Yep, still ribs. Glad I only have two sets of ribs!

I'm not SUPER fat. I'm 6 foot and 230 pounds. I have a respectable gut, but I'm not really fat all over. (Antidepressants are a bitch/life saver).
I would love to go big on my tummy, but I'm afraid of how it will look and how it will age. If I stop taking the medication at some point, and I lose a bunch of weight, is the tattoo going to look like a deflated balloon? I have stretch marks on my sides - I'd love to cover those up, but obviously the skin stretched faster than it could keep up. What are my options?
P.S. I'm not retarded.
Great idea! Tattoos make you look more slim.

How's your collection been comin along? Without you instagram for a minute I was missing pictures of delicious food and your tat-progress!
Yeah, I came crawling back to the Instagram because of 1) good friends of mine asking me nicely to come back and 2) boredom at the Long Beach Airport because TSA is a breeze and I miscalculated my timing.
I told myself "no more tattoos for awhile" and obviously that didn't work out. But I'm going to make another attempt at a sabbatical after June. We'll see how that goes.
Did you get this done already? Would love to pop in and say hello/laugh at you in pain
Just finished this yesterday. And thankfully no one was around to watch me die except Jason.

Is there anything that can be done differently during healing to preserve the color in a tattoo? I know that there are products that claim to preserve color, but I'm wondering if there is anything special that can be done that really works. I would think that you would just want the healing process to be as normal as possible and to not have scabs that could come off and let the ink out of your skin. I wanted to see if I was missing anything and am looking for thoughts and opinions in this thread.

I'm pretty sure Dan just left for Europe, and plans to be there for the next few months. Make a plan to get tattooed by Cheyenne. Then make your way up to Vancouver. The Canadian dollar is shit right now so you could come up here and live like a king.
Duly noted! I def want a Cheyenne tattoo, especially after @9Years glowing review of his tattoo experience.

did you witness the really fun parts when i covered my face with my shirt?
That's my method of choice as well. Or a beanie pulled over my face. Or just dying.

I can't believe I've never looked through this thread before. Barely on Page 2 and this is by far one of my favorites. I need a Battle Royale on my back.

A belated welcome to the boards!

Thank you! That page is really cool, and some of his orig photos are up on Ebay. I can't imagine that tattoo being by hand poke, and the machine was apparently invented in 1891 hah. Such a mystery. Anyway I'm enjoying the search as much as the rest of the experience.
Can't wait to see your tribute finished. That's gonna be so cool.

If I was in RVA, I would see Mike Rennie for American Traditional. He would knock that out of the park.
What are tattoo appointment essentials?
