My brother had a stomach piece done at the London Convention by En from Genko. He has asked me to ask on the forums on his behalf. He is looking for excellent artists you could recommend that would be able to add to this piece on either side as he thinks it looks odd at the moment and needs other stuff added to it. I suggested a Japanese dragon going up from it one side and joining his Japanese sleeve but he doesn't want to go up that far. He also said it doesn't have to be Japanese style but I wonder what other styles are possible to add to it and for it to not look out of place? So if there is any suggestions of excellent artists around London or further afield if they are someone special, that could add to this piece. Also any suggestions for other styles that would go with this, if any? Personally I think it looks fine :) Cheers!

Im sorry I didnt realise that the lowdown was for new tattoo pics from the description of that paticular forum. I know and I promise I will never make the same mistake as all the babies in Africa might die :P The who, what, where, when, and why of your latest tattoo It doesnt really make sense to my clinically dead brain :)

Well I ended up getting to see Alex today aswell. Did 8 hours and even after deciding to do it in B/G we ran out of time and got thrown out by security lol Have to go to Italy to finish it. Just the flower and the bottom part, the Apple in red and the nails in the apple :)

Managed to get a piece from Robert today. He's a really chilled out guy :-) Will be meeting him again to add to it as we ran out of time. Was around 5 1/2 hours. Sorry for the shit PIC :-)

This is what was written about the book when I bought it, It might help some more. In all of my years of collecting and working with tattoo art sources, I have never seen another one. It is 15" x 10.5", 200+ pages, 2 1/2" thick. It comprises prints of the work of many of the world's most reknowned Japanese tattoo artists, such as Horiyoshi III, Horitaka, Hori-Goro, Hori-Mono, Hori-Hide, Hori-Cho and many many more. After the introductory pages and a layer of rice paper are sets of black heavy, heavy construction-type paper. On the right is a silver-printed index of the tattoo work with the title (such as Dragon) and the artist's name is Kanji and English. On the left side, a handmade print is hand-cut-out and affixed with adhesive to the black construction paper backing. This entire book is handmade! On some pieces, a double-wide page of black baking paper is used which folds out to 17x15 onto which multiple images of the same tattoo are affixed. At the end, there is a 30-page black on white history written in Kanji. I believe this gives background information. The condition of the book is overall excellent. Inside the book, the spine needs a little repair but it is not necessary. After all, this is a 40-year-old book. It came from a bookshop owned by someone related to the very famous tattoo master Cliff Raven who was a contemporary of Don Ed Hardy. There is light wear on the jacket and a few dusty areas that can be cleaned off. This is a reference work of the artists that define that style, grace and history of Japanese Tattooing. I'm sure that very very few were made and it must have been incredibly expensive since it's handmade.

Wow thanks for so many suggestions! So many talented artists about. This is plenty for this trip for me to have a look at. Thanks for the blog, have saved it for future. Also the convention information is just what I was looking for but could never find :) Just had my first knockback from the artist I chose first for the trip, shame but still plenty more to contact :)

I am off to Victor Portugal in December to continue my back piece and as usual will be driving. I thought on the way back I will head over to some other countries. I have chosen a route, picture below :) I am looking for top notch artists along this route or as close to. I thought if there is any along the way I will stop and get a piece :) Any recommendations? I know Boris is on the way and I think Buena Vista in Germany somewhere but is there any others really worth to see? Cheers!

Does anyone have a link where I can buy this from the UK?

I just recently got my first tattoos at age 40. Although I have friends who have loads of the old school stuff and I still like them, I am glad I waited and got something I will never regret :)

Ok just got Neutrogena Ultra Sheer SPF 100+. It is the best I have tried so far, hardly any white maybe just slightly but I will continue to use this until I find something totally white free which might not exist :)

Hi Folks, I am looking for sun protection that doesn't make my tattoo which is quite dark, white! Can anyone recommend one that I can apply daily and doesn't whiten my tattoo? I have tried loads now from super expensive to cheap and they all seem to do this.......... Thanks
