I got this from Deno at this summers Inkbash in Stockholm. He came up with putting the gorilla in a tower and the roots there. Midway through I asked him if he wasn't going to put something coming out of the skull. "Like what?" .. I don't know, something.. And he just put that dot trail in there, no pencil or anything. I think the whole piece came out just nice and strong, might be one of my favorite tattoos so far. He was super quick and fun to chat with. Tried to ask him about how graffiti has helped him develop as a tattooer but he didn't have much to say about it, except being taught to work fast. Jelle SOOS came by to say hi too, so I got to exchange a few words with him also. Man travels, a lot! Tomorrow I'm going to be under the needle of Joel Madberg SOOS. Putting a bird with alligator head on and around my knee, same leg as the tattoo above. A little scared of the knee actually, will I shake like crazy? (edit: oh by the way, the picture above is from today so the tattoo is close to 6 weeks healed or so)

Great to come back to this thread and see what every one has been up too. Especially happy to see that it is in fact a fellow forum member who is getting that crazy Chris O'Donnell Wolf-piece. Can't wait to see it finished, thought the idea was rad even when I only saw the sketches. As for me I am waiting for this friday when I finally get my time with Deno at Stockholm Inkbash, in early october I am starting my major knee piece with Joel Madberg SOOS, later this week I'm meeting Iain Mullen to talk about putting in the lower part of my right sleeve. Aaaand.. hopefully I can get on Peter Lagergrens list for 2013 and make that upsidedown ROA on my thigh. I declare these 10 coming months until summer 2013 to be the year of big pieces!

"Obersturmbahn Furher" was his rank title in the military, not his name. I doubt we will ever know his name.

To re-vitalize an old thread which still is relevant. If you ever find yourself in Stockholm you should head to Henrik Gallon. He's got just the style you're after I think. Check out his shop: Gallon Tattoo -
I am currently studying to be a journalist, having all ready finished 2 years of photography studies. For a long time I considered not getting my lower arms done. My thoughts went along the lines of "I need to present myself as a trustworthy (for lack of better words) person when I interview people and work out on the field". But now I realized that I would still have to wear a long sleeve shirt since I got upper arm tattoos. Maybe I could roll the sleeves up to the elbows but still, long sleeve shirt. So I decided to go for full sleeve tattoos anyways, I can deal with wearing long sleeves when working. Also I think the world is warming up towards tattoos now, do you agree? At least in Stockholm, where I live, tattoos are very common and you see them on people in all kinds of careers. However if I plan to work as a traveling journalist I think I still have to cover up in most parts of the world. It would be interesting to hear pointers from those of you that sometimes go on business trips and such, say to Asia or Africa (where's there's a lot of interesting things happening for a journalist right now) How do you dress when you're in a town or country where you're not sure of the reaction people will have towards your tattoos?

Religious tattoos...on the non-religious

I'm planning to have one in the future. And instead of having a woman cling on to it in desperation I want a woman climbing it and reaching for the skies, or for better days, if you like. I think Simon Erl would do a great job at it. Positive yet grim, is the feeling I'm after. edit: oh this was a reply to CercleRouge who wrote: "I like the idea of a Rock of Ages tattoo but with an upside down stone cross. Anyone seen one?" -
Here's my half sleeve in progress. Half shaded and the inside of the arm has nothing on it yet. By Frej Lind @ Royal Arch Tattoo in Västerås, Sweden. My next appointments are to get this side of the arm finished up and also one with Deno at Stockholm Inkbash in august. He's giving me a monkey contemplating a human skull. It's going to be fun!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I added photos off all my current tattoos in my gallery now. The moltov cocktail and WIP half sleeve are the most recent. I am sure I will be _very_ addicted to this forum :)

Greetings fellow forum members My name is Joakim, I'm 25 and I live in Stockholm. Skateboarder, educated photographer, internet-addict, current student of journalism, lover of obscure t-shirts, late night walks and movies. I got my first tattoo just three years ago, largely by accident and misfortune. However, I've always liked the idea of being covered with tattoos. And I probably never would gotten across that obstacle of getting that first, and SO self defining, tattoo if it didn't happen by accident. Don't get tattoos under the influence, unless you like it 3 year later! As for now, I recently got my 11:th tattoo and the last year has been an interesting journey in refining and thinking about my taste in tattoos and what kind of art I'd like to put on my body. I like: anything occult looking, any motif you can interpret both negatively and positively, black n gray n bold. I don't like: trends in tattooing, flipped out colors and no outlines I don't understand: 90's style tribals and Japanese style Of all the forums I've looked at with tattoo discussions this seems to be the most serious and with people of good taste. So I am glad to register here and be part of the conversations. Cheers! /Joakim
