I would go this route. I agree with this too. My two cents, you don't have to be a sailor to get sailor tattoos. You don't have to be Japanese to get Japanese tattoos. Plus, living that close to GTC, it makes sense to want to get tattooed in that style there. I'm also saving my back for last, because I am truly putting a lot of thought on what to get back there. Good luck!

Finally finished my left knee ditch, drawn on. Right knee ditch healed, from the Black Heart line book on Walk-In Sundays. Both done by Jeff Rassier at Black Heart in San Francisco, CA.

Now I know how girls feel when guys are always staring at their boobs. I find that when having conversations with new people, I lose eye contact with them and they start staring at my tattoos.

Your overall look as a tattooed person
CABS replied to keepcalm's topic in General Tattoo Discussion
So jealous Ross! I just read this entire thread. I don't know why I haven't seen it sooner. As of right now, I like balance. Not necessarily symmetry, but there's no way I could have just worked on one limb at a time. As far as my "overall look" goes, in business attire nobody is the wiser that I'm tattooed. In shorts and a tee, it's pretty obvious. I still get shy around old people though. My initial instincts are to cover up with a jacket. But that instinct is slowly starting to fade. I have a bunch of gaps that are totally bothering me right now. But I'm trying to abide by my self-imposed rule of waiting for a tattoo to heal before I start the next one. -

The catalog is such a steal. 20 bucks? Insane. There's a Shige skull backpiece on a woman that is absolutely breathtaking. And I cannot gush enough about that Stan Corona back. -
Got a one shot on my chest that took approx. 5 hours more or less. I would rather not sit that long ever again, but I probably will. Didn't like feeling feverish after.

Good times last night Motsimus!

Eddy Deutsche, Bert Krak, Jeff Rassier... insanely quick and efficient. If I lived in LA, I would have Eddy make all my tattoos.

In this thread, we commiserate about healing our fresh tattoos.

I want to go the Tegiderm route but I'm being a cheap bastard. Plus I want to finish my Aquaphor which I have a ton of still. -
I'm in SF today if you want to grab a beer. My Instagram handle is @damncabs. I want to get tattooed right now, but I'm healing two at the moment. =( Trying to stick to this rule where I heal one at a time. The struggle is real.

Thanks for reminding me. Still need to try my luck with walk-in Sundays.

I'll be there on Saturday. Trying to get tattooed by Virginia Elwood hopefully. Would love to meet up with LST'ers too. PS: Damn you Ross. -

I'm with you on this. I think I'm gonna start my back soon. I was gonna wait till I'm dating someone to start my back, so they can lotion it, haah. But no need! Bendy arms for the win. -
Jealous AF. Two of my faves. Valerie appointments seem unattainable so I've just given up all together, and pray for a chance occurrence that I can snag a spot with her someday. Getting my knee ditches finished by Jeff Rassier. Then I should be done getting tattooed for the year. Maybe.

This is true. But I'm just glad I got the majority of it out of the way, specifically the sternum.

1 shot Zeis Tiger/Snake by Jason Phillips at FTW in Oakland, CA. Jason slays both Japanese and American traditional. If you're ever in the Bay Area, you should definitely book an appointment with him. So happy with how this turned out. So glad I don't ever have to tattoo my chest ever again.

Certain parts of the chest are just awful. Right up there with the elbow, imo.

This exhibit opened my eyes even wider as to have breathtaking Japanese tattooing is. This exhibit also really put me onto Brian Kaneko. His work is phenomenal. -
I have two Indian girl heads, one on each shoulder. I am not Native American. I just think they look rad. One from Hector Fong and one from Eli Quinters.

I have a similar rule: no hands, no neck, no face. And no feet too for some reason, I dunno why.
-
For me, I'm all about balance. I'm slowing chipping away at all my limbs. I couldn't have one limb completely filled while the others are blank. I think the last spot I'll ever have are those weird inner thigh spots.

I'm all for a big giant line through an ex's name.
