  1. See - not so scary. Now make sure you don't hesitate or procrastinate on returning when they told you to. My Mom died at 67 from that and I've been having them regular since I was 45.
  2. Sorry here - I've never tried to keep a mental list of photorealistic animal portrait artists.
  3. That first meal tomorrow is gonna taste really good!
  4. Yep. It's not going to be quite so "bright" after 6-8 months, too.
  5. I wish you luck, and I'd be very interested in a day by day account of how you handle it.

    Hello!

Welcome, and very nice work! The itch will come.

    Allergy?

Dermatologists are rarely fans, in my experience. Usually just throw up their hands.
  9. Your brother must have gone on the day the tattooist wasn't high as shit. If I was going to try and fix that I'd find someone competent (tricky part) and have them make the black outlines thick enough to straighten them out. The yellow one looks to be the thinnest, so the trick would be to make all the black lines as thick as need be to make all the colors the same width - also balancing out the space between the rings.
  10. I've never heard of ink "spreading", so that shouldn't be a concern. It does look to me like it will need a repair session - but I don't have any practical experience with the hows and expectations of photorealism style fixes.
  11. Still looking a bit red and angry in there. I can't imagine hot water doing that damage. Have you showed it to the artist, yet? Who did it?
  12. It's not unlikely that both of those artists have work from each other, too.

    Allergy?

Oh, hell, no. Very likely temporary or at worst sporadic. Good luck with the dermatologist.

Not many (or any) artists are going to spend an hour's time (or multiple hours) coming up with a no reference drawing in the hopes of luring her in as a paying customer. Alternatively start researching the instagram pages of local artists and find ones that do the style she is leaning towards. That might lead to references for the subject matter, too - but those references can come from anywhere. Not just local artists and not necessarily tattoo references, either.

    Allergy?

Don't know why an allergic reaction would only show up on one and not the other. Are you possibly putting some type of lotion or ointment on the easy to reach one?

When you say "the same ink" I presume you mean the same brand of ink - but do you also mean the same colors? Meantime I'm thinking I see bumps in the blue, but are there also bumps in the purple?
  17. Yep. Me, too. In the rare case that they might be butt-hurt that shouldn't be your problem and they shouldn't express that they are.
  18. sweat won't hurt a tattoo
  19. can't tell if the scar on your head has the same type of healing pattern as your arm. Definitely something to bring up during any consult you end up with - but with a geometric pattern like you're interested in - in the worst case the scar could be worked into/around the design.
  20. I'm not familiar much with Welsh artists, but would be happy to vet some if you want to send links. Hell, London is only 3 hours away, right? You've got dozens of good options at your disposal . . .
  21. You'd tell any potential artist what you're original vision was, bring references of other similar art that you love and ask for their honest opinion of a possible outcome.
  22. Over lotioning is harmful, but light usage helps some people deal with the healing. I'm about 70% covered, have never used any and all my collection has healed perfectly.
