  1. @Pleadco didn't I read that you're attending, too? *You* have fun at the convention!! :)
  2. You want Dick's? I'm willing to negotiate. ;) I wonder how the TSA would feel about that cooler? Likely fine so long as I left a few with security ;).
  3. Re healing: I dry heal unless it feels really tight, at which point I will pop a little aquaphor on it. Haven't had to do that for the last few tattoos though, my body is taking care of stuff nicely! (Prob helps that I prep the area to be tattooed for weeks previous to the tattoo). I usually get tattooed, leave the wrap on for up to 6 hours, shower without direct water pressure on the tattoo, clean it in the shower, leave it alone. (I like the H2Ocean foam cleanser a lot). I'll take a couple of showers a day for the first few days to keep it clean, but that's just because it's easiest for me and I like to be warm ;-p. Pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel and leave it be. @HaydenRose I get very bad migraines, and have for the past 18 years, though they have certainly gotten better over the years! The pre-migraine migraines usually only respond to excedrin or tylenol 3, but I have recently discovered this lavender/peppermint roll on stick that works really, really, really well, much to my surprise and amazement and stokedness! I picked this up as an incidental item to another purchase, thinking I would just like to have it to smell or whatever. Weeks later, didn't have any excedrin on me but this was in my bag - at that point I would have tried anything - rolled it on at the base of my skull and waited. It really works, it's amazing. Also - tiger balm on the back of my neck/skull has worked before, but this is better. As a fellow headache sufferer who also tries to avoid NSAIDs etc, this was a really good find and I'm passing it along to everyone I know. It is amazingly effective. Here's a link: Lavender Peppermint Headache Stick Anyway, check it out. It looks super hippy whatever, but I wouldn't aggressively promote it if it didn't work very very well.
  4. WOW!!! That is actually an awesome dick pic! If you had asked me before if I thought a penis tattoo would be artful or aesthetically pleasing, I would most certainly have said "F@!K no!". I was wrong. Tips hat to mr @Stewart Robson. Verra nice!
  5. Capilli Tupou is new to me; I really like his work. It's instantly recognizable! He is on my list.
  6. Haha, I had the same situation when I started! And I've been out quite a bit letting my tattoos heal. Such is life. (Such is AWESOME life, that it's mostly tattoo healing that sidelines me). Glad the class went very well!
  7. I started crossfit last feb - I love it!! And I also researched and visited a couple of places to vet the trainers and make sure they knew what they were doing before signing up. I'd heard a lot of horror stories and didn't want to put myself in a bad situation where I would be guaranteed injury or repeated bad programming. I had a 3 month break that due to a foot injury (fell down the stairs walking the dog early morning, doh!) and then some tattoo healing I needed to get out of the way :p. I just started again last week and it feels so good! In a barely walking sorta way ;). I'm also - and I think I it was a post from @hogg where I first learned this term - a "paleotard" :p. but not aggro about it! Clean eating feels good. (+1 for clean bulk!). Anyway. Hope you're having an awesome experience. My box (ahahahaha) offers other classes in addition to straight crossfit, which is a nice bonus and a good indicator that they haven't drank the straight crossfit kool aid. Which is a good thing! I visited a box in OK that was like one big injury-inducing warning system. (I did NOT work out there). If you feel like nerding out...you have a friend in me!
  8. You would be completely crazy NOT to take the walk up! ooor completely out of money because you're saving for/just got awesome tattoos....(my likely situation) I'm arriving early Friday morning, prob kicking it in a park and visiting friends during the day, and then was thinking of taking BART out there and checking out the convention Fri night because I will be getting tattooed like ALL of saturday, and won't have time to check everything out before I leave way too early on sunday morning. :) Ahh, the unplanned trip. I am so exciiited!!!
  9. How did your appointment go? I just lucked into a cancellation spot with Robert Ryan at the Bay Area Convention next month! Am giddy like a schoolgirl and had to run to LST to tell tattoo friends. :p Stooked!
  10. <jumps up and down giddy schoolgirl style> Robert Ryan had a cancellation, see you at the convention!! AAAAHHHH I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the forum! Do you have any pics?
  12. @Kahlan if you haven't been to PDX before, it will be a fun stop! Just looking at the list of artists I can see some familiar names from Seattle - folks from Apocalypse Tattoo, Artful Dodger, Steph from Madame Lazonga's and Aaron Bell from Slave to the Needle. Also the folks from AWR in pdx will be showing - i recently saw a Jason Kundell backpiece in progress, looks pretty rad! (being based in Seattle, it's just what my eyes were drawn to!)
  13. Have not read through the thread (in awhile), just quickly posting because I think I'm gonna head down to the convention this year. It will be my first - I assume that most artists are booked by now, though! Any tips? I know some people leave a day open for walk-ups. (really my next step is to start emailing, and of course to read this thread, soooo...I think I just wanted to say HEY!) (but would really also love any tips for n00bs ;p)
  14. THREE MONTH jury duty? Oy vey! But a good enforced rest for your feet :).
  15. Yesterday. (I got a lot done this week!) Panther head + rose (and a smattering of stars and dots): Again by Eddie Martinez, Supergenius Tattoo
  16. As soon as I find some good tattoo and not straight selfie pics, I will gladly oblige. ;) In the meantime: LSTers, show off! We all wanna see. :)
  17. Fair enough. I have had bosses from hell!! It's hard, sometimes, not to be offensive when describing those who torture you on a daily basis!
  18. Er..."bull dike bitch"...not so stoked about that characterization. It's a little offensive to me, but I may be more sensitive than others around here. Welcome to the forum and congrats on your book!
  19. Didn't notice it until you pointed it out...now it's ALL I CAN SEE!
