Hello -- this is probably the wrong place for this, but anyway here goes.
I'm wondering if you know of anyone who tattoos in Edinburgh and does the traditional style, I've already got my first tattoo and now i'm looking to get a Panther tattooed across the front of my thigh, anyone know a good tattoo artist in Edinburgh?
Regards,
Grant.

let start discussing it,
although i'm new to tattooing i know some of the artists going.
Lab monkey from stirling are going and so are some members of Frith street in soho.
Anyone got any comments?
To be honest if i had the cash booking a slot with Valerie for a lady head would save me having to travel to london at a later date.

I've been kinda forgot about but usually it's due to running behind schedule. Shit happens like any other job. As far as drawings being done, I noticed that sometimes it's 100% draw up in advance but usually not really that far in advance if at all. Mind you I have way more experience with just one artist and a few one-offs with others so mileage may vary but it also varies even with the same artist. You gotta look at it from their perspective.
Sometimes it makes sense to draw it up on your/with you (especially if you didn't have a solid consultation session). Hell sometimes better ideas come after a second look! Depending on where it is/size/what other tattoos you got you also got to take that into consideration. Any time I got tattoos next to other tattoos it always ended up being drawn right on my with markers so it would fit right.
Unless you sat around for hours without being attended to I wouldn't worry too much. I've had some appointments bumped due to stuff going late, but at the same time I've had my own sessions bump other people. Clients can show up late or whatever and screw up things. Unless it becomes habitual or excessive I really wouldn't mind it.
Just curious how long did you wait?
I didn't, i was merely seeing how you all react to it :)

What are your views on Customer service?
Forexample, if a an artist left you sitting around for ages, or perhaps was unprepaired for your booking, I.E you arrive and they basically forgot you're coming.
Also would you be more tempted to wait it out if it was an amazing tattoo artist?

I am glad i helped create this magic! :D

Okay, the idea is simple, share the memories of the first thread you seen at Last Sparrow, in my case it was the awesome collection of knuckle tattoo photos, i still revisit that thread :)

Stewart and Ms. Vargas both post here every now and then. There is a great video series that documents some notable tattooers that you may be interested in. Just Google "VICE Tattoo Age". There will be several different tattooers that have a few short videos on them. The ones on Valerie(god I hope I spelled that right) are really good. They profile her, a bit of Stewart, and some of Frith St.
I will definitely be checking that out! Any new material i can use to broaden my knowledge of tattooing as a whole is good material to me. Thanks for the stuff dude.
Grant, if you get tattooed at lab monkey ask rich about me or Stewart and say hello to the guys from us!So you are the famous Valerie Vargas, Pleasure to meet you.
I think you just got put onto my, "Must get tattooed by" List :)

Keep Tattoo forums for Tattooing and Piercing forums for piercings.
Personally i love both,
But as a rule of thumb, i get pierced by a Body Piercer and tattooed by a tattoo artist.
I wouldn't mix the two together, they're individual.

I love Joe's work, definitely on my list of people to get work from.
Hopefully I'll get the joy of letting him do my next piece

Yeah it was my idea, I got the idea of esher cubes funnily enough from this forum, I knew i wanted something traditional, because i absolutely love traditional work. I just thought i should give it my own little twist to keep it original.
