  1. I'm currently finishing up the final mixes to my new album that I've been working on for just over a year now. I'm super proud of how it's turning out and I can't wait to get it released!
  2. I personally think that the 3 worst spots on the arm by far are: elbow (both the elbow ditch and the actual elbow), followed by wrist, followed by inner bicep. None of these spots are unbearable, but I was definitely aware of the fact that I was getting tattoed when I got these spots done on both arms.
  3. This is the first I'm hearing of this festival actually, but it looks awesome! If I'm in town that weekend I'll be trying to make it out at least one of the nights for sure.
  4. Yeah. I don't have it myself, but I spoke to Mike Rubendall again today at the convention because he wanted to take some more pictures of the tattoo and he told me that the photo was blowing up on Instagram. It's pretty cool to know that he put something on me that he's really proud of. He's such a genuine, humble dude.
  5. Thanks so much! He's also the nicest dude on the planet. It was just an overall incredible experience.
  6. I just got this tattooed at the Montreal convention by Mike Rubendall. We did 4.5 hours last night, and then finished it in an hour this morning. I'm so pleased with it.
  7. Oh nice! Thanks, man. I didn't realize he posted it on instagram. I'm really happy with it. I'm also having a super hard time focusing at work right now knowing that I'm getting a Mike Rubendall piece in less than 10 hours from now.
  8. No no no no no! Don't do this!
  9. I just got my right arm sleeve lined on Tuesday by Hugues Lauzier at Imago in Montreal (super badass Tibetan skull/snake/peonies), and I'm getting a Fu Dog from Mike Rubendall tomorrow. I kinda couldn't be more excited...
  10. Oh man. What a bummer. Thanks for the info/insight though everyone.
  11. Did you also notice that Chad Koeplinger is no longer listed as attending the convention on the website, @eisen777? I was curious why I hadn't heard back from him at all yet, and just saw that his name's been taken down. Do you have any more info about this?
  12. I went through a pretty big Black Metal kick recently, but as of right now, Earth, OM, and Sunn O))) are all that I've been listening to. I've been droning out hard.
  13. A few months back I had Cody Miller at Blackheart do a big black & grey geometric piece right smack in the middle of my sternum. It was horrendous. One thing's for sure, I'm glad I only have 1 sternum and never have to go through that process ever again... Also, I agree that the upper ankle is a deceivingly horrible spot. When Eli Quinters did the left side of my stomach/rib, we were both shocked at how painless it was. It was the most comfortable tattoo sitting I've ever had and it was one of the spots I was most worried about getting done. I think a huge factor is how you mentally prepare for each spot. I expected the stomach/ribs to be so bad that when I actually got it done I was hyper-prepared for an awful experience. As a result, when it went down I was really well-equipped to deal with it and made it hurt way less. Just a theory.
  14. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the raised lines come from the tattooer being too heavy-handed. What causes the tattoo to be raised is the fact that it's sitting on top a bunch of scar tissue from the amount of pressure applied and the depth of the needle. It's not dangerous or anything like that, it's just what happens sometimes. Some of my tattoos are like this, and some if them aren't. It's just the way she goes...
  15. Reminds me of when Mr. Bean restored "Whistler's Mother"...
  16. My dream rig would honestly just be a 2nd Princeton and a 2nd Vibro-King 2x12 to be able to run everything stereo and get heady as shit. :)
  17. I got my first tattoo a week before my 20th birthday. I used to say that if I ever regret it I could always just know that it was the last dumb thing I did as a teenager. :) It's not a bad tattoo at all and I don't regret getting it in the slightest, however, I do regret the placement because it's taking up prime real estate and could never really be integrated into anything big on my right arm. Thankfully, it's not big, so I'm going to get it covered up when I get my right arm done starting in September.
  18. Oh man. I'm jealous of all of those appointments...
  19. I have a lot of stuff planned for the first week of September... I'm starting my right arm sleeve with Hugues Lauzier at Studio Imago in Montreal, which will be a Japanese-style Tibetan skull and snake on September 4th, I'm getting a fu dog on my leg from Mike Rubendall on September 7th, and I'm just waiting to hear back from Chad Koeplinger about when my appointment will be with him on either September 8th or 9th at the Montreal Tattoo Convention. I told him I was 100% willing to let him have fun and choose whatever he wants to tattoo on me. Needless to say, it's going to be a busy week but I'm crazy excited about it.
  20. Ummm... Check this out. Jay Read » TATTOOING MY ARSEHOLE
  21. Totally. I'm such a huge fan of that whole aesthetic, and Eli Quinters portrays it so convincingly.
  22. Thanks, @Reyeslv! It also helps that Eli Quinters is a super nice dude and that Smith Street is an awesome shop. I can guarantee it won't be the last tattoo I get put on by him.
  23. Here it is. It's only a week old, so it's still pretty fresh and has some settling down to do, but you get the idea.
