Welcome wrazz, you should find lots of helpful info and people on here plus exposure to some amazing tattooers and shops. when you're ready to get tattooed if you want let us know and sure people will direct you to some good shops. I see you're in the Chicago yeah? are you familiar with Chicago Tattoo Company? Checkout the Nick Colella interview he did with Scott for LST if you haven't.

is anyone still using yelp for tattoo shops? or is it still a bad service for tattooers and shops?

@Ursula covered it well. Part of going to a good tattooer and shop is giving the tattooer "your" idea and having them tweak it to what will work. It is part of what you pay for. I'll paraphrase one of the best things I've heard said, "don't try to stuff ten pounds of something into what will only hold a few pounds". With that being said no one except a tattooer can draw a tattoo that will work except the one drawing and tattooing it. No internet site/app will ever replace or help a customer like a good tattooer and shop! When we were thinking about starting this site we looked around a bunch at what was out there and nothing accurately captured what a real tattoo experience is by a good tattooer and/or shop which is one of the many reasons we started this site. All the other "tattoo sites" were just leading people in the desert providing mirages which then made customers think the wrong things. Many of the best tattooers are within arms reach to get tattooed by in a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable price but you gotta want it.

@Barbie Doll just took me to Kaji sushi in the mission for the first time last week and it was pretty damn good. other than that, I like the sushi boats in japan town @ isobune and if you feel like making a trek (not that far at all) over the golden gate bridge to sausalito try sushi ran. have a good trip

LST Monthly Contest The tattoo picture that gets posted in this thread for April 2012 with the most 'likes' for that month wins! The contest starts on the first of the month and ends on the last day of the month. Welcome to LST and much of the feedback I was gonna give has been given. Curiosity, how much of the rest of your body is covered in tattoos? Is lack of coverage another possible reason they are deciding not to do it?

been watching Adam Warmerdam for some time and when I swung by Dark Horse Tattoo in LA a few weeks back Bryan had him show me some of the tattoos he did the day before.....UNREAL!!! I will be getting tattooed by him next time I am down there...anyone have any by him already?
