Got this chola lady head from Paul Dobleman at Spider Murphy's in San Rafael, CA.

He really is a great story teller. He told stories about the tattoos he has. He also showed me a ton of flash that he owns but doesn't have enough space on the walls to put them up. Everyone needs to get tattooed by Tomas. Awesome guy.

Got this from Tomas Garcia at Sid's in Santa Ana, CA. He has a special book of line drawings that he'd love to do. I had trouble deciding between two designs in particular, so he took both designs and made it into one. It was definitely a great experience over at Sid's. The entire crew is extremely hospitable. Very down to earth crew. I'm a fan for life. Tomas even drew up some hand made lettering for me too.

Justin Warn at Torch Tattoo in Anaheim, CA on Saturday. Tomas Garcia at Sid's in Santa Ana, CA on Sunday. Can't wait! I still don't know what I'm getting. I'll decide on the spot.

Got this from Jason Mcafee at Temple Tattoo in Oakland, CA. Super stoked on it. Real cool dude too. Temple is my home base.

Marcus Kuhn's New Project
CABS replied to Avery Taylor's topic in Tattoo TV Shows, Documentaries and Media
The cool thing about Gypsy Gentleman and Tattoo Age is that they both have very minimum overlap as far as their guests are concerned (Valerie Vargas and Dan Santoro being the exceptions). I've been exposed to lots of great artists because of both shows, but Gypsy Gentleman especially. This was my first time discovering Laura Satana. Dig her work. That Tin Tin interview was so good. Seems like such a character. I dig that.- 197 replies

Thanks man. I need to get added to that list! I just called and they say they're open Wed-Sat 1130-700. So I can't put a deposit down today. I just had this idea in my head that Grime's booked out for years. So I always ruled him out as a possibility. You've inspired me. Thanks again.

I gotta call the S&S and try to get added on this list. All I want is a 1 point. Does he even do 1 points? Shit, I'll just call the shop. So jealous of you man. I'm stoked for you.

I asked him if he's sick of doing lady heads and he said, "No not at all." So I'm getting a lady head. I wish!

Just made my appointment with Paul Dobleman. Super hyped on this.

Booked my flight to SoCal to visit some friends, but I want to squeeze in a tattoo session. Calling shops tomorrow at noon to try to get something lined up. My only requirement is that they can tattoo on a Sunday. Jonesy and Tom at Port City in Long Beach don't work Sundays. But I really do like Jack Mauk's work, and he does work that day. Jonty and Tomas work on Sundays too over at Sid's in Santa Ana. If Uzi is working on Sunday at Dark Horse, then that's a wrap. He's my first choice.

To my understanding, the handshake is about brotherhood, loyalty, honesty, camaraderie, friendship, etc. I could be wrong. The hand with the letter is a Dear John design. It's signifies a big break up. Usually people get that tattooed after they've been dumped. Or so I'm told. I wouldn't want that tattooed on me though. I don't need a reminder on my skin that I just got dumped.

I'm a Bay Area transplant. Someone just put me onto "Cupcake No Filling" the other day. Game changing stuff.

San diego tattoo artists/tattoo shops
CABS replied to majorpenalty's topic in General Tattoo Discussion
I'm actually planning a San Diego trip myself. I got a few shops in mind: Flying Panther (Rob Benavides, Micah Caudle), Seven Seas (Sergio Hernandez, Caz, Dan Pryor), Lifetime (Rob Hostetter, Thor), Master Tattoo (Philip Hatchet Yau). There are tons of great tattooers in SD. I'm only trying to get one tattoo. Perhaps even two. I need to cut my list down in half. Shoot, I know I don't need to travel for tattoos since I live in The Bay, but traveling is fun. And I need to get my carne asada fries fix. -

Finally I get to contribute to this thread! It's been way too long. Cobra by Stuart Cripwell off Zeis flash. First time at Spider Murphy's. What an amazing shop. I'd love to go back and get more stuff done. So many good artists there. Or shoot, maybe even get a second piece from Stu. Super rad dude.

Originally had scheduled an appointment with Stuart Cripwell in December, but had to reschedule because I had to save money for Christmas gifts. Finally going to have that appointment tomorrow. Can't wait. What bums me out is I'm in total save money mode all day today.

Did you get to pick your artist or is it random luck of the draw? That's so awesome you got tattooed by Coleman. So many good tattooers that weekend. I wanted to check it out, but the financials were looking pretty bad. -
I like collecting from multiple artists, but I also have gotten to know a few tattooers as well. For those that I got to know, I plan on getting more than one piece from them. But with that being said, I love what Stuart Cripwell is doing, giving that one client a full on body suit. I think it looks amazing.

Agreed, the amount of talent in The Bay Area astounds me. I wouldn't mind getting all my tattoos from Temple. But I also like to travel. Not necessarily for tattoos, per se. But if I can squeeze in a fun souvenir from my trip, I most definitely will.

Love this album. This is what got me into Primo production right here.

I saw this on Eddy's IG! Nice man! Four straight days? You're a beast. Major props on that. I'm saving up money to get some work done by Eddy as we speak. I'm not doing a good job saving though.
