@Bunny Switchblade I'd love to see the Frank Lee piece. My coworker has a lot of work from him and Frank's been finishing off one of his arms in the past few months, and urging me to get some work from Frank since he's local to me ... From what the dude has told me and what I read in an old TAM blog, Frank has had quite an interesting life.

That would be Orlando. Lots of decent shops within a few hours ... I just don't know Orlando that well. I second Dave Bruehl in Tampa (2.5 hours west) or most of the guys at Inksmith & Rogers in Jacksonville. But that's even farther. So ... Orlando artist recommendations, folks?

So to confirm, if call the shop (name is mentioned in the video) and ask about the flash you saw on the video from Barcelona, 2003. Based on the photos saying Chad K., I don't think it's too much a stretch to think its early Chad Koeplinger ... Right? -
I graduated from University of Miami ... So I feel you. There will be no blue and orange in this rendition! Why not a pink flamingo?

What kind of shop do you go to most?
Lori Todd replied to Ducky15568's topic in General Tattoo Discussion
The artist is more important than the shop. I'll travel for a good artist, regardless of the shop. The local shops I end up in are all vastly different from one another. From tiny holes in the wall where people are right on top of one another to spacious shops that are very laid back and private. And repeat business regardless of the shop based on that artists work and their bedside manner ... If I get treated like crap, but got a good tattoo, I'm not coming back. And if I got treated well but had to state at another customers feet for 4 hours, if the product is good I will return. -
2013 Philadelphia Tattoo Convention
Lori Todd replied to chrisnoluck's topic in LST Get Togethers & Tattoo Conventions
Saw on Instagram that @LosingShape already had cancellations so it taking walkups in place of those ... Kinda masochistic, but I'd trade a cold, bitter trip to the NE to check out the Philly show for the perfect Florida weather we are having ... (The thing is that we've had a miserably warm winter!) -
February 2013 Tattoo of the Month Contest

Might as well. Greg Christian @ Handcrafted Miami More pix in the latest tattoo lowdown. It's hard to shoot photos of your arm yourself, haha. -
I don't think I posted this new one I picked up from Greg Christian at Chris Nuñez's new shop, Handcrafted Miami just after New Years: Super excited for South Florida to have this new shop, which is beautiful. They're bringing in a lot of big name guys, which we don't often get here. Chad Koeplinger visited a few weeks after I got the moth and I was kicking myself for not having the budget to get something. But, I did book in with Heath Nock for June. (Holy shit that is a long ways away!) Getting a gator head with a Florida banner.

Thanks. It's my third time, and second panel. And it's pretty large ... 18 inches wide by 26 tall. Could definitely use more patina but I'll touch it up later. First time cutting the zinc framing. Mitered the corners, too. Thanks! -

Finished this awesome stained glass window panel for my commode (lol). It's my second piece I've ever done. Not the best photos to show it off since the light outside isn't too bright but you get the idea: Inspired by an Indian rug Started stained glass after my mom passed away a four months back. It's been nice to have something creative to sink my teeth into. - Lori -

I was a huge Aquaphor fan but decided to try and dry heal this piece I got from Greg Christian Tuesday night. So we're on day 3 and my forearm is still a bit swollen and tender. The skin has that funny fuzzy texture just before it flakes off. I feel like I'm getting a lot of scabbing compared to when I used Aquaphor, though. But I didn't have ANY weeping (when I use Aquaphor, I get SO MUCH of that crap). -
Got this one yesterday from Alex Strangler, who was guesting here in South Florida @ Rockabilly Tattoos:

@missStark I teared up! You are awesome. My best friend/mother passed away less than two months ago, so I've been keeping myself busy. Enrolled in a stain glass class, so I'm sinking money into this new hobby. But I freaking love it. And gearing up for holiday craft time. Christmas is right around the corner! -
Right? It was pretty painful, as expected. He hung the needle so deep and blasted the f*** out of it. I'm only at 14 hours after the fact now, but it's relatively painful-free at this point and not swollen at all. Surprisingly. I'm totally rocking some DIY sock-gloves I've cut finger holes through so it can breath and remain clean. New fashion trend? Homeless-chic.

Harry Potter Deathly Hallows friend tattoos ... Kinda in shock I did it. Done by Javier Betancourt at Ochos Placas Tattoo in Miami, Fla.

In usual South Florida summer fashion, my entire front and back yard is filled with mosquitoes. It's particularly bad because tropical storm Issac dumped 12 inches on our lawn. Ugh. So my fresh calf tat is at least one bite on it, and another right next to it. As if the itching wasn't bad enough to begin with! -
That knee cap is amaamamamamzing , @eisen777! Really kicking myself for not getting something from Greg last year when he was in Miami. Congrats!

Hey all, I'm guilty of NOT posting an introduction thread. Started puling together my collection about a year ago, although my first tattoo was about 10 years ago. I blame Instagram for helping me finally pull the trigger after learning so much about the different styles of tattoos. At first I didn't really know what I liked and over thought every design, now I lean more towards the traditional style and want to collect pieces as I travel. I don't really have many photos of my work, but when I do, I'll add them to my gallery. For now, here's what I was able to get off Instagrams: Rose of No Man's Land by Steve Whittenburger @ Rock-a-billy Tattoos in Lauderhill, Fla. Fresh. Floral by Steve Whittenburger @ Rock-a-billy Tattoos in Lauderhill, Fla. The "T" was existing already, let him incorporate it anyway he wanted. gah that's all I can really find right now. Like I said, gallery soonish.
