  1. Yep. I've got a "lady head", but no realism "portrait", per se.
  2. @eisen7979 Haha, awesome. https://www.instagram.com/p/BR2Y8ocjX28/?taken-by=steve_byrne_tattoo&hl=en
  3. the world is your oyster. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it until something makes a strong impact on you in particular.
  4. I did, @Gingerninja! Ended up doing my knee and some gap filler, too. Still red, angry and swollen right now, so I'll post pictures as soon as it's healed.
  5. @DJDeepFried @TrixieFaux Congratulations, you two.
  6. SCORE! Found out yesterday afternoon that Henry Lewis would be doing a 1-day guesting at Eye Candy here, so I caught an appointment for TOMORROW. Glad I was paying attention. https://www.instagram.com/henrylewis77/

    Hello!

bottom line, you're just going to have to wait (at least 4-6 weeks) and see.
  8. another way to describe the style you're looking for would be "illustrative".
  9. or Henri Gates http://www.henrigates.com/tattoos.html
  10. Looks good now, but honestly I'd be worried that with that style and size it may be hard to read in 10 years.
  11. @Manu Manu is winning, but all three posted this weekend are super.
  12. Very cool, @TheFnTexan. Jacci tattooed me at Electric Ladyland in New Orleans back in the early 80s.
  13. Agreed. Scott's work = http://www.tildeathdenver.com/scott-garitson/ Also Jacob Rivera = https://www.instagram.com/blackbearwhiskey/?hl=en and Jared Rice = https://www.instagram.com/world.class.tattoos/?hl=en there are lots of talented people there. I think there are so many in/around Denver that some who would otherwise be booked out for many months in other cities are living week by week there. You should do good booking this early.
  14. Certainly doable (cover or re-work) given the right artist. Send us a link to whomever you are considering. There are dozens of excellent blackwork and/or illustrative artists in the UK.

    Hello!

Welcome, and thanks for the photos!
  17. really depends on how good the tattooist is as to whether or not the saturation is going to last
  18. The photo realism style isn't something I personally track so much, but there is no doubt there are at least a few world class artists in that field over there. Take your time and keep up the research. The right artist will fall into place in time.
  19. Yeah, just let is heal. It may be a couple of weeks before it settles down. Try to relax.
  20. how much time has passed since you showed it to the artist?
  21. He's pretty good, but not overly detailed in his execution, so it kind of depends on what you want to have done.
  22. I personally don't know a lot about tattooing and tattooists in China. I don't remember much discussion here about it, but if you're not familiar with tattooing yourself I'd encourage you to to use the history on this forum to learn as much as you can about how to spot good work, competent tattooing and talented artistry. From there you'd be able to see what's available in your area and who is doing progressive work.
