beez reacted to Lance in 2015 Bay Area Convention of the Tattoo Arts
@beez, thanks,'bout time this conversation gets started. It'd be great to get a meet up going. I'll definitely be up again this year. Initial plan, as usual, is to be there every day and I'm hoping to get a session in to start on my torso the day before or day it starts. Hopefully it won't knock me out. Aaand maybe I'll try again to get a walk up w/ Miyazo -

Hellloooo everybody!!
It's that time of year again...where we all start oohing and aahing over the lineup for the Bay Area convention and some of us start talkin' travel.
@sophistre and I met up yesterday and decided that it would probably be fun as hell to go, so the PNW will be representing for sure.
Who else is in? Any plans?
I'm just hoping to get the conversation going!!

Yes!!! I'll be there, naturally. Can't wait to see you babes :o I probably won't be getting any tattoos though cause for obvious reasons I can't afford it haha. Although that's kind of a bullshit reason cause it's impossible to leave that show with any money in your pocket.

I met a @beez today. We ate tacos after my hair appt., and noises were made about a possible pilgrimage to the Bay Area convention...

@BrooklynDude spend some time looking at other styles of tattoos. When I first found LST I thought I would be relegated to some blackwork which I think can be awesome but got great advice and ended up lasering my back. Early on I thought all black and grey (which i still find very cool)but quickly saw that bold traditional or Japanese was great for longevity and really started appreciating it. Fast forward 4 1/2 yrs and I have all traditional style tattoos and I love em. I see tattoos everyday most just re affirm that I made good decisions thanks to the help here. -

I DEFINITELY notice this. Especially if I'm riding my bike in a tank top or something. It BURNS! I freak out!!

We will figure something out! Either when I leave the city or you decide to come this way! I'm on cap hill. Would be nice to get out of the city! Prob not this weekend tho..Sea-fair, Blue Angels...ahh Seattle.

Related, has anyone noticed the skin where they are tattooed feels warmer than non-tattooed skin under the sun? I felt that my tattooed skin was really burning under direct sun but thought perhaps it was my imagination being used to SF weather. The last 2 years, LA really is much hotter than I remember it being previously when I didn't have much coverage. When everyone is wearing scarves and a coat, I'm still wearing a tee cause I'm freaking boiling. Then a friend who was visiting from Seattle mentioned the same thing about her tattoos heating up. Anyone else experience this?

Oh Gray Seattle. A tattoo collector's paradise. I feel Seattle (sans maybe 2 months of summer) and SF have awesome weather for tattoos. LA definitely not.

...and I proceed to quote you on it, sorry! But only because I know that the eyes are the most important part. Ideally, you want sunlight going into your eyes from an angle slightly above you. (Like the sun, natch.) We thought I had S.A.D. for a while, and I tend to be D-deficient if I'm not careful, so I had to learn these things. This is what I get for living and working in front of a computer, indoors, with no pants on, for years.
I'm having to wear a lot more sunscreen than usual this year, @beez. Where is this constant rain I was promised when I moved to Seattle? All of the grass on the island is dying!

I freak out about too much sun, and for the past 9 years I have been really happy with the usually gray Seattle weather.
THIS SUMMER, BROUGHT TO YOU BY GLOBAL WARMING: MY TAN.
I have a tan. This is a once in a lifetime event. (Actually 3rd in a lifetime). I am kind of freaking out over it though? All I'm thinking is SUN DAMAGE and I'VE RUINED MY TATTOOS. And it's actually causing me anxiety.
Reading through this I can see that clearly I just need to relax and enjoy the fact that I've upped my Vit D and my outdoors time, but I do feel the anxiety in the pit of my stomach. Gaaaah.
Thanks for listening, that is all folks.

hahain oklahoma seems like about 30% of the 40 and under crowd have a tattoo. Its usually a small ankle tattoo or behind neck or upper arms on guys. I have noticed especially at the gym a person with one tattoo will not even get a second look, but guy with full sleeve or squidpants gets lots of glances and a girl with a big tattoo gets starred at.

I feel a little bolder with my thigh eagle showing. The key to confidence is to get more badass animal or mythological creature tattoos on my legs, apparently. For whatever reason I don't really pay attention to whether my arm tattoos are visible.

Wow, @beez, I had not thought about that! I live in one of the most tattooed cities in the US, and sometimes I forget that.... it is easy to wander around with them showing and not worry about it.

After 7 years of hustling, freelancing, not having my shit together, and then getting my shit together - I GOT A FUCKING JOB YO!!! AND A REALLY COOL GOOD ONE!! AND I'M A GOOD GUY/ WHITE HAT!!
Because it's for a large corporation I don't think I should say much more here in a public forum, but guys: I work remotely, full time, full benefits, and a 401fuckingk. I have not had these in my adult life!!! I AM STOKED!!!!
You know what this means, right? More money for more tattoos. :D
