  1. Savannah, GA: Anonymous Tattoo Denver, CO: Dedication Tattoo - Denver, CO - I will vouch for Marie Sena being an awesome tattooer and an awesome person, the other tattooers there seem great too Las Cruces, NM: "We don't do piercings." - Tick who tattoos there very occasionally posts here, and she was doing some awesome stuff at the Montreal convention last year so check her out.
  2. The IG account seems to be a new one though with historical things whereas his other IG account is more for his tattoos. Anyway, because he seems to look at this place from time to time, thanks Nick for making this stuff available.
  3. I'm glad somebody got it because I posted that and then thought that maybe I'm the only person here who when they hear Gothenburg they think immediately of At The Gates. I figured the video is at least more welcoming than saying JAWS LOCKED AROUND YOUR SPINE!
  4. I'm sure that a lot of you are already clued into this, but Nick Colella is putting up a bunch of really great old stuff on Instagram under the name "greatlakestattoo" so check that out if you aren't already. Instagram
  5. No experience, but this is different than regular sunscreen how exactly? I do like that it is "portable" though because I've always had trouble lugging around tubes or bottles of sunscreen.
  6. Sorry. Not sorry. Welcome to LST!
  7. It's not size, it's technique.
  8. I love those Hooper Haeckel-inspired mandalas. I can't wait for mine to be shaded.
  9. You ever been tattooed on no sleep? I don't plan on doing it again because it SUCKS.
  10. I wanted something meaningful and so I had a really hard time choosing between a Necronomicon and skeleton warriors. Went with the Necronomicon and it turned out super rad thanks to Seth Wood taking my crappy ideas and making them into a great tattoo.
  11. Easy Sacha at Mystery Tattoo Club, Paris. From what I understand this style of tattooing is difficult to do well so you're absolutely right to wait to find the right artist to do it. The three you mentioned in your post are the first three that came to mind for me.
  12. Talk to your artist and/or a doctor because there honestly isn't much we can do here.
  13. Traditional wolf head done by Eli Quinters at Smith Street Tattoo, October 2011.
  14. The difference between swallows and sparrows, take note:
  15. @beez I am assuming that was your tattoo Diamond Club posted on IG? Very nice! I really need to visit SF, hang out, eat good food, and be embarrassed by how much choice there is in amazing tattoos.
  16. This thread goes from gibberish to gibberish. Hyphy?
  17. @Erica You don't have to convince me about Ron's designs! The last time I got tattooed by him it was super hard to choose what I wanted because so many of his designs are SO COOL. I ended up with the forest skull because that one is a mind-blower but the same can be said about so many of his designs. The negative space ones he's doing are so goddamned amazing. Love that guy. I can't even imagine what sorts of things people bring in.
  18. I only have one ditch lined right now but I didn't think the spot was such a big deal. We'll see when we shade it but I thought inner bicep was far worse. Different people, different spots, etc. I'm not going to post mine either because it isn't finished and it's part of a sleeve so it doesn't stand alone. It's geometric rock formations that a raven is perched on. I really like the shark jaws one above.
  19. I have a friend who lives in Providence and has been thinking about getting tattooed, I'll let him know about this. He's doing a masters in graphic design at RISD so he probably wants some pretentious art school garbage, so hopefully he'll act on this and actually get a good tattoo. But I doubt it.
  20. Tattootime was a magazine that Ed Hardy published in five issues between the early 80s and the early 90s that has just been collected and published in a two-volume hardcover set to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the first issue coming out. That issue was largely about tribal tattooing and has articles by some really key people in the development of Western tribal tattooing like Ed Hardy, Cliff Raven, and Leo Zulueta, there are some really amazing Cynthia Witkin blackwork tattoos in there, and the whole thing is written with a lot of intelligence and insight and is I think essential for anyone seriously interested in tattoos.
  21. I don't think there's anything wrong with tribal, but make sure you go big. - - - Updated - - - Also I'd look at some of the people doing more geometric things like Thomas Hooper, Jondix, Tomas Tomas, Xed Le Head, etc. to see different ways that people have taken tribal to give you some inspiration. Also since you're willing to spend some money, get yourself the Tattootime book because it will give you a lot to consider and it's pretty much the greatest thing ever published about tattoos.
  22. I think they have a MITB skull in there too...I should get one some day.
  23. Yeah. They have so much crazy stuff there. I need to get tattooed there again because it's such a cool shop.
  24. I think the word originated with @CultExciter so all credit goes to him and yeah, it's a great word.
  25. We don't really concern ourselves with the opinions of plainskins here. Get however many tattoos you want to get.
