tattoo Photos Travel and Tattoo Shop Choosing Food and Drink List Finer Things in Life Was tattooing as popular 100 years ago? Best Album: 500 Days of Weezy Best Film: Always James Bond but I'll add Up in the Air Best Show/Concert You Attended or Didn't: Agnostic Front 25th Anniversary original lineup in Brooklyn this past February! I may write on this in a blog as we were out there for a little bit leading up to the show and the fact that no one had played together for twenty-five years and the practices had some wondering how the show would be executed.......it went off!! Biggest Guilty Pleasure: Nicotine....... Best Restaurant: Adhoc, this sandwich shop in Eagle Rock which I can't recall the name, Morimoto's, and on and on........ Best Tattoo of the Year: Jake's pick of the Thug Life belly rocker is up there but can't narrow it down...... Thanks for starting this thread!!

  15. Do tattooers not try to talk people out of dumb things?
  16. Last night we did a marathon of trying to watch season three and got to where they are leaving for Ireland. They just keep adding layers of possibilities to the plot like two or three per episode, damn! Sinking there claws in for endless series????????
