  1. If you're planning on heading toward a full sleeve (?) I'd just keep adding other tattoos and worry about how to join them up later.
  2. Yep. I hope you post another photo next month so we can see how it actually comes out.
  3. Unkindness is the only shop I'm familiar with and could recommend to you there, but it's more of a neo-traditional specialized crowd.
  4. Yeah - with no heat or pain it just looks like you're a slow healer.
  5. there is definitely some localized redness in that one part. Is it hot to the touch? If yes, you may have an infection . . .
  6. or 3 letter, with a symbol on the other end to balance it out . . .
  7. It wouldn't be hard to darken both letters and in the process turn the "K" into an "R", and "H" or a "B". That might open up some 4 letter words or acronyms that might resonate with you . . .
  8. So, @oboogie - what your you gonna use for filler? Classic stars and dots?
  9. This^. And keep in mind that tattooists are just like other artists. Most are not good in all styles. We don't know about your friend, but look at it like this = as talented as they are, you probably wouldn't hire AC/DC to do a wedding gig.

    Design Ideas

She does great work, but everything she's showing is small and patch-like. You'd have to talk with her about her strategy of how she might tie everything together. Or, you'd have to be comfortable with wearing a series of disconnected pieces . . .

    Design Ideas

Unless all of your images have the same theme, I would stay away from using you back to display them. The big first decision is if you want all these ideas to be depicted in the same style.
  12. Yep. 5-10 minutes isn't going to hurt anything. Start using sunscreen 7-10 days in.

    Feedback

Yep. Great artistry. Might end up with a duration problem.
  14. more scenery. more skulls.
  15. Well, there isn't much right or wrong on how you proceed - but ultimately it's only you you have to satisfy every morning when you approach the mirror. In my case and over the years I've evolved into a black/grey guy. I can't tell if you're intending for your stomach to include color or not, but if it was me I'd keep that black/grey and when the top was getting re-worked I have that artist extend the chest tattoo downward.
  16. Yep. Some of us have been there.

    Hello!

That's good to know, thanks. With just a little research under my belt so far I've got Billy Hays at Bath Street on the top of my wish list.
  18. welcome! let's see what you've already got . . .

    Blowout?

all the above plus it takes at least 4-6 weeks to see what it's finally going to look like.
  20. I like the new guy's style, too. Highlights and some outlining added to the top might help it, applied by the right person. Print out a photo and have him show you what he's intending. I don't know about the Tylenol question, but I doubt it'd help much. It's just a sensitive area and it's gonna suck.
  21. Well, it's been almost a year so now I'm excited to have booked my next piece while on vacation in Austin a month from now! I'm in with Jon Sproul at Moon Tattoo and he's going to be filling in the last remaining spot on my leg, so (once reasonably healed) I'll be posting in both the Latest Tattoo Lowdown and the Squidpants threads.
