  1. I've thought about this plenty of times. I want a Devita piece, but obviously I won't be able to get that. I've always thought the next best thing is to get someone that knows him, understands him, etc. to do it. Granted, I know I can't get Scott Harrison to do it (maybe I can?) but if he were still actively tattooing, I'd ask to get something similar to a Devita tattoo. While it won't be a Devita tattoo, I know it'll have the essence of a Devita tattoo since someone that knows and appreciates Devita is doing it.
  2. To answer the original question, if the shop you're in doesn't have the aforementioned Higgs flash, then you're probably in the wrong shop. Or just say you want a "Higgs mummy" or "Higgs druid" or "Higgs bat", etc. I'm hoping the tattooer will know what you're talking about. At the same time, I would want someone that's stoked on Higgs to do the tattoo as well, or like others mentioned, someone that may even know him. There are tons of tattoos I want in the new Eleven Fourteen book, the Zeis book, the new Great Unknown book, 400 Flash from Rodin and Miller, etc. I haven't bought those books, but I wouldn't lift any of those images off the Internet neither. If I see flash that I really like, I'm just gonna track down that tattooer and get tattooed by them. Or hopefully the shop I'm at has the books and I could just pick out an image from there. Totally rambling at this point.
  3. You are my role model. Badassery in full effect! Times like this make me wish I went with only one tattoo artist. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming Stewart is the only artist?
  4. I'm on standby for picking up merch for folks, so don't paypal me anything yet. If BART is still on strike, then my attendance is definitely questionable.
  5. I have friends from out of town visiting me that weekend. I was contemplating bringing them to SFO. They're not into tattoos as much as I am, but I think they are open to checking it out.
  6. One time I tipped Hector Fong in dried squid. True story. And some cash too.
  7. Definitely thought about getting this.
  8. Haven't heard any new RJD2, but his first album was a classic. I liked his second album as well. As far as El-P goes, Run The Jewels is so damn good.
  9. How do you get from BART to the convention? Walk? Taxi? Shuttle?
  10. I'd say he's pretty quick. I have a piece from him in my gallery.
  11. I only want to get fit when it's time to get my stomach tattooed. I'm crazy.
  12. The single from the new album is good not great. I think because I hold the first album in such a high regard, that anything considered the follow up would let me down. - - - Updated - - - Both Sides of the Brain is super good. So is No Need For Alarm. I'm a Danny Brown fan as well. And I think you were one of the posters that mentioned Henry Lewis to me in the first place, somewhere on this board.
  13. Touche my friend. That's really subtle though. You wouldn't know it unless you were staring at my calf. I want something a little more bold. - - - Updated - - - Haven't heard the new album, but the old one is a game-changer. Absolute classic.
  14. Thinking about getting a Wu-Tang tattoo. But I'm looking for an artist that would be into them too. It probably doesn't matter that they listen to them, but it'd be nice. I'm probably over-thinking this. Henry Lewis immediately comes to mind, but I know he's usually into doing bigger work. Same with Andre Malcolm. Jonah Levin's a possibility.
  15. I heard about Daniel Albrigo through Mother Brother liner notes. True story.
  16. I just want to pick up my new winter wardrobe (aka lots of shop and convention t-shirts).
  17. I wear a suit and tie myself. Just recently I showed up to the company picnic to play softball. Definitely got some crazy looks.
  18. I want that Hardy Lupe now. Those waves are killer.
  19. I had a very respected tattooer tell me that I may be getting tattooed a little too fast, and to slow it down. So I am. But my thinking goes like this: get my limbs done first with all the big designs I want, then filler afterwards. Once the limbs are done, I want one artist to do my front. But not one giant piece, I want patchwork. Something similar to what Stuart Cripwell and Matthew Houston are doing lately. I've thought about saving the back piece for last, but there are some days I want to start my back piece right now, before I even finish any limbs. I go back and forth on this every day.
  20. One of my favorite Loopz. Jason Phillips - Oakland, CA: FTW - - - Updated - - - Another one of my favorite Guadalupe tattoos: Stuart Cripwell, Spider Murphy's in San Rafael, CA
