  1. It was pouring all day and so I was craving pho (a common association for me these days or dim sum with rain) and found this pho place online that only does delivery and pick-up so got it delivered. Put on the Rat Pack film from ninety-eight and opened the bag......hot damn! Double the normal portion, good priced, and six separate pieces of sour gummy candies(free score!)....and best of all now one of my favorite pho places! For those in the East Bay (Berkeley, Emeryville, Albany) they deliver, have vegetarian options for those that like that kind of thing, and they are Pho Me Now!!! Get some!
  2. After over half a year of looking for Banyuls at a store I found it in person at a cheese specialty shop in SF. I fell in love with it at Baker and Banker in the city and we have used it the past two days at my house. If you've got recipes or have cooked using this pls share with me.......
  3. Eagles to me are like Rock of Ages, classic/timeless tattoos! The mental association with the word "tattoo" within the top five images that will pop into my head are eagles. Something about them always catches my eye in tattooers portfolios and flash at tattoo shops. I'm often drawn to the older flash at shops and will look for long periods of time at each eagle. I love seeing old tattoo pictures as well with people who have large eagle chestpieces (I couldn't find any online so pls share if you have some). I have seen some amazing ones pop up on this tattoo forum as well and hope the users will post theirs here that they have collected, tattooed, and drawn. I have quickly gathered some eagle pictures from tattooers who I think do great eagles: Lindsey Carmichael, Nick Colella, Thomas Hooper, Chad Koeplinger, Stefan Johnsson, and Tim Lehi. Share your favorite eagle tattoos and tattooers who do the eagles you like.....have at it!
  4. Here's a good tattoo as it could fall on the offensive or worst tattoo side of the fence AS WELL AS the hillarious or best tattoo ever.....

    Greetings

    Welcome from the west coast!
  6. Yesterday, March 21, 2011, marked Last Sparrow Tattoo Forums six months of being live. First and foremost thanks to all those who have been a part of this! We embarked on this new project not knowing what to expect but said screw it and gave it a shot as there wasn't a tattoo site out there that captured all of what we wanted to see....until you all joined us. This tattoo forum and ezine could not be the positive community it is without every respectful and insightful contribution from blogs to pictures to forum threads/post to sign-ups to links and shoutouts on your various sites (Facebook, Twitter, Stumble, MySpace, personal blogs & websites, etc). We are so grateful and hope you all will continue to spread the word and participate so we can do our part to try and help the trade of tattooing grow in a more respectful and positive manner where tattooers and tattoo customers can learn and support those who consistently turn out good tattoos with a positive attitude and love for the trade. We have had some great friends take time out of their busy schedules to do the Tattooer Video Interview series with Scott and want to thank them again. Juan Puente for being the first one to jump in and sit down with Scott. Both Cody Miller for helping us and doing the interview with Josh Arment while he was out of town. Nick Colella for not only doing the interview but also regularly contributing some great tattoo history and pictures to the forums among other contributions. Freddy Corbin for sitting down to get interviewed and juggling hanging out with his son. Bryan Burk for being so patient as he was one of the first interviewed (six months ago) but we had some technical difficulties so didn't get this one edited and posted until recently. There will be more of these coming as Scott was just out of town to specifically do some interviews. I would like to thank my friends who have sat down and done The Three Questions for LST and yes there will be more. We have another LST Admin meeting coming up where we are going to discuss two BIG new features that we have been hashing out based on some LSTer feedback that we hope will help further propel better tattoos and tattooer/shop recognition for tattooers, shops, and customers. With this in mind we do listen and want to try to make the site more useful for all returning and new users which leads to the other reason for this thread besides the huge THANKS!! If you all can take the time to answer these questions we would be even more grateful: -What have been your favorite parts? -What do you want to see more of? Thanks again for joining us on this journey that we continue to try to map out but not knowing where it will take all of us but riding the ride anyways cause we love good tattoos!
  7. Found these religious tattoos during my weekly blog gaze of tattoo shops and tattooers. These tattoo pictures are of work by Jun Cha, Chad Koeplinger, and Ross Nagle. So sick, I can never get enough of religious tattoos!
  8. While doing my weekly look around various tattooers and tattoo shops blogs I found these skulls that caught my eye: -One from Tim Lehi, his skull caught my eye because it seems so different to me than the other skulls I normally see Lehi turn out. I have a tiny skull by Lehi on my hand done back at Tattoo City in like ten minutes. -Two from Chad Koeplinger, the two are the same indian skull backpiece but one is the stencil and the other the outline. As I mentioned elsewhere, it is so cool and keeps me coming back to blogs when tattooers do in progress pieces as watching the sessions build off of one another is so damn intriguing. Especially since many of these tattooers are not in my neck of the woods so I can't just stop by the shop and shoot the shit to watch the tattoos take shape.

