Aw, I know! I would take them all home if I could. She's actually a blue pit with white paws & a white belly. -

Thanks! And I agree. One of the main reasons were getting her is because she's incredibly intelligent and a big snuggle bug. Not many people realize what excellent companions dogs they make. -
So I have a great story about our amazing dog ! *long read*

I can understand why people could be put off by threads like the ones Dan started because this is a "Tattoo" forum after all. But I think all forums tend to have random threads and sections because that is where our personalities shine. We're all here because we like tattoos, but chances are we share a lot of other interests, like dogs and cool stories, etc. I'll miss Dan. His dog and family stories were great. Zephyr reminds me a lot of my Dads dog and Dan kind of reminds me of my Dad! Huh! But this is a good opportunity for all posters to reflect on how we want to present ourselves on the Internet. It's hard sometimes to sound like a genuine human being with text only. I know Delicious meant no harm. I've come off bitchy in the past. It's real hard to approach issues on a forum some times. Just be aware. -

She's a pitbull rescue, 3 years old. Her name is Eva (we don't want to change it since she responds to it) & I like it anyway- it suits her! -

I'm adopting a dog on Saturday!!!!! I can't fricken wait! Just had to share :) It's been about 3 years since the last love of my life passed and now that we're finally settled (not moving anytime soon) we are taking the plunge! This is going to be my fiance's first dog ever & my first dog all to myself (no parents or brothers to share with), so it will be an interesting life journey for both of us. I promise to keep the doggy spam to a minimum :) -
When I got my shoulders done I used aquaphor for the first time and eventually switched to lotion, making sure it dried out well before putting anything on. However, a lot of color fell out. When I got them touched up, I decided to completely leave them alone and keep them clean and they healed beautifully. Granted, it was two different tattooers each time, but I really doubt that would make a difference.

Both of those places are easy for me to get to. I'll just wear a tank top and every one will know who I am :p Lets do this! C'mon people of NYC!

On the weekends I'm usually free and frequent Manhatten. If there isn't a crazy age gap (Im 23) and its not a sausage fest... then ill try to make it out :)
-
Ahhh gotcha!
-
Haha definitely! And my stupid iPad is awful at properly upper casing words.

You're not alone in having to hold off tattoos. After my next one in July ill probably have to put off tattoos for about a year. I'm hoping to pay off the credit card (ick) and then hoping to adopt a dog (yay!) and start saving for my dream car... A jeep wrangler (woo!) Thankful for this forum, so I can live out my tattoo dreams through every one else :)

I think I'm going to show Rose this in progress painting Mel Muntean posted on Instagram. It's the exact placement/layout I was thinking of. I can't f'in wait. - - - Updated - - - This is true. And I'm like 75% sure I want to get another lady head on the other thigh (love the look) so this will probably happen :)

I dont think I'd trust my other half to apply lotion, just sayin. :)

Well this isn't something awesome I've done, but I was definitely a part of it. My fiancé recently recorded his first studio album of his own compositions. Some of the songs have been in development for 10 years, so it has been really exciting going through this journey with him. If any one is into jazz fusion (with some rock and Latin influences) you can check out his album on iTunes (it's also on Spotify). He plays drums n the album. https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/tarantula-dance/id660104984 (Sorry for the promotion, but its just so awesome and exciting!) -
Full Back Piece Experience Thread

I've been told by a few people (tattooers included) that painkillers don't make a difference with the pain. But if people on here are claiming to use them and they do reduce the pain, then that must be wrong. Unless it's a psychological thing? Like a placebo effect? I never use them because I don't ever feel like I need to, even with longer sessions. -
Post away! I was worried this post was going to be pointless because its eventually my own decision, but so far every one has been helpful. People need support, critique, fresh ideas, etc. when coming up with an idea sometimes. I'm thinking of giving Rose some options, but leaning a little more towards the wolf idea... We will see what happens...
-
Now you're giving me more ideas to choose from!! Ahhhh :)
-
That's kind of how I feel too. The only reason I was considering floral-y stuff was because its timeless and, well, feminine. But I love her animal tattoos, especially the wolves she's done.

I have a consult at the end of the month with Rose Hardy and I'm having difficulty deciding on what to get, so what better way to get help than from strangers on the Internet?! :) I really refrained from this for a LONG time, but with the consult only 2ish weeks away, I'm getting more and more desperate to nail down a direction for the tattoo. I know I want: -A lady head -A "strong, confident" lady head (I've been doing a lot of advocacy for women over the past few years and want to wake up to a strong woman everyday to give me confidence- woo girl power!) -Flowers incorporated (I love Rose Hardy's almost metallic-like roses) I can't decide if I want: -A lady head with a wolf (not a headdress, more like a companion- placed underneath the lady head) OR -A "mother nature" lady head and just have flowers, branches, leaves, and lots of hair My approach has been to look at Rose Hardy's work and note elements I like from tattoos she's done in the past, but its so hard to decide between all that amazing ness! I'm still considering just giving her options and letting her pick the one she would rather do/thinks would come out the best. This will be going on my thigh and be about a 6 hour tattoo (to give an idea of size). Thoughts?

Since I'm not an aspiring tattooer I can't really make valid suggestions like the others have. However, I would recommend watching the artist interviews on here. Almost (if not all) of them talk about how they got started and most of them had to put up with a lot of shit and hard times before getting more work. Their stories might inspire you and help you think of a new approach or making a change.

Etsy.com... Always a go to for any and everything handmade.

Time for an intervention? Seems like she's got a bad case of "Hipster Irony".

Welcome! The best thing you can do is check out tattooers styles that you like. Once you find a tattooer who you would like to work with, take your idea to them and let them design it for you. Chance are they will be able to draw something up better than what you will patch together here or on the Internet. If you let us know where you are located, some one could help point you in the direction of some quality artists to check out. Enjoy your browsing of LST!

Don't worry about it if you're happy with the tattoo. I also have an upside down tattoo. Its my dogs paw print on my foot. i wanted it to lay with my foot, going the same way, not thinking about it being upside down to the world. Part of me wishes I got it done the right way. The artist told me why it should go the right way, but I was a picky client too. I still don't regret it and I still love looking at it thinking about my puppy :) Since both of our tattoos are fairly small I don't think it's a big deal. When/if you start getting larger works and want me upside down, then it's an issue :) And like every one else said, let it settle in, then think about getting it fixed up. See how you feel about it in a month or two. Also if you want to let us know where you're located, we can suggest good shops to add to it or for your future tattoo needs.
