Oh I dunno who it was directed at. Yeah, I saw them right before they broke up the first time (in like 01' or 02 maybe?) and then a few months back...Noone was being an asshole at the last show, but I got drunk and kept fantasizing about sucker-punching all the hipsters in the back of their heads and stealing their wallets and cowboy boots...I'm pretty lame.

I kinda hate taking appointments. It makes me feel like I have homework and like I'm procrastinating up until the point that I draw it, sometimes even after. I'd much rather do walk ins all day.

That rocks. I wanted to tattoo that chicks head on somebody as soon as I saw it in that book. That's a weird spot to tattoo, right there on the side of the knee.

Yeah, I've seen 'em before like that on some acetates and thought that maybe somebody got lazy when they were cutting them or something. But there's no need to frame tattoos with anything different. Leaves and flowers look good. -

It looks awesome! My only critique is I guess a style choice, I would have broken up the leaves in the wreath on the bottom into two leaves, right where they split in the middle, bring the line all the way into the black. But that's just a style thing...The tattoo is applied very nicely! -
I did this walk-in last night, he wanted a pinup with "some herbage" incorporated into it. I put skin tone in the pinup coming off the black, but it didn't show up in the picture too well. I'm still trying to get my pinup shading on-point, I feel like it's always lacking, but I guess less is more sometimes??

Thats awesome about Rob! Rocco's introduced me to him a few times, and we all even went to Oki Dog's together, but I get nervous around the older fellas and I didn't talk all that much, just listened...So he probably doesn't know who I am..Ha.

Suggestion for tattooers of LST

So should we just start posting in the Tattoo Design section, or is there going to be a private tattooer only forum? Because I have a bunch of new stuff that I want to get critiqued or whatever! -
Yeah thanks for posting the progression there and all the information! I am definitely going to do the same soon, as outside critiquing always helps me in leaps and bounds.

My favorite stuff to listen to when I'm tattooing is the more melodic pop punk stuff like Screeching Weasel, the Vindictives, the Queers, Jawbreaker, that sort of stuff. But my Ipod seems to have a mind of its own when it's put on shuffle, and will always play the most offensive Too Short or or Kool Kieth song whenever a bunch of soccer moms come in with their 14 year old kids to get piercings or whatever. I have managed to get most of the obnoxiously unfunny rap skits deleted off there though...The only stuff I will occasionally get up and skip the song is for Immortal Technique, who has a few songs that are a bit gnarly for anybody to have to listen too..

Yeah, it's definitely good people watching! I love working in a street shop in a not so nice neighborhood, it makes work way more exciting. How many of YOU guys have gotten to pepper spray a female crackhead who totally tried to punch your female helper and totally missed?