    girl wings

    very nice, new ladyhead?
  10. I was looking around Sarah Schor's (New York Adorned) blog tonight and saw these ladyhead tattoos that grabbed my eyes so thought I'd share. I really like the one with the hijab as it is a first for me to see this kind of girl tattoo.
  11. Today on twitter Morgwn Pennypacker ( @FTWSKILLS ) from Love Hate Tattoo Shop in Miami posted this cool thirty year old Ed Hardy backpiece a customer walked in with that made me miss and think of the awesomeness in this thread.
  12. Getting a fair amount of users from Ontario. Thanks for joining, introducing yourself, and be active out the gates!
  13. Thanks for the heads up.

  14. So damn cool. I love watching GOOD large tattoos progress. Thanks for sharing and pls keep sharing pictures!
  15. Enjoyed the new Higgs videos....is there a reason you'd want just links? For people viewing this it is much easier to watch videos directly on a thread rather than click a link, new window, blahblahblah. Thanks again for sharing these.
  16. How about that welcome page he has, ahha. I'm amazed at the attention to detail in these pieces (Xed), Hooper, Jondix, etc.. Just looking at them I get lost and can only imagine how "tweaker" like it must be to tattoo these tattoos.
  17. Welcome Rory and thanks. We look forward to more positive contributions from you. Let us know when you get some tattoo pictures uploaded to your gallery or post them in the relevant threads. Did you see the Back Piece thread for tattoo ideas?
  18. Good call on all of them but the stuff Chuey Quintanar has been tattooing is insane. Been seeing his stuff show up recently on a fair amount of friends in LA. Strongly suggest this guy to anyone down that way!
  19. so sick! This is the tattoo from the video correct?
  20. Saw these variations of killer roses by Thomas Hooper on his blog....
  21. I have not heard from Hbomb but do know many are trying to locate him and the word is getting out that way so hopefully he pops up alive......

  22. The annual tattoo and kustom culture festival, Ink-N-Iron, in Long Beach, CA will be held June 10 to 12, 2011. Below is a bunch of info on the event. Who's going and who is tattooing? If you are tattooing how is it best for people to make appointments with you? The band list so far is: Paladins The Sonic Buzzcocks Detroit Cobras Pole Cats Anti Flag Skatalites Fishbone For those wanting the history of this awesome event here it is: The car show part is hosted by Cavaliers Car Club and from what I've heard it is pretty impressive from hotrods to customs as the cars are picked to be a part of it. When Roger Miret (Rumblers CC, Agnostic Front, Roger Miret & The Disasters) was in town and we were at dinner he was saying his new custom may be debuted at this show. His new project that he is/has been working on is pretty sick. The last pictures he showed me were pre paint but his ideas on the paint job sound pretty impressive. Plus there well be tons of other great old cars! Alright if you want more info here it is: Ink N Iron Tattoo Convention 2011
  23. Glad you are doing alright CaptCanada as well as Hiro and a few other of our (LST) friends out there but unfortunate to all the loses to Japan. If you want to vent have at it cause we are all ears as Patrick mentioned.
  24. Has anyone seen this new MMA event Cage vs. Cons debuting in LA on Saturday May 21, 2011? I was just forwarded it and pretty entertained as it seems like a movie become reality but could be cool on many levels from the fights to the non-profit aspect. Danny Trejo and Tinny Lister will host the event as well.
