  1. I cannot 'like' this enough! Thank you so much for posting it!
  2. I like Mike Giant's version of anything, these days ;)
  3. @spookysproul I specifically take an oil (I like coconut, olive, jojoba, or avocado) and hit the to-be-tattooed area while my skin is still moist from the shower. After that, I take a heavier cream (I have been using a calendula/orange one from the salve co - you can find it in the bulk section @ rainbow natural remedies on cap hill - it's actually a lotion and the only one I would recommend instead of an actual cream) and go over the same area again. The cream helps seal in the moisture from the shower and the oil, and provides another layer of moisture. In fact, my fav progression is: shower, jojoba, coconut, and then lotion/cream. Jojoba has some added benefits due to its similarity to sebum produced naturally by the skin. Again, this is all tattoo PREP, not aftercare!
  4. @spookysproul I don't have another city to compare it to, really, since most of my healing has taken place in Seattle, regardless of the city that I have been tattooed in, but I will say that I am in the habit of pre-conditioning the area to be tattooed for at least two weeks (or as long as you have!) pre-tattoo, and the condition of my skin while healing improved substantially once I started doing that. It might help! Give it a try :). Welcome to Seattle, btw!
  5. Eddie Martinez, SuperGenius Tattoo, Seattle WA Did this in one sitting yesterday! Oops, image had not attached. Here ya go:
  6. Actually, I really appreciate you answering the question!! Thanks much!!! I feel less ignorant now :) thank you!
  7. I have two karajishi (or is karajishi plural?) on me. At first I named them Boris and Natasha, but pretty soon I realized I was mentally referring to them as Bill and Junii, hah! (Tattooed at Diamond Club by Junii, which is why that makes any kind of sense at all;))
  8. On the subject of women and aging and tattoos and all of that: My tattoos make me so much hotter. There, I said it. Not ONLY that - I never felt comfortable in my own skin growing up. There was always something wrong every time I looked in the mirror. Part of that was adolescence, part body image weirdness handed down via television and magazines, and part jerky people around me. Anyway - I feel more comfortable in my adorned skin. This, in turn, helps me project confidence, which is helpful in so many different aspects of life. I will feel like a bad ass (70/80/90) year old when I am covered in tattoos! Also, I look better and better as I get older, soooo...I'm stoked. Tattoos on older women are hoooottt and awesome and badass. :D
  9. Thank you so much!!! I had not thought about that!! OMG THANK YOU!!! Edit: I literally grabbed an ice cube from my drink and set it on my back and got some instant relief, hence the enthusiasm. Seriously - THANK YOU.
  10. A little over a week ago I had some work done on an ever growing back piece, and I am stoked, but I am writing right now to distract myself from the fact that sometime in my sleep I acquired a very large, very itchy mosquito bite RIGHT in the center of my healing tattoo, and...it itches...*so*...much. I do not know if this is the right thread in which to post this, but I figured you folks might be able to empathize with me...omg...it itches...it is overwhelming!!! Ahhh!!
  11. Gosh, that's upsetting. Such a pretty girl. To each their own!
  12. actually...that sounds about right...the owl thing sort of crept up on me, too... I am upvoting Octopuses & Eagles over Owls & Jellyfish - which is not to say the latter do not have their place, I just like the Os & Es as tattoos more. So far. Til slowly the others creep into my conscious and take over. Et cetera ad nauseam.
  13. I have been seeing jellyfish tattoos everywhere lately, online in random galleries and all over people in the streets. Part of this is that summer is finally reaching Seattle, and the layers are coming off! I think I became aware of them around November of this last year. Does anyone know where this is coming from? Pop culture? I see a LOT! Always with very long tentacles/tendrils. (if that's the word?) I have been seeing them on upper arms and also on the back.

    Sea-Tac

Bleh, there is nothing really close, but if you feel like venturing you could take the light rail into downtown in a little under an hour. This would prob stress me out too much, even with a 7 hour layover, but it's very easy to do. Seattle Light Rail Sea-tac to Westlake takes you right into the center of downtown.
  15. Oh man, that's the worst! I might want to give up if my hard drive had been wiped of all my hard work, as well. Glad you got inspired again!
  16. I'm not using btc because of anonymity reasons, though certainly there are those who are, and I have accepted payment for legit services (anyone want a handknitted/crocheted something or other? ;)) in btc. @real meta more and more places are accepting btc, but yes, would feel more legit if you had more options as to where you could use it. I feel positive about the future of bitcoin right now, but at the moment cash is still the reigning monarch. ;)
  17. @slayer9019 you make some very good points! Thanks for letting me know about folding@home! 18. @slayer9019 what stopped your mining? did you find the power needs cost prohibitive? I'm also looking into litecoin. (not being mathy myself, working with a miner). @David Flores more and more places are accepting BTC as payment, which one day will be as easy as cash (and with the exception of how long it takes the blockchain to synchronize is already pretty painless). resources: What is Bitcoin Mining? 19. @slayer9019 I think they peaked at around $226! Right now it's about $100 USD to 1 BTC. @David Flores part of the reason I'm bringing it up is because I learn best via discussion, and although I am slowly wrapping my head around it, I am still working towards an understanding about bitcoin! I am not math-y, this may have something to do with it :). Looks like android devices have the most secure offerings re bitcoin wallets etc.
