This totally cracked me up. I totally know what a hipster taco tastes like... :D

I wear scrubs at work - because I deal with people and their faces and sometimes "stuff" comes out... That's pretty much what I did tell him! LOL! I told him I wanted to buy a whole bunch more skirts just so I could show them off!

I don't care for it myself but I know people that love the stuff.

I'm on the road for work so really it wasn't even a question for me about whether I'd be seeing different people or not... but I think that even if my job was all in one place I would still probably be interested in seeing different people. I'm the kind of person that craves variety though - which is probably why I chose to work on the road instead of staying home. (One big old thought circle I just made!)

I debated whether to put this under "feminism and tattoos" or "tattoos and the workplace" but finally settled here. So... at work this morning I was showing off my new panther to the PTs and OTs when a (male) nurse walked in. He's pretty cool, one of my favorite nurses that works there. At first he was totally complimentary "Look at you! That's ART!! That's AMAZING" and then he says "but you can't wear skirts anymore..." and I must have looked at him like he was completely crazy because he stammered a bit and came out with "you can, but they'd have to be long right? you can't wear anything that would show those right?" I can only imagine that my face was still saying "you are a complete and total idiot". The other therapists all had their eyebrows up to their hairlines behind his back... Every time I saw him the rest of the day he was back to being super complimentary again... I have no idea where he got the idea that I would need to keep my legs hidden from view for the rest of my life. (Oh! All 3 of the brothers that I can only tell apart by their sleeves were super stoked for me! I had to show each of them "one more time" all day long... none of them asked anything about future clothing choices - but one of them did ask "what are you planning to get next?")

@VCarter that's great!! Congratulations on making it through! (as an aside... having worked with both kids and geriatrics - it's always the family that makes things hard. With kids it's the parents, with old folks it's their kids) @Androosh way to follow your dream! It would be hard to walk away from everything you've worked towards to go in a totally different way. So BRAVE of you!

As soon as I can figure out how to get a picture of my bad tattoos I'll post 'em up. I still love them... wouldn't want them covered... they've been with me for over 20 years now. I wouldn't feel like myself without them. (But I HATE trying to explain what they are!) Eventually, after pants, if I work my way up that high I plan to get good tattoos all around them and then no one will bother to look that closely anymore.

I'm not sure I understand what "vegan" means when it comes to a tattoo shop?

I'm thinking about my knees lately... Am pondering whether I want to go matching or not matching and if not matching same artist or different artist... I'm more afraid of the knees than any other piece of the squidpants so I'm kind of wanting to get it over with!! Since I'm only 3 months at a time in any one place, if I were going to go with one artist to do both, I'd need to be planning ahead for that... but if I decided that they could be done by different people it wouldn't matter as much. I think that I kind of lean towards matching - not identical necessarily but keeping to a certain style/theme - so probably same artist. I'm totally too chicken to do them both at once!! What do you guys think?

Needed posts before starting threads
else replied to slayer9019's topic in Forum Suggestions and Feedback
Hey! I just noticed that I'm a "regular" here now... ex-lurker no more!! What if people had to have at least 10 posts and... at least 3(?) or 5(?) "liked posts" before they could start a thread... certainly no one would "like" one of the obviously spammy posts that people have been rushing through to get to 10. It might force people to be more thoughtful... -
Hey! @Pugilist I love your "sick ink"!! XXOO

I liked it also. The biggest thing that I noticed was that despite the fact that it runs nearly 3 hours I never once looked at my watch to see how much time before it was over. I thought Christoph Waltz was brilliant.
