LST Tattoo Forum, Six Months Live
AlannaCA replied to Lochlan's topic in Forum Suggestions and Feedback
I found LST through Lizzie who posted a link in one of her twitter messages and just by chance i decided i would click the link and see what LST was all about (i usually never pay attention to what people post or bother to take the time to look ). i was hooked immediately. This was back in September but i didnt join until November because i usually dont sign up to forums. I looked through every possible thread multiple times just soaking up all the information and 5 months later i have learned so much! i am confident that i can be a great client and make better decisions on what artists i choose to get tatooed by in the future. i love the family like community and i was so surprised when people responded when i introduced myself in the initiation thread. everyone was so welcoming and i love that even though its a tattoo forum there is almost as much food talk going on as tattoo talk! the video interviews are amazing and you really get to know amazing artists on a differnt level! i am so happy to know that more and more people are signing up and discovering the beauty of this amazing site! i guess all i have left to say is that making a trip to California to meet some of these amazing people is for sure at the top of my vacation TO DO list. oh yes and i vote that Hogg interviews Scott. Congrates Lochlan and Scott on your first 6 Months Live! -

I've been on a chocolate spree this week! on boxing day my friend brought me to the Lindt chocolate factory and i bought about 15KG of different kinds of chocolate! i dont mean the ones in boxes or the ones for eating this is the stuff for melting down and making truffles, using for baking and stuff. so finally i decided to make truffles. i made a long list of flavours that i want to try and heres what i did: white coconut ganache dipped in dark chocolate dark chocolate with maple syrup, bacon and peanuts- i got some great feedback on this one creme brulee filling dipped in white chocolate mint jalapeno white chocolate ganache- i wanted it too be a bit spicy but it didnt work. i might have to use a different pepper next time bailys liquor and dark chocolate im trying to think up some other crazy combinations and if anyone has any ideas please share!!

if the insides too soft maybe you didnt bake them long enough? did the top of the cupcake start to form a dimple when they cooled? its hard to tell without seeing it! could be the wrong ratio of wet to dry ingrediants also(depends where the recipe came from)!

Deb, first off, yes big weight lifted and i feel so much better! i told him about the 2 that i already have, but i failed to mention anything about future tattoos, is it too much to hope that he will put 2 and 2 together and assume that since i started getting tattoos that im just going to keep going?! i am hoping that the response i got last night was kind of his way of saying that im an adult now and no amount words that he could say would change my mind, so he just didnt use any at all! he raised me to be a very responsible person and i think really hard and research things really well that i want to do before jumping into them.

so the reason i started this thread is because i wanted to know how other peoples families reacted to their first tattoos and everyone who contributed to the thread did not disappoint! i was hoping that peoples stories might give me inspiration to get over my fear and just do it and that maybe one day i would be able to add another entry with my own story. well at a young age my dad put the "FEAR" into me and my brother which made him a very scary man to us,(thats why i said i was afraid that he might kick me out of the house, its so easy to imagine the worst possible scenario). we were sitting on the couch this evening watching the news about the Japan earthquake and i just decided to come out and say it. I gave him this long explanation in one breath and when i was done i had to try not to look away because thats when i usually get the "look". what i mean by the "look"- if you dont know already- is what we would see when we got in trouble as kids and it would scare the crap out of us. well the "look" did not come and neither did many words! actually no words at all, just a sound, something along the lines of hmuhff !?1? then he turned his attention back to the TV and i left the room and had to remember to breath again! i wonder if i shocked him or if my plan of leaving tattoo magazines strategicly placed all over the house(to desensitize him) worked? anyway whatever the reason im glad i got it over with!

i recently made individual coconut chicken Curry pot pies with puff pastry on top. what a treat, they were so yummy! also the other day i made the best stir fry i think i have ever made in my life! i used a whole bunch of veg i had in the fridge and chicken breast and for the sauce i followed a recipe i found on the back of a noodle package (believe it or not). mmmmm so good ive been eating it for the last 2 days! at work my boss sent me this new recipe she wanted me to try for raw naniamo bars and i finished them today and cut them up. of course one of the perks of my job is that i get the scraps and let me tell you they were so much better than real naniamo bars. i was so tempted to eat a whole bar!! mmmmmm my mouth is watering just thinking about these awesome desserts!

haha! i love when just the mere smell of something can bring back vivid memories! any way i was taking care of my tattoo artists dog while she was away for a couple weeks and when i brought her home i realized she smelled just like the shop(soap, smoke, weed etc.)and i have to admit i love it. when you were talking about smells i thought of that and that when i returned the pup to her owner she made a comment that she smelled just like my perfume and i failed to mention that i loved she smelled when i first took her home!
