You know, during the first session when we lined the tiger and the snake we did a fair bit on my ass and I didn't find it that bad; it seemed much worse this time. Tattoos hurt, that's part of the deal.

Session three down. A lot of ass and thigh lining today. So brutal. Really loving how it's coming together though.

2014 Montreal Art Tattoo Convention

From that same photoset we also have @Shaun1105 wearing his LST shirt while in an armbar. All the pictures are here: http://www.nightlife.ca/2014/09/09/des-tatouages-par-milliers-la-12e-convention-internationale-de-tatouage-de-montreal -
True, and maybe I'm becoming a cranky old man well in advance of my years, but I think that when somebody is shown respect, a little bit of respect and politeness isn't too much to ask in return.

For people who are a bunch of sheep, you sure ask us a lot of questions, huh?

I have an ass/back of thighs lining session tomorrow. I'm going to try to keep this "magic" and "mystical bond" in mind while I'm getting tattooed to try to convince myself that I'm not the stupidest person in the world.

Didn't @else get a beautiful one from Levi Hatch at Think Ink?

This is true, and why instead of using Google, you can always go into the shop and talk with the tattooer in person to get a feel for him or her.

To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield. You can also put a dagger through the panther to really emphasize the not yielding part.

2014 London Tattoo Convention
Graeme replied to RoryQ's topic in LST Get Togethers & Tattoo Conventions
I saw on instagram that El Monga is only taking walk ups. I am going to be a little bit bummed if no LSTers get on that. -
@PackMan What does your wife like about the original design?
-
I still don't understand why I'd never thought of it myself or had it recommended to me before, because really it seems pretty obvious that if you have some kind of injury that's going to swell that icing it is going to help. Why should tattoos be any different?

I love this, Ross.

@Rob I that qualifies as "full" to me! There's so much power there, Chad's tattoos are so fucking strong. I need to get tattooed by Chad again because the couple of hours I spent with him wasn't nearly enough. He's such a fun guy to get tattooed by.

Welcome from Montreal! You have excellent taste.

Let's just quote Stewart Robson from the original thread and call it a day.

Me and @Pugilist had a running competition for a while about who had the most hours under the needle. I've since lost track of how many hours I've been tattooed for, but the answer is "a lot of hours". I have no idea how much money I've spent on tattoos, nor do I care to know because I'm sure if you gave me the sum of money I've spent on them...without even talking about cost of travel and hotels, time off work, etc...I'd be stunned and perplexed how I even came up with that kind of money. People wanting to know hours so they can roughly calculate how much you've spent is weird anyway, because it isn't about money, and anybody who cares about the cost of tattoos, especially heavy coverage, is never going to get tattooed like that because it's not like getting tattooed like this is something that comes from a rational decision-making place. You don't sit down with a personal or household budget and see that you can fit a bodysuit in there. It comes from a more primal place, it's closer to a need than a want. That's where the tattoo magic is.

Dogs, cats, metal. I think we can hang. Welcome!

This is going to be fun, but the question is way too easy! Shunga all the way, because it's at least going to be a beautiful tattoo! But if I had to get some shunga on my neck, I'd honestly probably go with Dan Sinnes over Horiyoshi III simply because I'm more into the way Dan Sinnes has taken shunga in this really weird, crazy, gross-out way that to me is more appealing than the more traditional shunga. Though there's still some really wild stuff there in the original reference. Anyway, here's a Dan Sinnes tattoo of a vagina Daruma riding on a penis turtle:

You're welcome! Put the icepack over the bandage before washing itfor around an hour and see how it works. I always find this stuff difficult to compare to my other experiences because you're dealing with different artists, session length, detail of tattoo, difference in general health and physical condition, etc., etc., etc., but my other ditch swelled up like crazy and while this one is somewhat bruised there hasn't been much swelling at all, it's great.

I got my ditch tattooed the other day and on the artist's suggestion I iced it for about an hour after I got home and it was GREAT. There was basically no swelling at all. Now that I've tried it I can't believe that I haven't done it before because it seems obvious, but yeah, I'm going to ice tricky spots from now on.

@exume You for sure should! He's really nice and he's doing really great tattoos. He has a lot of amazing tattoos on him as well, including one of the best panthers I've ever seen. Dave Lum did that one.

2014 Montreal Art Tattoo Convention
Graeme replied to Graeme's topic in LST Get Togethers & Tattoo Conventions
Yeah, going all three days is EXHAUSTING. It was really a lot of fun though, got a great tattoo, saw a lot of great tattoos, showed my butt to people I hold in very high esteem, hung out with friends, made new friends, and all around had a great time. It's weekends like these that make me feel really fortunate to have a part, however small, in this crazy tattoo thing. Here's a picture from our LST brunch meetup on Saturday: I've probably said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again, but y'all are a great bunch of people: smart, funny, interesting, fun to hang out with. I'm proud to call you friends.
