  1. Yep. It'll be 3-4 weeks at least before it's completely healed, and even then it''ll likely still be a bit shiny (and that's without ointment, which is completely optional).
  2. Yep. More trees. Mountains. Clouds. Can you link your artist's portfolio? Seeing what he/she is capable of or comfortable with will help, too.

    I hate summer :(

1st day of summer and our 1st tropical storm. Woo-hoo!

    hey!

Hiya, @flipcrab85 . There's no one in SE Louisiana that I'm aware of who specializes in black and grey realism, but there are a couple in this shop who are superior and might fit into what you want to end up with. https://eyecandytattoo.wordpress.com/category/uncategorized/ Alternatively, Nate Beavers http://www.natebeavers.com/ in Houston or Sean Hermann http://seanherman.com/work-gallery/ just south of Mobile might be your best bets . . . Riding out the heavy weather today?
  5. Are you willing to have a competent artist re-work what you've got or cover it all together?
  6. @kassandrac Nice, and always credit your artist!
  7. @dotcommie Jacob does great work, and now you wear one!
  8. His portrait alone, without the car and background would fit nicely on your thigh - and wouldn't be such a commitment of space/money for an ideal that may not be as important to you 20 years from now.
  9. a = not as long as the tattoo is huge. that's a lot of image, and for any detail at all - it's going to have to be massive. b = your complete back or torso c = you're friends sound homophobic. or redneck. last trick is going to find the right artist, otherwise you are going to end up wanting to hide it.
  10. I had finally achieved a measure of balance until I started my side-piece last month. Now I'm left heavy and starting to wonder what to do with the right side . . . We didn't finish the left side Monday like we had hoped, and I've got a destination beach wedding/vacation to attend in early July, so I couldn't schedule my 3rd and last side-piece session until early August. It's close, but poop.
  11. It doesn't look infected, it just looks like whoever did it dug in really deep. The raised part isn't peeling skin but appears to be trauma from underneath. Nothing you can do about it but wait, I suspect.
  12. That is indeed a very European styling. As a follower of blackwork in general I can't say I remember anyone in the States who specializes in what I'd call "abstract minimalist". If I had this question and lived in Tampa, I'd go and visit Phil Holt, Chelsea Rhea and Nick Stegall and see if they had any insight. Redletter also has Joey Ortega doing a guest spot there soon. He spends months each year in Europe and may have input on if anyone in the States is active in this.
  13. nice piece, @Gingerninja! @Hands On Thanks for turning me on to Jeff Rassier! Perfect fillers, and he's just moved up to my short list.
  14. The OP assumes that we are comfortable with the fact that both he and his tattooist have all the experience that they need. All those jokers who get shitty tattoos on Inkmaster felt the same way, too - but hey, we've got no ethics.
  15. Exactly where I was leading. Any why would any tattooer not want free advertisement?

    Tattoo help

In over 40 years of getting tattooed I've never put anything on mine. Ever. They've all healed just fine.

anti-bacterial soap is only for when it's still an open wound.
  18. Your answer depends on the tattooist. If you're expecting just some tattooist to exactly reproduce an on-line image you've brought in - you're heading in the wrong direction. Only a high quality tattooist is going to be able to pull that off, and that is where your search should begin.
  19. that redness and warmness shouldn't still be there a week afterwards. might be infected, aside from them digging into you pretty good.
  20. Lyon isn't too far from there and Florian Bousquet is one of my favorites; https://www.instagram.com/strange_dust/?hl=en
