  1. IMO, I would try going to work braless until its peeled. Or try a different bras, some sports bras are looser and may not be as harsh on your tattoo. However, I'm sure re-wrapping just for work isn't going to ruin your tattoo.
  2. My latest tattoos on my shoulders were a bizarre experience. Obviously, the collarbone sucked, but I've felt worse... We did one complete shoulder first, and so my body/brain was focusing on easing that shoulder. So when we moved to the outline of the other shoulder it was the most god awful pain ever. Worse than my foot and ribs.. My body must have been sending all of its painkillers to the first shoulder, so the second one was just raw, 100% pain. Not fun.
  3. Well might as well since I finally have a worthy tattoo... Scott Sylvia, Guest Spot @ Kings Avenue Tattoo, NYC
  4. Pretty close, took a little longer for laughing breaks :)
  5. My new roses! I think every one can guess who did them :)
  6. My new favorite is Marija Ripley from Sailors Grave in Copenhagen. Absolutely unreal. (And I'm super photo-posting illiterate, so just look her up, sorry!)
  7. I second the persistent swelling of the inner bicep. I swear my arm was twice the size and it just like hung there and shook with every little move I made. Not doing that again for awhile. This weekend I'm getting the tops of my shoulders done, and not looking forward to no bra straps and having to keep it covered at work while it heals. Does any one have a preferred type of clothing material to wear over a healing tattoo? I'm so worried that I'm going to flake off the ink at work... Probably should have just taken the next day off, but need to pay for the tattoo!! :)
  8. Did I miss something? Is there a convention in VT? That's where I grew up, I'm up there aaalll the time & never knew they held one.
  9. There is already a thread on this subject. (I don't know how to link it here). Just search "pinup girls".
  10. This is how I feel. My tattoos empower me and are an extension of myself/my personality and therefore, have more meaning than if they referred to a meaningful time in my life. The tattoo I go for my grandmother is my least favorite tattoo, not that I regret it, but trying to be so tedious about getting it right lost the meaning behind it somewhere. It probably would have been a better tattoo if she gave me the tattoo as a gift and we came up with ideas together and made a day of it. Bottom of the line, people who ask "what does it mean" or "did it hurt" or "how much did it cost" really don't give a shit about tattoo community or culture. They just think its a "cool" thing to do. To me, its so so much more...
  11. That's really interesting (and makes sense), thanks for posting!
  12. Mine was 3 hours and I was definitely ready to be done by then. I think 3 hours is my max for any tattoo. Just be prepared for 2 sessions just in case...
  13. My first tattoo was on my ribs as well, and was not nearly as hellish as I made it out to be in my mind. But if you're not concerned about the pain and discomfort, then a solid artist can tattoo anywhere. However, my personal preference for a lady head would not be on the ribs as its not a super flat surface and you don't want her head to look weird every time you move, but that's just me. I think the upper thigh is a great place for a concealed lady head, unless you want the tattoo to be larger and more detailed--then go for the ribs. With all that said, I have seen lady heads on the ribs and if they are placed well they look awesome. It's really up to you and where you'd like it best...
  14. Nice! I'm giving up a shift for this (worth it!), so will have to work the next day... in pain. Boo.
  15. Just booked with Scott Sylvia for his guest spot in NYC :)
  16. We live in Jersey City and were evacuated Sunday night. Still living at my fiance's father's house more inland in NJ. Our house is going on day 7 with no power. We've gone to visit it twice now to make sure everything is intact and collect clean clothes, etc. There's a huge power line down and all they've done is put some tape around the area to block of traffic and now a PSE&G worker is just chilling there in his van so no one drives by. It's pretty ridiculous and people who live in our complex are starting to lose it. Most of Jersey City and Bayonne has power now, but we've been left in the dark. Thankfully we have a place with power to stay, but hate not being able to go home. Feel bad for the people with young children and babies and senior citizens... Love the support on here though! Hang in there every one!
  17. Yeah, I didn't understand that cat scan scene. It was just kind of there and not explained. Not that most things need to be explained, but it was so random... This last season is going to be interesting for numerous reasons, but mainly because we know he most likely doesn't end up in prison. Maybe Hank helps him run if he stays away from Skylar & co?
  18. I definitely doubt Walt is a good guy caught up in a whirlwind and I also don't think he ever was to begin with. However, he started cooking for his family & intended on dying of cancer, but then succumbed to the pressure to get treatment. I never once thought he got treatment because he felt like his family needed him, but more because he realized how much money he was making and it might be worth it to stay alive. Even now when he told Skylar he was still working to make up for the money she gave to Ted, it felt like a lie. He is not in it to make enough money for the kids and stop. However, I agree that's his choice and not out of his control--that he's caught up in the "game". But it's strange watching it now and feeling like Mike is the good guy (working for his granddaughter--even though he kills people, but hey, I would kill for my family...) and Walt is a soulless power-hungry machine. Even though he may have always been leaning towards "bad", it's still difficult to watch. I kind of feel like Skylar while I'm watching it, but also feel like she should give him a chance. I never thought this season could go anywhere and it's already so crazy and intense, yet calmer than past seasons, too. It's a subtle, gnawing kind of crazy...
