  1. A little bit of New Orleans funk!! That's a helluva festival. I attended about 8-10 years ago while visiting some customers there.
  2. Welcome, and standing by for pics!
  3. post a link to his portfolio!
  4. It's always good to bring reference material, but once you've grazed a bit on this site you'll notice pretty much all agree that you should 1st find an artist whose style and work you love, and then let them do the layout and design utilizing the elements you've brought to the table. You'll end up with a much more professional and visually appealing result in the end. The tricky part is making sure you've got the right artist . . .
  5. Welcome, and smart move.
  6. or, :p, you can mail it to me and I'll try and get him to sign it when I have my consult . . .
  7. Welcome! Nice sentiment. My advice would be to keep the words to a minimum. Nobody is going to want to read a paragraph - even if it is a small one. Maybe just "everything happens for a reason" and make the image larger. It'll still mean the same to you when you're older - and (if you pick the right artist) you'll have an awesome tattoo you'll still want to show off.

    Hi

Welcome! It's probably really good you came here before you went with any previous impulse . . .

    Hello!

Indeed. Welcome, and please credit your artist. Nice work!!
  14. Hell yes. After all, this is all just tattoo porn. May as well have some ass in it, too.
  15. Dude. You made Tattoo Culture's Magazine instagram with this one. Congrats.
  16. You shouldn't be intimidated by them being high profile. They are well known because they are excellent at what they do. Generally, their rates will reflect that. Some may be less interested in doing a small tattoo than others. Check out portfolios and see what they've been doing. At least a couple of them are rather spiritual in their approach to this style. Don't limit the size if you can. It'd be a shame to get in with one of these guys and then wish later you'd taken more advantage of the effort it's going to take to get seated in front of one of them.
  17. That style is gaining some popularity and foothold. I like black and dotwork a lot, so there is some crossover - but I don't specifically follow geometrical design specialists. Aside from Hooper - Jondix, Roxx, Erik Jacobsen and Dillon Forte come to mind - all in California, I think. John Sultana works out of Saved in NYC. Believe there might be 1 or 2 in or near Toronto, too.
