If we're being honest here, even when that tattoo heals up, without the water, the little crest or whatever it is wont hold up. It's too small. You can barely tell what it is now. I'd go bigger on your next tattoo. Good luck.

Ok then, but you either need to simply your design or plan on going big. You cant fit all that detail into a small space without it looking like a blob in a few years.

I've been looking ever since I got here to find the origin of that. I know what it means, (tattoos covering the whole of your legs) but I haven't been able to track down when it started, or the thread it originated on

I've watched this show a few times. I dislike it, though it is based in the same general area of my hometown.

One I've heard of alot but is blatantly false is that tattooers can't tattoo over the veins in your wrist, because apparently they will puncture them? Even though HELLA people get their wrists tattooed, it still floats around

Dude, we all believe you have a nice tattoo. I recognize your criticisms, but I'm telling you, the rope and the anchor suit the bird perfectly. The colors don't compete in my eyes, because the anchor is so gray, while the bird is the first thing that draws my eyes. I personally think the rope adds to the tattoo, it creates movement. You did good, don't second guess yourself

When you (speaking as a woman) love shaving your legs and keeping them lotioned.... because then your tattoos look great.

I looked them up... You couldn't pay me to get a tattoo there. Listen, you seem nice and earnest. Go get tattooed, learn to draw, then go seek out a proper apprenticeship. These guys will only teach you to be at their level, and if you're serious about tattooing, then you should go out and seek something different. They are highly irresponsible for allowing you to tattoo people when you reach your 3 month mark.

@HaydenRose, I think you're thinking of bactine? The guy who did the girl on my leg used it. It was like blissful relief. Still hurt, but not nearly as bad until a good time had passed and then it was time for bactine. It's also antiseptic, and it just feels refreshing, not numbing

So, the 18th marked my one year of membership here... I feel like I have changed quite a bit in that time. Definitely had my mind changed about alot of thing, educated on alot of things... I went from one tattoo to 4 (You are all terrible enablers), and generally just enjoy myself and the friends I have made on here. So thanks. You're awesome. I appreciate getting better tattoos.

I say don't use numbing cream. The only time I would consider using it are on sessions longer than 3 hours. Tattoos hurt. They're wounds. It's a part of the process. You're choosing to be wounded, you gotta suck it up. But if it goes on for like 3+ hours, I know it would be pretty much unbearable. And if you don't have the option of spacing out sessions so you don't have to get a tattoo for longer than 3 hours, then go for the cream.

Idk, I've always been allowed to bring one friend with me back there for every tattoo I've ever gotten. I dont come rolling deep, but I think one friend is totally acceptable. I've also been the one friend for others. Not saying it should be the general rule, considering that some shops are really small, and others have too many artists trying to work for someone to come join you. It was a nice allowance on their part It was nice though. I'd never roll through hella deep. Why do hella people need to come see you get a tattoo?

Very cool @Pleadco! I always think it's cool when people from here run into each other, or when I see instagram and I recognize the tattoos from people I talk to quite frequently on here.

Just had one of these last night. Had a dream my tattoo kept peeling, even though it's been healed for a while. And each time I peeled it, it became shittier and shittier and went from traditional to color realism that looked like it had been faded for 10 years.

I don't know if this is tmi, but I went on a semi-blind date last night. It went really well, and I had a blast, but since neither of us were looking for anything serious, we just kept it casual. We ended up making out, which is terrible I know on the first date, but after it was all said and done, he told me I was more beautiful than I realized. Which just about melted my heart, since some of you may know I've had serious problems with dudes in the past and my self image. So, even though I won't end up dating him, I finally feel like I can go out and start seriously dating, without worrying and doubting my looks and self image. I realized that I can be more than I think I am, and that I can be liked for just being myself. /end emotional speech

He wasn't telling stories, he was just tattooing a parrot on a guy, chatted a bit, mentioned some story that was a filming of starsky and hutch and bob shaw... I wasn't trying to intrude on his conversation. But, I was encouraged to get a tattoo from him, so he's next on my list. that parrot was dope af

I met him today, he was tattooing a sick ass parrot on another guy in the shop where my sister got her chest tattoo. I've seen his flash before on the internet, and I gather he must be at least somewhat known... Very cool guy and very talented.

So my sister is going in today to hopefully get her chest tattoo... depending on who's working. Lol I can't wait to see her expression of pain, she thought I was joking when I said the chest hurt.
