Oldest was probably 1986 or 87. Then one a year after that until the '90s

Looks like a Chinese character possibly

Second skin works fantastic for me. My Artist says 2 - 3 days never more. I've had one leave a bit of glue behind but it eventually came off. +1 for second skin.

Hi all, Started on my other arm with a music theme. This is session two with one more to go. Apparently I was bleeding pretty good the first session so we called it a day before any damage was done. Second session went much better and he wasn't battling my body to hold ink. Anyone else ever experience this bleeding? This is the first I have ever had this happen.

I don’t see any pictures but maybe it’s just me

Stopped in at the shop yesterday to make an appointment for touch up and plan out some more work. Tim looks at my healed tat and says let’s liven that up right now. He pushed some white into just the right spots. Have a peek.

Thanks guys. @SStuyou nailed it. Right out of the ‘80s.

Sorry @SStuill try to fix!

Thanks @Blue Tattoo i just sent a couple pics to the artist and wants me to return next week and make another appointment. He wants to push more white into a few areas like the cross on the sword and a few other points to make things pop. He is a great guy been tattooing with an accredited shop for over 20 years. im going to add more script down my wrist and a cross up top between the wings with some rays of light coming through. im excited about the journey of adding to it a piece at a time. Hello all, So my old 30 year old tats are looking ragged compared to my latest piece. What does everyone else do or think? Im partial to leave them as they are a part of my history and the artist who did them is no longer able to tattoo. What do you guys do with aging ink? I would like to see some pics of aging ink too if you have any. I am talking 20 years old or more. I think they get a “patina” on them 😉 thanks for reading this far. Al

Update; It’s 4 weeks in and it’s looking great. The healing process was fantastic. Barely any scabbing to speak of and a nice smooth peel 😉 Thanks again for this forum. It’s great to look around and learn.

question about price quotes from tattoo artists
AlH replied to Asthma Inhaler Jim's topic in Tattoo Advice
Any price quote for me was always "between this and this". Definitely hard for the artist to tell the exact price in every case. I would go in expecting the highest price and being happy if it's lower. 🙂 -
Did the problem go away?
-
Thanks @oboogie its looking better as it heals. I believe its going to be just what I wanted 🙂

Thanks sir. it’s healing very well so his work with my skin was very clean and precise. No scabs to speak of just peeling and itchy. the tone of my skin doesn’t help as my forearms are very dark. I will post up fully healed in a couple weeks. Thanks so much for your input. You never really know how an idea on paper will look on skin…

Artist made a small mistake in my last tattoo
AlH replied to Asthma Inhaler Jim's topic in Tattoo Advice
I think there is always going to be artistic freedom. I have a tat or two that was not EXACTLY how I pictured it. But, the artist doing tats for 20 years on skin, knows what looks good, what works and what doesn't. There has to be trust in the process. I would leave it and enjoy it. If you go back to them, enjoy that too. -
It was 30 years between my tattoo sessions. I have been inspired by life events. If inspiration is needed, I always look back over the years for a point of struggle or victory. Bringing real meaning to anything I put on my body makes it a real investment.
-
Yes I can definitely empathize. It's the "forever" of the thing I suppose. But, my tattoos have deep meaning, I put them there for a reason. For good or bad, they will forever remind me of a scripture, a time in my life or a person. Short term anxiety for long term memories.

Hello everyone, new to the forum and here’s my latest after a 30 year wait! any thoughts on my new ink are appreciated. I am super critical of anything I get done on myself so I guess I’m just looking for information and validation. it’s healing great. A little dark but I think it will brighten up at the end. thank you for any replies and reading this far 🙂
