  1. Wasn't Final Exit from there? I used to like them, haven't thought about them in years though.
  2. For what it's worth, when I see blacked-in arms, which I do somewhat often in these parts, they're usually on 20-something punk kids, so I just assume that they're covering old straight edge tattoos.
  3. Rob Noseworthy painting: For total nerd reasons, I love the Star Wars/samurai crossover stuff because of the Kurosawa influence on Star Wars.
  4. Sorry, I was trying to make a joke there.
  5. What other kinds of tattoos are there?
  6. Preferring Greg Irons to Iron Maiden...we can deal. :)
  7. Last time I was in NYC I saw a cop with a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man sleeve. This was in the Upper West Side. There seemed to be a lot of cops with visible tattoos.
  8. Just watched the traditional episode. Depressing as fuck. No respect for either the tattoos or the people getting tattooed.
  9. That's really great news. It's a shame that it's only going to be available digitally...totally understandable though...but it will be really great to have a serious tattoo magazine available. - - - Updated - - - Actually, just saw this on Jeff Gogue's instagram, this must be it: http://www.tattooculturemagazine.com
  10. There's no better place on the internet than here if you want to learn about great tattoos, welcome!
  11. It wouldn't take too much searching through here to find out who I'm getting tattooed by on Monday because I've already posted about both of them on this thread, but yeah, I don't know what's going on in my head these days, but it probably is that I'm going crazy.
  12. Wait for my post on the latest tattoo thread early next week because I am starting to get superstitious about posting about tattoos I don't yet have, but I do have two appointments at Saved on Monday.
  13. Budget cuts. Police departments in the UK had something like 20% of their budgets cut, so I am guessing that a stricter policy on tattoos could potentially force people out of the police? Though I can't believe that there are so many cops with hand, neck, and face tattoos that it would actually make that much of a difference.
  14. When I was looking for ideas for my Necronomicon tattoo the best one I came across was by Jesse Smith: Mine turned out better, but dude can still tattoo better than pretty much everyone else in the competition even if he seems to really only do one style. I haven't seen the latest episode though.
  15. Horitomo also does tattoos of cats with tattoos...I don't know when I'm going to make it out to SF but you can bet that I'll be leaving with one of those.
  16. Anyway, who cares about quality, let's go for stage dive quantity instead.
  17. Jesus wept, you weren't kidding about the music.
  18. At the 2011 Montreal Convention Josh Mason had a bunch of drawings of portraits of classic hockey players (I remember Maurice Richard, can't remember who else he had) but I don't know if he tattooed any of them. They were really cool drawings.
  19. This. I'm still pretty new to getting tattooed and I've already gone from thinking that everything about tattoos is the coolest thing in the world to thinking that tattoos are still the coolest thing in the world, it's just sort of unfortunate about the getting them and healing them part, and as I'm planning on starting some big work in the next year I expect that my opinions will change again, and that I will lament ever getting involved in this thing that involves me getting repeatedly stabbed with needles in my ass crack. That said, I really like what was said above about the experience of getting tattooed and getting to meet people who really excel at what they do and really getting something from that energy. I love the way that when I look at my tattoos that I can remember the experiences around them and getting them (for example, around a year ago I was in NYC on that freakishly really snowy day at the end of October and because the weather was so miserable and people were cancelling their tattoo appointments I managed to get a walk-in at Smith Street and got that classic wolf head with its tongue hanging out the side of its mouth from Eli Quinters and when I look at that tattoo I remember that day really sharply, though I probably would have otherwise forgotten about it) and I want to continue having those experiences as long as possible because they've been some of the best and most important experiences I've had in my life. Which isn't to say that getting a cohesive bodysuit wouldn't be this really amazing, transformative experience, because I'm sure that it absolutely is.
  20. I can't wrap my head around going from no tattoos to a full bodysuit in two years, and the sort of thought process involved in that, but that is fucking rad.
  21. What is Morbid Angel's live set like because if they're playing a lot of stuff off that last album, I wouldn't regret that at all. Okay, maybe a little bit.
  22. Tattoos, heavy metal, and beer, I think you'll get along just fine here. Nice looking tattoos, too. Welcome aboard.
  23. ...aaaaand @Pugilist is quite possibly going to a conference next year in Oklahoma. Guess I need to figure out what I want from Richard Stell.
  24. Greg Christian.
